You could probably get up to air cannon distance by taking the counterweight all the way up. Is there a reason you don't do that? Also how much counterweight is this? I would love to see more video on this trebuchet.

Nice swish. I went to my first real competition last weekend at the Route 66 Punkin Chunkin. Colossal Thunder, and ACME Catapult were there. Really awesome people and event. I was lucky enough to get to compete. Can't weight to see y'alls machine fire in person. We started off with a friends 16 foot tall Merlin as a matter of fact, but a winch line fail cracked the frame. We ended up competing with a 3 foot tall whipper of mine. lolol Ahhhhh Good times. The next day we got his 8 foot Merlin working and chunked a baseball 372 feet with 50# cw, with it's first forward shot, finally. More good times! :-) Those were my first experiences with hands on your designs. Had a blast.

+FingerAngle I didn't know you had been working with MURLINs, very cool! Looks like we're done for the year, going to retrench and work to get the next increment of performance done, but we're planning on Wright Patterson and New Hampshire next year. Gotta beat YS2, and colossal Thunder!

I think y'all can do it, sir. Oh and my apologies for the misspelling of MURLIN. It's a very nice design. I'll probably build a couple over the next year. So many machine to build and play with! :-)

I've been up scaling the F2K, Rolling Whippers, and Spronagers. Gotta Love them All! :-D

+FingerAngle That Oklahoma event looks like a lot of fun. How do you do your modeling, if I may ask? Your machines work very well.

Yes the event was a blast. They really did a great job. Thank you very much, sir. I just have a knack for it and a good grasp of physics, and knowledge of materials and construction techniques . I build all kinds of stuff. It's just what I do. I do have one limited little program I got from Ron Toms for FATs and F2Ks. I use it sometimes, but mostly I just build to what I think is best. I have a facebook group for catapulters. The members are an amazing group of designers and builders from around the world. We share a lot. That helps too. Maybe stop in sometime and say hi. facebook.com/groups/texastrebuchet/

Great videos! really informative. I am actually entering a trebuchet into a competition soon and have several questions for you if you don't mind. Is there some public email you use that you wouldn't mind answering questions on? Or perhaps some other way to get in contact? Thanks in advance.
