thank you to the man on the couch for speaking up for cassie and victims. she can come forward whenever she wants to. whenever is best for her. the NY survivors act ended on the 24th. she was running out of time. also the statue of limitations prevents him from going to jail for those crimes. so cassie filed a civil suit with intentions on the public reading it, hence the trigger warning. the judge doesnt need a warning. thats not something thats on lawsuits. so cassie did this like a genius. she aired him out, in a civil suit instead of a book or interview so that diddy cant sue for defamation. AND she got paid. im proud of her bravery. diddy is obviously a very powerful man, and she took him on. good for her. we live in a capitalist world. money is where it hurts for diddy. shes deserves 100 million and then some. so do the other victims. cassie isnt the first to speak on diddy being violent. even his ex body guard gene deal confirmed what happened to cassie also happened to kim porter.
also cassie never asked for 30 mil in her lawsuit. thats what diddys lawyer claims she asked for but in reality i think thats how much diddy offered for her not to file the documents. according to cassies lawyer diddy offered an 8 figure amount and cassie said no and filed anyway. i think she got closer to 100 million. a few lawyers on YT and tiktok also say they might assume she got this much. cassie wasnt just suing diddy but 10 other entities hes involved with. she wanted a jury to decide on the payout amount. but i guess diddys offer was high enough she settled. she did what she needed to and good for her. she still aired him out in the process. she doesnt need to relive this nightmare in court for anyones entertainment. im glad she settled if thats whats best.

This has got to be the best comment on this situation, accurate, clear and concise. I wish most folks would take the time to think critically about cases like these instead of falling for click baits and attacking victims. Cassie absolutely doesn't need to go through trial for our amusement and curiosity. Just seeing how Megan Thee Stallion was DRAGGED throughout Tory's trial should tell us what was awaiting Cassie.

Cassie tried to leave diddy several times, he always sent his goons, threatened her & God knows what else. Men in the industry are so scared & shook of diddy, they never stand up to him, but are surprised a woman he hunted down when she was a teen, trapped her in a 10 album contract & scared the living daylights of her entire being, wouldn’t put up a fight or Simply leave??? He had total control over her life & mind. Her current husband was her personal trainer during her relationship w diddy & it seems the trainer helped her buss out of it. Remember her healing should be on HER terms, & hers alone & ….we need to leave her to it, bless her🖤.

As someone who has experienced sexual and physical abusive throughout my teens and dealt with sexual harassment at work, this episode spoke to me. I’ve never heard anyone, talk less of a man, express how trauma manifests itself during and after an incident in that way. I’m also pleased that you spoke about how power dynamics play a role. some landmarks are serious, stand in front of the pyramids and tell me you don't feel anything, stand in front of the Great Wall of China and tell me you don't feel anything or the Kaaba in Mecca or the ancient city of Petra carved into a mountain or the roman colosseum. You can't help but be consumed by awe, that people thousands of years ago could build something so beautiful at such a magnitude. however, more modern things don't really hit the same. Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State, etc

1:17:00-1:18:50 absolute facts from Poet. We display negative stereotypes that stop people from fully respecting us. We don’t always need to shout or be toxic for people to notice us. I’ve noticed this past year we’ve had our people be toxic and people defend them by saying at least they bring entertainment, it’s not right. We don’t get the same grace as everybody else, we don’t get to be toxic and be rewarded. Hope Nella okay but stuff like this can’t continue

Black people should not have to be likeable, or constantly 'pleasant' to get respected. Nigel Farage is literally a KNOWN racist and everything -ist. He flatly refused to learn when Nella calmly and clearly educated him about cultural appropriation. This man was not dragged, mocked and derided all over social media.
I'm not excusing or encouraging Nellas behaviour (even though I really think it's not that serious at all)... But this playing field is wayyy off. She was triggered and flew off the handle... Biggg deal.🤷🏽‍♀️ We've 100% seen far worse with far less response.

The ISA was only active for a year. It was introduced in 2022. So victims only had a year to put their case together and submit their claim. This year, it took me 6 months to write a statement about my work sexual harassment. It took me 10 years to open up to a therapist about my teenage abuses. I can't imagine how stressful and triggering it must've been to be presented with an opportunity for justice and have to relive and put a case together in such a short time.

