My issue is Cole would rap as if he'll body anyone. He literally has a bar saying "I'll put your favourite rapper's neck in a noose". So you can't go from that, to releasing an average diss, to apologising a few days later & claiming your spirit is corrupted.
"Don't write cheques you can't cash", is the phrase that comes to mind. Now Cole's credibility is shot in terms of the competitive type bars. He gotta stick to the conscious raps
I wrote some long comment on here before saying none of the english artists would be around drake if he wasnt famous (theyd ignore him or laugh at him, based on his actions) and now the american artists are revealing that they never actually liked him, 2 albums with guys that hate him and diss tracks going back and forth, people hes been around for years are saying they dont trust him, you dont have to do much for people to trust you, just be consistent, you can trust a bad person to be a bad person, if people are calling an album about you "we dont trust you" then you're f**ked up
As an American I’m going to tell you my perception of Drake and what some others seen as well. He was the cornball from the tv show Degrassi. He was never a hard head Rap/Hip Hop dude. He infiltrated Cash Money sucked up all the bravado that he could get and created an imagine for hisself and there we had DRAKE! He imitated every Americanism he needed. Now,I’m not saying that he can’t make a bop cause he can. He was just not an authentic guy. He worked with all the famous Hip Hop artists in America and got something from everyone of them and got over in Hip Hop. He did the same thing in London and got what he needed from them did his thing and moved on. I’ve never been a fan. For one thing I’m an old head so I can see what’s been done before. Lol
Poet is bang on the money with this. You don’t say you’re the best all these years, make a diss record and then apologise. Also there are unwritten laws in this and J Cole broke them, it’s disrespectful to the genre. He should be banned, cancelled, and never be allowed to rap again.
Nah.. Poet likes the sound of his own voice. The problem is it was the game when it was in the culture but in the hands of big multinationals and corps it's life and death. Our desire for the sport allows for haters to manipulate the situation.
Mitch has Twitter opinions. I swear everytime I go onto Twitter, I see things Mitch says like damn near word for word of hen I hear him speak - like on this pod for example. I’ve seen it multiple times too. It’s like his opinion is like 50% of his opinion and 50% of what people on Twitter are saying
People keep talking about Jay apologising. The reason it was respected is cos we respect our mothers even in battle, we grew up helping any mother on the block enemy or not, there was a code of conduct for mothers just like the mafia. So if mom dukes says stop we all stop.
Poet 💯💯💯💯 The goal post can’t move because Cole felt regret. Happy for him as a human that he is finding his peace but as a rapper this was THEE biggest L. I hate this for Hip Hop.
Drake for grime would be a mix of different guys. Skepta for the brand and versatility dave for that fact he is young in the game and some other I can't fully think of
Why not talk about Ruff Sqwad ?!?? for the full episode, instead talking about some dead rap beef 🥱 this guys are drake groupies 😅 I can’t believe another episode of this 😅
If Skepta is our equivalent to drake we are doing bad🤣 Skepta is one of the greatest to come out this country just of what he has done for the culture but talent wise it’s not him. I would Say it Dave or Stormzy soley based on his Versatility, Creative Talent & Commercial (Mainstream) Success. To be a Drake, you cant only just be a rapper you have to be a Popstar too. Skeppy is a Grime man
I dont think it's that surprising the genre of music Nines listens too..If your musically inclined..you can hear it through his beat selections..same with Skrapz..
20:28 You need to be more specific when making the comparisons to a UK Drake - are we talking popularity, hits, longevity, credibility, cultural influence, respectability etc..?? Because Drake, love him or hate him, ticks many of those boxes. People been clowning with the Thanos memes but he really is that guy of the rap game right now😂
It's also a bit cowardly to release your diss, then surrender. You got your grievances off your chest, but you're now gonna make your opponent look like a bully if they (rightfully) respond to you.
UK - Equal to US rapper Stormzy: Drake Feels mad obvious. HITH. Battle tested 1 - 1 record. Bodied Wiley/Meek, L to Chip/Pusha. Came in on HipHop/Grime but explored their sounds musically and amassed a broader audience. Ghetts: Kendrick Monster, always ready to war doesn't matter which Don. People just don't know *how* good Ghetts is. Bar for bar almost flawless. Wretch 32: J Cole (let me land) Musically I think they're in the same lane. I know Wretch is *about* it, I'm just leaning towards him because Wretch & Cole are in a similar lane to me. Real life, connect to people with soul. Other one I'd say is Loyle Carner, Benjamin is my guy but people don't recognise his levels like that. Dave but Dave is on it... Chip: Pusha T I mean...
35:00 *That Part* Poet says it perfectly, you write best from experience. You've snuck a few in through the years. Suddenly it's "Sorry" I understand the broader conversation, maybe you don't want to mix in with the mess that you see coming and most don't see the clouds yet but if you get caught when it rains, then stand in the rain but don't claim to be a cloud.
Need OVO Mitch on the next ep🤣
Def not
Dan, it's time to get a bigger couch lad
Poet insinuating he is more Hip Hop than Cole is mad.
Finally some music conversations but respectfully I need poet to let the floor have the opportunity to for others to voice their opinion...
The guests were clueless on the Cole discussion, so there's not much they could add
@@michael43567 very true as well - almost as of poet was talking to himself and filling in gaps
"Metro shut yo ass up and make them drums niniaaa"
yet Drakes on record sayingmetros the greatest
@@sillynamereallythat’s what he saying shut up and stick to your drums
@@sillynamereallydon’t matter if they’re beefing now tbh it’s about petty points lool
😂 I think Kendrick sent a text message to J Cole and asked him, "you really want to do this, bro?...."
There was no need for guest on this episode poet done 80% talking and the 20 was split between chukie & guest 😂
Mitch needed to be present this episode. These man are too nonchalant.
Emergency eps are needed as it’s about to be war

Ruff Squad are legends - deserve their flowers 👏🏾
For doing what?
Poet represents whats wrong with some men in todays society ...

Chuckie Online, I really enjoyed this video, so I hit the like button!
Poet You Are Not As Profound As You Think… Gwahn Ah Ya Bed
Can't wait for the pod on drake diss
Thought it would be out already
J Cole is the first to do this..and I think it's a unique move for the positive. It was a show if strength to remedy his act of weakness.
Take this moment in , Ruff Squad R In The Building That Is Big !
Chuckie "RIGHT!"
I've only just clocked Kieth looks like Rapid 😅
Hopefully there’s another episode talking about Ruff Sqwad rather than this nonsense.

21:02 FOR THE RECORD.... Common and drake had smoke & Common won.

Somebody get kendric a sippy cup. He getting defensive
You might not want to admit it but the UK Drake is 100% Skepta.

Not at all. No comparison. Drake releases song nearly every month past 13 years. Skepta is sporadic
Exactly. I was wondering why he wasn't brought up. Its either him or Stormzy. Dave is more of a Kendrick

J Cole basically did what was necessary because had he not Drake would have done subliminals...facts or undeniable facts?
Nah he was going to drop regardless
You’re show is sooo boring, just hating on Cole
L Cole . Back 2 Back Losses, weak diss track then apologises😒
another episode talking about drake.... come off it.. so boring
