I have two poodles (8 weeks old) and the one gets over stimulated - as you state, didn't know it was the issue - and when they play for a bit he won't stop barking! and we haven't known what to do or help...it's been a frustrating week...Thank you ...This video was very helpful.

Hi Alyssa, thanks so much for this incredibly helpful video. We are moving from Beijing to NY in 6 weeks and while I've already started crate training our dog I think I pushed him too hard. I have one more question: What do you recommend for increasing the time periods of keeping the gate closed? 1 minute intervals? How quickly should you increase the duration if your dog seems fine? Great tips. I was told that puppies yip when their litter mate bites too hard, and if you can yip like a pup, your pup learns to control how hard it's biting, not stopping, but learning humans are sensitive and must be treated carefully.

I try to capture this when our cats are out, I’m not sure that using a kennel for our senior cat would help? He gets stressed in one. And our dog has been around the cats almost 2 months, it was going well and it’s now gone downhill. She’s also a teenager. The cats come out through the baby gate on their own all of the time, I do the ‘look at that’ training with treats on a leash, and also treat her when she’s calmer and starts to look at me. Not sure it’s going to work. In between she still gets keyed up sometimes.

What if the cat is super confident and keeps rubbing up against the dog? Hahaha Ive never had a cat much like mine. She grew up with dogs. But my one dog is so hyper and loves cats too much that she finally hissed at her. So i want to figure out a way to keep them both seperated when it comes to letting the cat out of the carrier. I know how they act because the cat escaped once and they all met on way too fast of terms but no biting or attacking just sniffing and wagging tails. Last cat was introduced too fast too. As a roommate moved in. And they were fine for months. So thats why we got a cat of our own. But all cats are different. So i want things to go on the cats terms. And it seems she got peeved a tad last time because my dog noodles was like "play play play!" I guess feeding them at the same time but the cat likes my dogs food too much and she wants to eat out of the same bowl 😂

I have 2 ,127lbs German shearers that are 5”3 when standing . They are big dogs that hate cats they chase them off our backyards all the time in a sprinting hunting manner . I’m a little scared that they can gang up on my future cat ,but I’m hoping for the best this video helps .They react like ludo did sometimes just to dogs but they warm up to them eventually. The cat I’m getting is older and is friendly with dogs so I’m hoping they can co exist

I know it’s a very old video, but it’s impossible to find anything breed specific and useful about French Mastiffs when it comes to my situation. I adopted my Bordeaux when he was 90 days old and he was and still is a very loving and social dogs who loves all humans and is cautiously interested in other animals but not so much as humans. Now he’s 1 year and 5 months old and he is fearful and anxious when someone approaches him head on or showers him with instant attention when meeting. Despite desensitizing him to sounds when he was young he still gets freaked out by loud sounds. I just want him to be confident and I don’t know what to do

This is a good.video. I have a better way. I have 2 inside cats and a outside cats. I have aGSD X CHOW and a American Akita x Belgian Malinios. All animals are rescues with issues in addition to EXTREMELY HIGH PREY DRIVES. My cats are NOT afraid of dogs but with 2 large high drive dogs that would kill them if not desensitized. First I take 1 dog at a time and leave the cat on the other side of a closed door. They get use to scent and sound of each other. Once the dog becomes use to the cat scent I introduce the second dog. This usually increases the prey drive of both because of lack mentality. Next. Dogs in a crate or restrained securely cat is released. Having GOOD obedience is MANDATORY as YOU CANNOT TRAIN OUT PREY DRIVE. PREY drive is genetic and was selectively bred for in both guarding and hearding dogs. Swap out dogs or cats in the same room but one or the other crated. Make sure your cats have a SAFE place they can get to even when your traiming is complete. Most cats will climb or hide where the dogs can't get to.

I think you did a fantastic job on training Jindo dog... I've heard they are not motivated to food & it's hard to train them just like Siberian husky. I also heard they are extremely clean dogs like cat. No foul smells but very strong prey drive!