Whilst I surprisingly agreed with Poets measured opinion re: Nella.......I can't help but point out that it's perplexing how both Poet & Chucky find chest to tell Nella she was wrong (which she was!)but will skirt around any issue that concerns a black man's wrong doing. Especially if that man is in the UK music industry....I've watched poet and Chucky happily and embarrassingly avoid criticising many UK black male artists and their behaviour. They always use the same excuse: "we don't really know wot happened" or " I don't have an opinion on the issue" or some other BS.
But let a black woman do something out of character and watch poet and Chuckie happily, publicly and openly tell her she's wrong.

E.g Elvis (dating 14 year old,N.W.A’s Easy E throw a girl out of the group’s hotels room naked as the day she was born because her boyfriend was looking for her, R Kelly had sex with 13 years old on video and the pee on her. Nigel Farage literally categorically refused to understand what cultural appropriation was in real time but the focus is Nella having a moment.
If you're gonna analyse the implications of a fake reality show... Let's really do it🤷🏽‍♀️

The “Love” album is a rushed and lame PR stunt💯 Also, that was never a relationship. She was drugged and pressured into the “relationship” from the VERY BEGINNING ‼️ Remove what you thought with what it is‼️ Be proactive with integrity 💯🌱 From NYC, love to all. Bless.

on the whole cassie and diddy thing, I cannot for the life of me understand how people have become such children in their 20's and 30's or even older. When you are even a teenager there is always the knowledge that you never want to be in a position to think that you owe someone unless it is said that you will be needed to help to do something for the help. I also think people know what they want. So personally, I knew that I did not want certain people to able to call themselves my friend as I did not want to mess around in their way of dealing with life. This is simple life skill and nobody from the age of even 15 is unaware of this and if they are, we as the community can pitty them, and inform them, but we cannot accuse the other of doing something illegal.
Once someone does something knowingly, it cannot become something that wasn't. This is for adults and even growing adults. She did it for the money which is understandable. It highlights the nature of the business of what rich people have to deal with. Thats it, she can say whatever she likes.
Once you say yes to whatever it is behind closed doors, it doesn't matter the number of cars he got you, the hospital bills that were paid for, the homes you got to own or the business that was saved. You are in agreement in anything you say yes to after the fact. If you say no and he decides to stop giving you things then that is alright, you walk away.
But don't be deluded and think the man or woman is wrong for having money and using it however he or she pleases in a legal manner. It can influence peoples decisions but it is still their choice. So I think people are too loose with the word asult and all the other words that are presumed criminal. But the law is funny and anything can be throw into the court and it will stick with the right amount of mental gymnastic. But it still doesn't change that people have autonomy in their decisions they make.

I highly doubt she agreed to be abused for TEN YEARS. She first started as a signed artist to Bad Boy (a 10 album deal, which is unheard of in the industry) She had just started her career, hoping it would take off with Bad Boy behind her. He never planned on helping her as he immediately started plotting to get with her. I would understand your argument if at 19 she was trying her hardest to be involved with him romantically, as a ploy to elevate her career (although it still doesn't warrant him abusing her the way he did).
But If you read the lawsuit, you would know that she was trapped from the beginning. She refused to be with him numerous times, as she was with Ryan Leslie at the time, and him with Kim Porter, but he was so persistent, he even went to the lengths of booking her for a fake show, with fake flyers, to get her away from her boyfriend, drug her and sleep with her. She never said "yes" to anything, she was coerced into most of it, and heavily under the influence. Some who spoke up on her behalf were also assaulted (her best friend at the time). With someone so powerful, do you think you can just pack up and go? He literally blew Kid Kudi's car in HIS driveway.
He not only became her "boyfriend", but also her employer and used her music career as a weapon against her (which is the reason why she sued all his record labels and businesses). Every time she tried to walk away, he would use people to bring her back. She was abused so much for such a large and important chunk of her life that she definitely is entitled to every bit of money she's getting. Diddy never used his money in a "legal manner" as you said, and he is indeed a criminal.

