When you guys talk about “being an outsider”, that is something every region in America outside of New York had to experience. The difference is LA didn’t try to sound like New York, Atlanta, Memphis, Houston, Miami, didn’t try to sound like New York. They crafted and developed their own sounds and let the world catch up. He never took over Toronto as a local artist. He’s cultural couch surfing from city to city, from style to style.
