If you guys like these there are a couple other channels that are great to watch like Casual Geographic, which is hilarious and factual, and Not Just Bikes which talks extensively about how cities and suburbs are designed!

The Why Files is great and I've watched Dr. Grande. Definitely JCS peeked my interest.

as a german, it is fascinating for me how hard of a time you have with speaking the word "Kurzgesagt" which is a fairly easy german word :D

Orion in the Dark is one of the WORST animated films I've ever seen. Plot: Dark teaches a kid not to be scared of the dark. Movie: Kid bullies Dark until he commits SUICIDE and is still scared of the dark as an adult. Wow

Watch Dr. Grande and was a sub for No Lab Coat Required when he had only like 700 subs and his views on his fantastic videos were like 200. Glad you are giving him a shoutout.

Oh I enjoyed Mr right so much I think I'm going to have to watch it again. I really like Sam Rockwell in almost anything and this movie was a lot of fun

No Lab Coat is excellent, agreed. For casual entertainment, I recommend: Bertram - Craft and Wilderness, Clifton Chilli Club, and ArmWrestlingTV. but for education, I recommend: Muscle and Motion (3D views of how your anatomy works).

We have a crazy interesting CZcams channel featuring Eskrima-Kali-Arnis (martial arts demonstrations & instructional classes), Karate, Classical Yoga, & lately, our Cat Orphanage. We have less subscribers, but oddly, more videos than most of Darren's listings. 275 videos.

The most beautiful astronomy channel is Melody Sheep. It will blow your mind.

Just got done watching "unfrosted" due to your recommendation and it was hands down one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. It's DEFINITELY a GOOFY comedy so just be prepared for that. But they have a scene where they parody the Jan 6th insurrection. And I almost died laughing.

Dr. Grande is dry (intentionally, I suspect), but he has a killer sense of humor. The young man on No Lab Coat Required also does some "myth busting." His delivery is excellent and he is a wonderful speaker.

Great choices! Being a science buff, I watch pretty much all of these on a regular basis. I'd also recommend Michael Siegel's channel. He's an astronomer who rates TV shows, movies and such on their scientific accuracy. He's sort of dry sometimes (I mean he is a professor) but he's also really entertaining. Loved his take on E.T... The guy actually started tearing up when E.T. got sick.

You must feature films that nobody has heard of before, like AMERICAN BOY, now at the top of my watch list. I really have no use for (most of) your videos that recommend good movies that EVERYBODY knows about and have seen many times before. So pointless. Tell us something we don't know.

First Matrix movie will always be an amazing in theater experience for me. Back in 1999, the marketing for the movie leading up to the release was just “What is the Matrix?”. No teases about the plot, the action, etc. The Matrix reveal while sitting in theater was mind blowing, not to mention the action. I was already an HK movie fan at the point, but seeing the martial arts and gunfighting brought into a stylized, big budget way was breathtaking. Kinda tough nowadays to go into a movie completely not knowing what to expect at all, and the first Matrix movie experience will always be something I cherish.

When I started noticing you had the same feelings on several lesser known films as I did, I knew I could trust your suggestions on stuff I hadn't seen. Thank you for the treasure trove of new favourites I now get to watch. I have one ask: please do an episode on lesser known comedies! Something tells me you'd be as on the money with that category. Keep up the fantastic work, a new fan.

I need to watch “Battleship” again - the most interesting take I’ve seen online is that the alien ship is a mining ship that got stuck on Earth due to an accident, was only trying to signal for help to go home, and because of misunderstandings, was seen as an aggressive force for an invasion.

Starship Troopers!! I remember when I was about 8, I wanted to see An American Werewolf in Paris but it was sold out, so I ended up seeing Starship Troopers instead and I think it was the right choice at that moment especially since I went there with high hopes of seeing another movie 🥺 Sh!t happens lol but at least now I can say that Starship Troopers has been one of my favs since then.

Huh? UNDERWATER was one of the most ALIEN-esque films I've seen in years! Bottom of the ocean, outer space....the environment in which such tales occur is almost utterly moot. Both films feature severely unprepared protagonists being preyed upon by biologically superior entities, which in both films our beloved protags invite upon themselves while in a harsh, unforgiving environment. The main character even triggers the iconic "self-destruct" in the final act in both films, for goodness sakes, man! Winters' performance in The Poseidon Adventure is amazing, yet neither ALIEN nor UNDERWATER feature such character motivation. The biggest difference between UNDEEWATAA and ALIEN is the lack of comic relief in Scott's reiteration of DARK STAR. I apologize for such a firm disagreement, and all three films mentioned in this comment are totally worth watching, but had to point these things out.

Back to say .... Watch the Total Recall(remake) as you are watching a new Sci-Fi, as DVD suggests. It's a damn good movie, with all the wanted elements. And yes Kate Beckinsale is a badass, but I wish Jessica Biel would have been more kicking ass than she did. She was talented at killing, just wish she would have done more kicking ass😁