@@zitaegbame9684 Believe me I take all the stories out there with a grain of salt. Because at the end of the day she could just say no to being in a relationship with him. It is that simple. I said there will be economical repercussions, but that is a small price to pay. She wasn't held at gunpoint to stay there, her life wasn't at risk. She can say well I thought he would kill me. But that is all it is, a feeling. If that is your reason for staying that is still your decision. Unless he held her at literal gunpoint and chained her to the house for her entire 20s, then I do not think she has a reason to say that I had no choice but to be abused.
All the stories out there that Diddy blew up a car or put a hit out on someone. These are rumours and not fact. If they were fact then sure we can say she had to fear for her life. But it doesn't work when you have the police to call and say that you are afraid, and get a restraining order. If she were still killed Diddy would know the police would look at him first and he wouldn't want that. I say that because he just now stood down as the head of his company based on the allegation of abuse. If he killed her it would be even worse. So this is all crazy talk. She sued the man for money and when she got paid all that talk about "I am doing this for women" is all bullshit.
She wanted money since she could not live the same lifestyle that he offered and so she stoked the media and got what she wanted. It is some evil shit to do and it is why being a rich man sucks.

@@TheFergo911 I did mention that she said no to the relationship multiple times, especially because he was twice her age. And again, he was her employer, insterting and controlling her whole life from the beginning. We already know how hard it is to get out of a music deal, especially unscathed. I doubt the loss of her career would have been a small price to pay, at the time (of course if she knew what would subsequently happened to her, it would've been a no brainer to cut ties). He may not have held her at gunpoint, but we underestimate the power of mental abuse. We all scream mental health on top of our lungs, but this is a case where he mentally broke her to be able to control her further.
The car blowing up is indeed a fact, as Kid Cudi confirmed it happened. is there evidence directly linking the incident to Diddy? Probably not, but him saying he would do it and it actually happens, well... he looks guilty to me.
How many times have we heard of women going to the police and reporting abuse just to be turned away? Domestic violence in most cases isn't taken seriously until something tragic happens, for lack of evidence. I'm sure he was smart enough to not leave crazy trails behind him at the time. And it is truly sad that we wait for women to die first before taking things seriously.
She didn't have a choice but to sue for money because the statute of limitation had expired. She couldn't bring a criminal lawsuit against him, that's why she went the civil route, which always results in some kind of payout. And she was only able to do so because New York passed an act called the Adult Survivors Act, which allowed people to come forward; I believe Chuckie touched on it. She was on a strict deadline and this was her only chance to speak up. She definitely did it for women because she now leaves the door wide open for anyone who wants to say something, while getting paid at the same time. I don't see why it's such a horrible thing that she got money for her pain and suffering. She didn't have to relive her trauma through court proceedings, and have people destroy her character.
I do believe for her to bring such a lawsuit against someone so powerful, and him settling so quickly, she had to have a substantial amount of evidence that she started gathering at some point (either towards the end of their relationship, or when they separated, my speculation). We don't even know how much she asked for initially. The 30 millions everyone is talking about was what he wanted to shut her up with before she came out with the lawsuit. I believe she was confident in what she was bringing up, so she said no.
Another thing, Poet said it best, the silence from his peers is very telling. No one is coming out and publicly defending him, especially with the crazy rumors that have been swirling around him for years.
Ultimately, we can agree to disagree, but for me, the lawsuit was too detailed for it not to be true. I also think showing a little bit of empathy would go a long way. I can't wait for the day we can, as a people, think critically and hold folks accountable, instead of falling for click baits and gender wars online.
Apologies for the book I wrote.

I moved from the U.K. to Dubai and have been living here for a few years now and I would say that it’s simply what you make of it.
A lot of people have the perception of dubai being this ultra-flashy place, a “toy store” for adults, as Poet put it. But it’s really what you make of it - there are a lot of very regular people here, who have come out here to make a living and live relatively simple and humble lives. While the “adult toy store” comparison does have some basis, I think it’s over-emphasised, as many tourists (like the ones described by Poet) come to Dubai to pretend to be rich for a while, e.g. attending the same overrated places e.g the FIVE, doing the same dubai-starter park activities (eg renting a super car… partying on a yacht) and attending the same ‘high-end’ clubs which tend to be full of escorts, as Poet also described. But this is just one side of dubai.
For many of us living here, it’s a fantastic place to work and make a tax-free living in the sun. And for those of us who truly value diversity, it’s a fantastic place to meet and engage with people from all over the world. The standard of living here is also generally higher - it’s safe, there is so much to do here in your spare time and having the sun does wonders for the mood and overall energy of the place.
It all depends what you want to get out of it, and also, the intention you come here with.