Hi. I am travelling with my 5.5 years labrador and it be a 28hours flight. Its been 1.5 months that his trainer have been patiently crate training him but he does sits more than 5 10 mins. Now I have to travelling in next 15 days. So I just leave him in his crate for 30 to 45 min and he continously barks non stop along with scratching his paws. In dire need of an expert help. Can any one suggest anything.

helloi have border collie dog, after multiple attacks from other dogs when one of them ends not well on my mother, my border collie does not like to be near other dogs, female is ok but not male. He is not burking on them just if they are really near he stare at them and start to growl. What can i do please? what training shoul i do, i have big problem that he is stubborn and he is not fixed on any toy or food. He is even not greedy for food, i would like to let him interact with other dogs but i do not know if its possible

I know this video is old but I’m hoping someone answers. My boyfriend has two dogs so we don’t know how to approach training his dogs a miniature schnauzer and pitbull. I have two cats. The pitbull has already cornered my cats and gotten hurt. We keep them separated. There has been times the cats dash out and run into the dogs. The little one is fine when the bugs dogs not around but when she is she corners my cats for the bigger dog. I’m super scared and my boyfriend doesn’t think his pitbull is trying to hurt my cat but it looks like she is and I’m about to move out if I can’t figure this out for their safety.

ok so i rescued a kitten, she’s 14 weeks old now, i’ve had my GSD for 4 years, he’s my literal baby🤣 he has a high prey drive (chases squirrels and birds etc) but with my kitten he whines loudly when i’m playing with her or when she’s running around, but he wags his tail steadily in a mid position, and will go in a play bow when she runs up to him at the baby gate. he also does lip licks around her. when she’s stuck her paws thru he’s tried to grab them with his mouth, so i’m wondering if he’s being aggressive or if he’s curious as to what she is and wants to play? he’s never growled at her or gone completely stiff, he’ll stare her down and whine/wag his tail but i can’t tell if he wants to attack her or play. she wants to play with him i can tell definitely. i’ve kept her in a separate room and worked on intros for 2 months now. also have recently done intros while she’s free roaming and i have his muzzle on him and he’s leashed in a place next to me, they’ve touched noses and nothing happened (with and without muzzle)

😮 you are a life saver listening to your methods of training a puppy,I just got a mini poodle puppy her name is coco she will be 4 months old sept 1st. I'm going threw the barking stage right now oh and pant leg biteing she follows me around house every where I know when play time is over and she gets tired ,at this point in time I would love to take her out side to explore and maybe walk with her,I noticed on your dog a harness how do I get her to wear one or did you start with a collar and what's your advice which one is best for her,I will subscribe and hope to hear from you soon thank you so much

When I adopted my dog in December he only wanted can type junk dog food. It's obvious by his behaviour he was given a lot of junk food. To this day begs, but knows we won't give, so will eventually lay down while we eat. Doctor wanted him to have Science Diet for seniors, dry, but would not eat all by itself. I give a small sliver of Healthy Pet roll smashed and smaller qty of SD dry. I was shocked to hear in your video the feeding qty suggested is often too much. I've tried to give him carrots, berries, some broccoli, but so far no interest.

Thank you. My sweet son died suddenly. He left behind his senior cat. We were able to find - what we thought was a good home for her - nine months later, I got a phone call saying it isn't working out. The cat "attacked her dog". My little senior dog doesn't get along with cats but I'm left with no choice right now. I hate to put my dog in this situation. I'm hoping he can relax with the cat. Vise versa. I don't want her given to just anyone! She was my son's friend! So I'm picking her up tomorrow. I'm trying to figure out how to make this work. Your video gives me some hope that I won't have to re-home her again. A shelter is NOT AN OPTION! Any other suggestions to get them okay together will be much appreciated.

I have a 1 year old farm dog Rory, who is a mixed breed golden retriever- German Sheppard mix. Barking isn't a problem as I want him to protect the yard and keep animals off the garden. But he doesn't come when called. He is on a long chain because every time he gets loose he runs away. He sometimes refuses to come to me for our twice daily walks around my large yards yardsite. He often bites my ankles and shoes, won't play fetch, or if he does, won't bring the ball to me. I'm going to try the hand feeding to earn trust. I try to stay calm, but have yelled in anger a few times. I know I'm the problem, but live in a tiny remote town where getting training is near impossible. Help!

We have a 3 year old Border Collie, Lyla, and have given her some basic training, mostly with encouragement and petting and less with food rewards. Recently, it has come to my realization that all along she has also been training me. She does this with the famous Collie Eye and movement as to where she wants me to go and what she wants me to do. Before Lyla we had Zeus, Rottie/Lab mix, who was pretty smart, but Border Collies are at a completely different level.

Some people here are commenting outrageous stuffs nobody asked them about. I mean, people are people, one reason dogs of any breed are better than those know-it-all people. It is funny people cannot just shut up at once when they have nothing creative to say. Overall, I am impressed with that Dobies drive & focus; he is pretty huge too! I wonder how tall was he when this was shot. Also, when did Dobies stop growing?,
