I'm your host, Darren Van Dam!
Tired of looking for good movies to watch on Netflix, Amazon Prime or other streaming services? Every week I recommend a handful of the best movies on Netflix, Amazon, HBO etc. so my subscribers never run out of good movies to watch on streaming. Spending 10 minutes watching one of my videos could save you hours of searching, hours that you could otherwise spend watching good movies on streaming that you otherwise might not have ever watched or even known about.
Thanks for watching! - Zábava

You AIN'T LYING...Headsgot, Arkansas, and The Outpost are SO GOOD and True GEMS!
🟥" The Conversation" is the prequel to "Enemy of the State" which came out years later. See them both.
Thanks DVD love your videos!
I would rather you have bookmarks for but thanks for the list in the comments so I can skip through the video.
Thank you!
10,000 movies? 100,000? How many on how many platforms??? Netflix, MAX, Prime, Peacock. Apple, Hulu , CZcams, the list is absolutely endless and this ONE GUY, Darren Van Damme has totally locked down the goto for knowing and presenting exactly what to watch. Darren you are a MACHINE bringing it home every time you make a new list.
The Man From Nowhere starts slow, but boy oh boy is it worth the watch.
Thank you! I've just added a stack of films to my list. What you've done is important. We need to see action adventure films from other countries and expand our horizons. I'm really looking forward to these.
Bro, I really appreciate your site and even though I am a cinephile and I’ve seen so so many movies, I love watching your lists to see if it’s possible I missed something, but usually you remind me to rewatch something I haven’t seen in ages…so thank you so much for what you do!
Choi Min - Sik who plays the lead role in Oldboy is the Robert DeNiro of Korean Cinema. His role in I Saw The Devil is also mind blowing.
Great suggestions! I appreciate the caveats and reasoning. I also appreciate the breadth of different styles.
Thank You for the List and Video 😀
Love your lists. Always entertaining and love your honesty. Thank you for what you do.
I watched The Occupant when you talked about it in an earlier video a couple of years ago and really liked it - thanks Darren
Triple Frontier is another hidden gem on Netflix right now. Great good heist movie. Very similar to Heat IMO.
I subscribe to many of these streaming platforms but yet week after week I ponder what to watch - defeated by endless choices. That was until now. I have watch several of Darrens' movie recommendation before. This particular one appears very interesting as all the movies seem noteworthy and have added many to my watchlist on Netflix. Thanks for the recommendations.
All these recommendations are terrific. Love this channel!
Been watch your channel for awhile and finally subbed .. Thanks for your recommendations.. Great job bro..
Love ur lists. U have suggested some of the most interesting movies that r now my favorites
Thanks Darren… you always come through with the goods. ❤😊
Would love to see a video with your top 100 movie picks of all time. You always have solid recommendations🤙🏼
I first heard about Oldboy when I worked at a video store. This Korean couple I talked to often came in and rented it. I was admiring it as I checked them out, and they asked me if I liked crazy violent movies, and if I minded subtitles. I told them I was down, They told me to check it out.
I told them I would rent it when they returned it and I did. I was blown away.
Check out I Saw the Devil!
As great a movie that OLDBOY is . Am I the only one who feels it is the 3rd best of the VENGEANCE trilogy? LADY VENGEANCE being the best IMHO?
I'm gonna watch it tonight after reading this and the video review. Never heard of it. Stoked.
@@alantorres7632 The cinematography is by far the best of the three.
Watch the Korean Old Boy at least once a year. Spikes Lee's version of Old Boy was a well done American version.
Great list!!! Thanks!
Thank you for all the content.
Thank you for recommendations :)
What a great list thank you so much ❤
Oldboy, FTW! That ending, PHEW! I saw it when it was first available & have the DVD backed up and ready to play whenever I need my fix
I first saw Oldboy when Netflix only mailed DVDs. It changed me completely. At that point I started watching many foreign films from India and Korea. Netflix was the only place I could get a chance to see most of them. I’m so glad I did. Many were enjoyable and unforgettable. I didn’t mind reading subtitles then but now at 73 years old my eyesight is not good and it’s difficult reading so I mostly stick to dubbed foreign movies but I know I’m missing something doing that.
Cheers for this list 👍👍👍🎯
Great list
Excellent list, my man! Good Time is AMAZING! That French story style of getting in over your head and the universe making things worse and worse is so well executed. Masterpiece.
Grea job. Thank you for the work you do.
Love your channel. Keep kicking ass
always great recommendations!
