One note about Lucky, it was basically about HDS. He wasn't married, had a hobby of singing Mexican love songs, practiced yoga, and was made basically to honor him.

My approach to all the streaming services is to subscribe to one at a time. I watch all the stuff that seems interesting over, let's say 3 months, then I cancel the subscription and go to the next one I'm interested in. (bonus points if the first month is free!) Wash and repeat.
Yeah I do that as well right now I have Disney plus and Hulu and Shudder and then I'll switch over over to something else soon
Zone of Interest is the most powerful film I've seen in decades. And yes, the soundscape is absolutely amazing.
It seems to me - that _Lucky_ was made as a tribute to Harry Dean Stanton by people who respected him. He's been in all kinds of movies as a supporting actor and I guess they just wanted to give him a Starring Role in something.
It is a touching film.

Always liked him in the David Lynch Series an movies. One thing that always stood out with me was the Fire Walk with me film where the FBI agents are investigating the dirt mound they find a ring and the camera pans to him, he says/ If I remember correctly, "I've been to a lot of places, and seen a lot of things" I don't want to see any more. And years later David Bowie turns into a Tea pot. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Her to kick A** and chew bubblegum...and I'm all out of bubblegum. One of the best lines and best fight scenes.
That piano scene with adrien Brody calling back to the pianist is 👌👌👌

Also, the Zone of Interest is unlike any movie I've ever seen and definitely unlike any movie I've ever heard.
Either headphones or a nice home theater system is absolutely necessary for it.

Good picks, I'll add a series that's been overlooked for some reason, perhaps because the subject is somewhat overwrought, called "Generation Kill"

Speaking of Peter Berg, I've never heard you mention the Kingdom from 2007. That movie made me sick to my stomach at points. Solid wartime movie.
I never would’ve watched bullet head especially with such a low rating score but thanks to this channel I did and really enjoyed it .

You are correct! Zone of Interest......The background sounds you hear....my God! That makes the movie. And how the family goes about life as if barking dogs, screams, and gunshots are the norm. Crazy! And I used a portable Bose speaker.
The first two Infernal Affairs movies are great and the third one is good, but it's a little confusing. The characters arcs are really interesting.

It depends, but in my theater I have big over the ear Audio Technicas that work great.

Missed The Zone of Interest when it was here in theaters and wasn’t widely interested but based on the recommendation of using headphones, I’m going to watch it. Deepwater Horizon sounds and looks great! And Infernal Affairs is also going on the list.
Ides of March is a great movie.
I saw it as Reservoir Dogs meets Cujo.
I watched Bullet Head based on this recommendation and I have to say it's WAY better than what I expected.. Solid movie, thank you!.. I'll have to check out some more from this list 👌

Peter Berg is such a clever director and actor. I cant believe i never knew about him directing Patriot Day or Deep Water Horizon.
Kind of new to your channel, but have watched several of your recommendations for Netflix and freebie streamers and have enjoyed them all. Paprika and Hitler/Bigfoot flick were great (and all the others I watched). Since I seem to have a similar taste, I imagine I will be tuning in regularly to check out ones I haven't seen yet. Infernal Affairs is a better movie than The Departed. It is more subtle… and the soundtrack is great. I saw it back in 2004, that’s also probably why The Departed looks more like an American style remake of the original. The two others, IA 2 and 3, and not on the same level as 1. I believe it was the highest grossing Hong Kong action movie… probably ever?! Maybe Darren can look that up.
I rented Coffee & cigarettes bc I heard Jack White was in it. It was interesting.

I am abandoning max due to their volume issues - commercials are 5x as loud as whatever show im watching. I went back to my seafaring pillaging route.

I have always felt that Infernal Affairs was very superior to The Departed for its sheer grittiness and manic action. I didn't know there were two sequels, so I guess I will have to watch all three, lol.
