Hi there! The first and most important thing is that you can restore everything with what you have right now. Even if you lose or break your phone, after you log in to the same Google account on the new one, all the codes will be restored when you turn on the backup (you can also import them manually from the file you created). As for the backup codes, they are issued by the services such as Discord in case you lose your 2FA app and codes, and need to log in (and you're safe from that). Each service has their own backup codes that you have to store on your own on your PC for example. We don't issue those backup codes because they are specific to each service. If you also don't have the backup codes, then I'm afraid Discord support is your only option to restore everything. But I have to warn you from the experience of others, they are reluctant to help with this problem.

With Browser Extension, that would require the app to store the Secret key within the browser, and unfortunately, that's a major security risk since browsers can be easily hacked.

But I think I still don't understand, what's preventing the browser from still communicating with the phone app every time, but just removing the user input for "approve" after the first log-in with a given site? Like I would still take out my phone the first time I log into twitter on my PC, but after 2fas has registered twitter to my specific 2fa code, why can't the computers request to use that code just be auto-approved? Sorry if this is a stupid question

Happy to help! As for your question, it's the same matter of security. Your browser can be taken over, if the app would auto-approve then the hacker would be able to just log in everywhere and do what they like. Also, in general, auto auto-approval in security systems is... not recommended because it's the opposite of the highest security.

And you're not logged anywhere else?

The most important thing is to not click the remember button in the app. This way, whenever you use the BE, you'll be able to choose the token you want.

Hi! You can use the Browser Extension on MacOS without any problems.

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do on your side now. Only Discord has access to restoring the accounts and they don't seem to like doing it. There is always a chance though, so please reach out to them.

@@2FAS I deleted everything on my phone, and when I logged into my Gmail account, they send a code to my phone that consists of 6 numbers. I enter 6 numbers, and when I log in, they send the code to the account that I lost.

You should probably contact official Google Auth support with the problem, because it's strictly related to their app and only they can help you.

Hello, if you've lost all devices that were connected to the account and don't have access to the 2FA codes, then I'm afraid the account is lost. We can't restore it, only Discord support can now.

Currently there are no plans for a standalone desktop app. We're focusing on other important projects.

Yes it still requires the phone to be present, but it autofills the code in the Browser. So it's just a matter of preference in the end.

And why is that 😅?

If you only deleted it from the list, then it's safely stored in Settings --> Trash. You can restore it from there.

Could you clarify what you're asking about?

If the Google Auth app doesn't have the trash that allows you to restore deleted codes, then you should either contact someone from Google Auth or try to restore the account by contacting your email provider.

If you still have access to the account, then follow the instrucitons from the video from 2:00 onward. This process will let you see your backup codes and use them.

But if I have to login in my account I have to type 8 digit back up code which I don't have please help me

Hmmm have you checked any crypto.com forums or servers where such a problem was discussed? Because it seems to be an issue on their side. Hi, I'm afraid that if you don't have any access to another device that was logged on your account, the backup codes and 2FA codes are lost and Discord doesn't want to help resolve the situation, the only option left is to create a new account. Unfortunately we can't surpass Discord support on this and can't restore your account from our end.

If the service asks you for a 2FA code when logging in, it must mean that you have enabled it in the past. For example, in another 2FA app, through SMS or Email. So, please make sure to check whether you receive these codes somewhere else.