Awesome list! I’m about to watch Dragged Across Concrete. Love Vince Vaughn!
interesting...never heard of Goodtime....thanks for the heads up Darren
I've seen a few of these and loved them! And now my queue is full of others that sound amazing.
I love your channel. Thanks for all the hidden gems I've now seen, due to your recommendations. Hope you get to 500k subs soon.
❤❤ I’ve been watching you for a long time, Darren and to be honest not always a fan of your recommendations. This list is definitely my favorite list. I’ve found 5 movies to add to my watchlist that I haven’t seen before.
Also to have Old Boy as your number 1 pick is fantastic. I’ve watched it twice over the years and was one of the first Korean films I watched. Love that movie, but you definitely have to use the subtitles as otherwise the dialogue won’t make any sense since the dubbing is horrible.
Watched 'Arkansas', it was really good. I just had to say you got good taste. Everything you've recommended that I've watched has been really good. Thanks.
Bravo! Excellent list. Great job!
Dig the way you mixed old, Hackman & Bronson, with newer actors and films.
Thanks #FlickConnection
Excellent FLICK CONNECTION Darren. Great to see Dragged Across Concrete and The Conversation ranked highly. Excellent films. Many thanks for sharing with us 👍💎👍💎👍
WOW Arkansas Was Brilliant !!! TYTYTY I thought you deserve a huge TY for the Suggestion . I watch your channel all the time. Keep up the Great Work!
Really enjoy your work.
I have no idea what you're talking about, but I TOTALLY understand what you're saying! EXCELLENT DESCRIPTIONS. Gonna check some of them OUT! Thank you!
thank you for this list!!!
You bet
You really did fill my queue with this one!
Great list. Good video.
Awesome recommendations!
This is one of your stronger lists, lots of great movies on it. He Never Died and Man from Nowhere are two in particular that I have watched multiple times. The Outpost is a great war movie that I think just suffered from poor marketing and some burnout for war movies when it came out.
Thnnk you as always Mistah DVD!🤙
Glad you mentioned The Night Comes For Us, action movie masterpiece imo. Headshot so good, so brutal
Great review.
I’ve watched so movies from you videos. Thank you
Thanks for keeping an eye (hehe) on Spain's cinema. Greetings from Madrid :)
Love the channel. Here's some ideas for video themes- gritty war movies, best dark crime/comedies, Innovative post-apocalyptic flicks, badass heist movies, funniest standup specials and most ridiculous slapstick comedies. Also you should really focus on killer series and limited series sometime.
I'm literally going to check out Oldboy right now, that looks really good!
Thanks for the recommendations! I'm not into war flicks and watched The Outpost mostly out of curiosity, cause it's based on a book by CNN's Jake Tapper, and liked it. What's most, there are so many chars and names, I actually enjoyed it more on second watch, already knowing who was who. And The Next 3 Days is great. I loved Crowe playing a regular dude.
Bruv good time is so good!! People need to see this!
dude, what an awesome video series, youre the man!
the man from nowhere is an absolute favorite!
oh and i saw Arkansas on amazon prime a year ago, boom! I had no idea Clark Duke directed it, awesome factoid.
Has always love the recommendations
Well done for the list, I stopped watching standard TV and going to the movies years ago and now I search for decent stuff that late at night I will sit and watch via a PC connected to 654" Smart TV. Your list will be very useful but even so, I doubt only about three will be worth watching sadly, the thing is an as you showed having OldBoy at the top of your list, we rarely get anything of such quality even from the South Korean market these days.
Love your content
I watch alot of movies and i gotta say you have be ome my go to for recommendations...
Ana de Armas, um,,, yes and yes....
Just watched Arkansas, awesome flick!!!
The Conversation is an absolute classic, a must watch...
Another killer list boss!
I see a lot of movies, but the only ones of these I've seen is "The Occupant", "The Outpost", and "The Conversation", which were all great - thanks for the new leads!
Thank you for recommending Eye for an Eye. The movie was brilliant!
Love Holy Spider, glad it's on here!
I finally watched Brawl on Cell Block 99 after your recommendation and I loved it! I’m not even a fan of Vince Vaughn at all but he was fantastic. The soundtrack was INSANE!!! I’m 37 but I recognized Eddie Levert of the O’Jays and bought it immediately. Gonna watch Dragged Across Concrete next! I’ll always check out your suggestions..even if it takes me a while! Love ya man!!
so many good ones. thanks
Just watched "Arkansas". Awesome recommendation!
I've seen over half of these and is a really great list.
