    Where is the backup file on the drive?
    I can't find anything related to 2FAS on the drive.

    • @2FAS
      @2FAS  Před 2 měsíci +2

      That's because it's hidden and only accessible by the app in order to improve security.

    There is a need for a button within the application to be able to reset the cloud synchronization password, I can't do it, it asks me and I have forgotten it.

    • @2FAS
      @2FAS  Před 9 měsíci

      There already is an option to do this in the app on or the Google drive side.

    Have you made the iCloud synchronization video yet? I'd like to share it with an elderly iPhone user friend.

    • @2FAS
      @2FAS  Před 8 měsíci +1

      No, we haven't made that video yet. But to be honest, there isn't much to explain there. The 2FAS app does the backup of the codes to a private folder on your iCloud that can't be accessed by anyone else. And when it's needed, the codes are restored from there.

    My phone has been stolen, so I don't have access to my tokens any more. But I had enabled the google drive 2FA Backup.
    So now, I have my new phone, I installed 2FA app. But I have a big problem : I don't remember my google drive files password. So my tokens are just there but I can't access to them. I don't know what to do... There isn't any way to change this password without destroying my tokens on the drive ?

    • @2FAS
      @2FAS  Před 3 dny

      Changing passwords doesn't delete anything from your drive, as Dhavan explained on our Discord 😁

    How do I restore tokens from Google drive onto iPad? Thank you.

    • @2FAS
      @2FAS  Před 8 měsíci

      You can export the codes to a .json file store them on a computer and then Import them to the new device.

  • @dp27thelight9

    I tested export/import from file and it doesn't work.
    Frustrating that only cloud works for backup.

    • @2FAS

      That's weird - export/import file should work also. Please, send us more details here or on support@2fas.com - we'll bo more than happy to help! 🙂

    As I have iOS AND Android devices, would be nice to be able to sync my iPad with Google Drive rather than iCloud so I can use 2FAS with my iPad or my Android Phone
    And vice et versa : sync with iCloud on my Android Phone
    Or Even on my own server like NextCloud
    Thanks

    • @2FAS
      @2FAS  Před 3 měsíci +1

      You can connect different operating systems manually through exporting the codes on one device and importing them on the second device.

      @@2FAS Thanks. I did this way and as I'm not adding services every day, that conveys to me.

    Hey 2FAS, thanks for your great app, I appreciate your work!
    I use multiple offline smartphones with 2FAS for extra security, thus online sync via gdrive isn't an option for me.
    Exporting to a file is possible but cumbersome. It would be better if I could export the keys to a QR-Code which I could scan with my other offline smartphones, I think Google Authenticator also provides this feature.
    Is this feature on your roadmap anytime soon?
    Thanks again and cheers!

      @@2FAS Could I import from android to backup file and export in another devices included iOS?

    • @2FAS
      @2FAS  Před rokem +2

      Yes, you can. If you export the backup codes to a file and import it on a new device, even with a different operating system, it will work.

    But if my Google account is compromised, couldn't the bad guy install 2FAS and then access my tokens, despite not having direct access to the Google Drive file? 🤔

    • @2FAS
      @2FAS  Před rokem

      In order for the hacker to be able to access your tokens via Drive backup, a few things would have to be done. You'd have to enable Google Drive backup on your device. The hacker would have to be logged into the exact same Google account on his phone, download the app and also enable Google Drive backup. So while it is possible and your Google account is compromised, the last thing you should do is send stuff into this Google account.

    • @getnplay

      @@2FASbut you also have option to add a password to that backup file
      So why this can't be use here?

    • @yaakovwaxman4807
      @yaakovwaxman4807 Před 4 měsíci

      @getnplay Google drive backups can be password protected. This would prevent a hacker who has access to your google account from accessing your 2fa tokens. Not sure why the 2fas account didnt mention this.
