  • About this video: The dog in this video is my dog. Her name is Beatrix and she exhibited highly fearful behavior on walks when I first adopted her from the shelter. She would charge and nip at people (especially kids) if they came to close or moved too fast. This video talks about some of the training that I did with her to build confidence, improve our connection and help her work through fear and reactivity on leash. Video was filmed at the south rim of the grand canyon.

What do you find most challenging about your dog's behavior?
We can help our dogs work through fear and reactivity if we have a good training plan and we stick with the protocol.

I love her clear focus and interest in you as people pass closely by, even while not under command! :)

That's a really clever insight that people are trained to respect a dog engaged in a training exercise

I love how clear you make the reasons for teaching this with a reactive dog!