Dang, a list where I haven't seen most of the recommendations! "He Never Died" is fantastic, though.
Right on, that's what I like to hear!
I've seen Henry Rollins' spoken word performances, and Black Flag was my favorite punk band back in the day. But I've never seen any of Rollins' movies. So I'm really looking forward to seeing He Never Died.
Lotta cool movies in this list for sure!
Oldboy is amazing. The fight scene down the hall is a bona fide classic that can hang with the best fight scenes ever put to film in any genre.
I love your videos... I spend my weekends binge watching your movie recommendations. But of this list, only headshot is on my Netflix in Namibia . 😢
The Blackcoat's Daughter too. So good!
Really great movies on this list 🤘
Thank you very much...
This wS an amazing list.
Joel Kinnamen is underrated, I think he's amazing. I loved him in The Killing series, he was the highlight of RoboCop and was great in Altered Carbon so I'll watch anything he's in. Lots of great flix on this list, thanks Darren.
The Killing was such a great series. Few shows can rival the acting and story of that series. Yes, Kinnamen killed his role in it as well.
i thought he was amazing in The Killing as well, but I havent really liked any of his other characters even near as much as I liked what he did with The Killing. Thats just an awesome series overall
@@increase9896 if you like sci-fi give Altered Carbon a try, it's great
I have seen a few of these movies and you definitely like the slow gritty movies with higher characters development. So do I so I’m going to check out a couple of these like Arkansas
Thank u very much 🎉
I love foreign films, but I don't like the dubbed films. I'm perfectly fine with subtitles. Thank you for featuring some foreign films!
S. Craig Zahler and the Safdi Brothers are my favorite directors today, I look forward ro everything they do. Their movies put me on the edge of my seat!
love the fact you mention the dubs as unless i know its a really good film i'm not a fan of subtitles, great video
I can't stand dubbing. You lose the actors' nuances.
I watched Arkansas last night and was great. He Never Died, was also very good movie and great pick on list.
I saw THE OCCUPANT years ago and was so bizarre that I couldn't stop watching. That guy was nuts but soo damn smooth with how he took over that guy's life.
Throwing another recommendation behind Arkansas. I really enjoyed it.
Hello DVD, The list seemed lacking until you mentioned "The Man from Nowhere," one of my all-time favorites. I got all my siblings to watch it. Even at my previous job, before starting my own business, I took it to the office. We watched it over a lunch break using a projector screen. Everyone has truly enjoyed the ride.
I only watch it is subtitles - by far the best way to watch it; like IP Man I & II.
Interestingly, without speaking a word of the language - I always turn the volume up when the movie starts, like I need to hear. ☺️☺️☺️
Also, I always ask this question to those I encourage to watch the movie:
At which moment or event in the film did the protagonist start caring about what happens to the little girl?
Dude, great recommendations. I have mentioned this before, not on Netflix, not sure which streaming service to be honest, but you have to check out the S Korean flick "A Hard Day" (2014). One of the best thrillers to ever come out of S Korea
Some of my favourite films in this list - He never dies, next three days, Eagle eye... all on my watchlist with the informant, arkansas and holy spider
He Never Died is a sweet hidden gem!
Nice Luis Tosar and Mario Casas picks man
Another epic list, DVD.
love these selections…and, we must be weirdos in our house but we 1000% prefer subtitles. we put them on even for english.
Dragged Across Concrete is a very different kind of police/crime drama. The long scenes with odd dialogue is quite unique and; if you can be patient, it’s a great film that will stay with you long after you watch it
I WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO WATCH ON NETFLIX AND I HATE GETTING ON NETFLIX SOMETIMES BECAUSE I CAN SPEND "90MIN" JUST LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO WATCH. THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO, YOU GAVE ME SEVERAL MOVIES TO CHECK OUT!
Thx D.♥️
@Flick Connection. The Next 3 Days was the shit. Definitely underrated and one of my fav Crowe movies. Something I can TRULY see myself die doing trying to save my Queen…
Yeah. One thing that's happened is that equipment costs have plummeted. What these means is that there was a certain level of quality that you could not get before unless it was a major motion picture production. Now - you have a lot of countries that can support their own movie industry and they've come out with a lot of interesting movies. Then - with these Streaming Services like Amazon Prime and Netflix - you get to see all them on you computer.
The thing here is that I have to be in the mood to watch something interesting rather than purely entertaining.
.
Good Time is phenomenal. Dragged across concrete is fantastic as well, although slow in a couple parts.
Dragged Across Concrete was so good
