Stop Dog Barking at Construction Workers

Does your dog go bonkers when they see construction workers?
Dogs barking in car at construction workers can be frustrating and stressful. You can use food to calm dogs, and teach them to offer alternate behaviors. The goal is not to “distract” the dog, but to teach them to offer alternate behaviors to barking when they see someone that they perceive to be threatening.

How do you calm dogs when you are by yourself and the dog(s) are in car crate/harness. I'm not able to put treats through the crate gate while driving.

Dezary Drak hey, great question! I would use a visual barriers on windows or use a crate cover. You can also put on music that will cancel out outside noise. This would help to manage the behavior in the short term. I would also be working on Base training exercises with the the dog when the car is parked for 5-10 minute sessions each day.
