Honestly, for me, the fact Discord can't let someone log in without these in a situation of total lock-off is kinda of dumb, other apps using 2FA usually have some kind of emergency bypass to let ppl in case they lose access to 2FA, I know for sure steam does have such emergency access usually in form of 1-time codes sent via email, and Discord should really consider adding an emergency solution like this too
Since problems with Discord are among the most frequent we receive, we wholeheartedly agree that there should be a recovery option for the users.
@@2FAS yeah like currently struggle with such problem myself and so far discord support couldn't help me, so I'm 2nd day locked off my account, and hope i won't need to wait till next major Discord update to be able to get back in, as starting new account is not an option inm

Could you guys add a space on your app for saving backup codes of every service?
Even though it seems like a good idea at first, when you think about it it doesn't make sense - in case you'll loose access to your phone or 2FAS app, you'll need your backup codes to restore your accesses. So you should always keep your backups on a different devices ✌️
So my PC died on me, and that's where my backup codes were saved to. I then stupidly logged out of my account to switch to my alt, and when I tried to log back into my main, it of course asked for the 2FA code. I don't have access and I've emailed support multiple times and each person says they can't help me access it due to privacy reasons. Is there any possibile way around this or is Discord's security too good to bypass?
Unfortunately, Discord doesn't have a 2FA recovery system (we don't know why, because it is a standard among other services). So we can't do much on our side 😕

If none of the options you mentioned are available, included the forgotten device with login still available, am I screwed?
Then, unfortunately, Discord support is your only hope. You have to contact them about the restoration of your account.

I've lost everything. I've lost my friends in discord and i cannot recover any kind of way my account. how roblox could fix my issues with 2FA/Step two factor authentication and remove it and discord is unable to because they don't have the ability to get in account and disable this Step two factor authentication. I've been 2017 joined to discord and I'm losing a high value account and with a lot of friends. I've lost it all. this is stupid
We have received many reports of such situations, and the solutions that are possible from our side are in the video. As for Discord customer service claiming that they "can't disable 2FA", we can't do anything about that because we have no control over Discord. This is why storing all codes in the cloud is so important, especially if you only use Discord on one device.
I got flagged as being a potential bot (because I sent a bunch of friend requests to some people I wanted to hang out with in rapid succession). I verify that I’m not a robot, and everything seems normal.
Then I open the app back up later and it turns out I’ve been locked out for “suspicious activity” and am being forced to reset my password.
I have my 2FA set to use my phone number, not any codes. So when I try to reset my password, it asks me to verify the changes… with a code. Not my phone number. I have no codes to enter in, so I have no way of resetting the account and getting back into my account.
Is there ANY way to get back into the account? Or even another method to reset my password without relying on a code I don’t have? Maybe a way to procure a code to enter in? Anything?
If you connect 2FA to your phone number, it means that Discord will send you an SMS with a code to type. Your phone number is not a code because that would be extremely unsafe.
I remember my password correctly I logged in many times. But now it says "Reset your password".They sent email but I forgot my gmail account password. What should I do? I don't know where do i have to start from
Well, step by step you have to recover all those passwords by any means (with Gmail first) and then a good thing would be to save all of them in a password manager so that you won't ever loose them again.

I've asked Discord support for a long time, yet they don't seem to have the option to disable two-factor authentication on their part? Please explain, so that i can try to recover my account without shouting into a brick wall.
Hi, I'm afraid that if you don't have any access to another device that was logged on your account, the backup codes and 2FA codes are lost and Discord doesn't want to help resolve the situation, the only option left is to create a new account. Unfortunately we can't surpass Discord support on this and can't restore your account from our end.

Only Discord support can restore your account now, you have to contact them.

Has it happened to you before? Because the set of backup codes will only work once and then you have to generate new ones. That may be the issue here.
What happens when you're logged out of all devices??
If you're logged out everywhere and delete the codes, then access to that account is lost unless Discord support manually turns off 2FA on your account.

It's not there because Discord automatically sends the code to your mail. You don't need to click it. So please check your email and the codes will be there.
What if i am not logged in from another device, i have the email, and password, for my discord account?
Then you have to contact Discord support, only then can help in this situation.
My phone broke and I have the email and password for the account and the account has 2fa I tried many ways but it didn't work You have a way to remove 2fa from the account ?
Have you enabled backup in the app before the phone broke? If yes, just re-enable it and the codes will be restored. If no, only Discord can turn off 2FA from your account, so you have to contact them.

You have to contact their support team and explain the situation. After that, it's up to them if they will turn off 2FA on your account. We have no control over their support.

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do on your side now. Only Discord has access to restoring the accounts and they don't seem to like doing it. There is always a chance though, so please reach out to them.

If you haven't created a cloud backup and Discord support isn't helping then, unfortunately, there isn't.

Hello, if you've lost all devices that were connected to the account and don't have access to the 2FA codes, then I'm afraid the account is lost. We can't restore it, only Discord support can now.

What if i dont have any other device logged in my dc account! I logged out of my phone before this happend then i logged out of my tabelt to check smth on my other acc , then i forgot my 2fa! And i dont have any other device logged in soo:< i even contacted discord but they kept saying the stuff u said to like have another acc logged in blah blah blah but i dont so i probably lsot that i account but i want that accoutn because i have some special friends there which we dont have any other app that we can talk too! We met on discord and became friends and theyre so important to me! Please make a video about how to disable ur 2fa if u dont have another device logged in! Honestly, the 2fa is just dumb i never knew why i did it.
If a service doesn't have a recovery system in place (like Discord) and refuses to reset the protection of the account, then there's nothing we can do in this situation. We don't have control over their service, and we don't store your account data out of respect for the privacy of our users.

in simple terms, if you lost your 2fa in your account, it is practically a lost discord account, right?
Only Discord support can help you then, so its up to them.
I have a small problem, I forgot my password, I am logged into the account, but I no longer remember the password.
Then we can't help you. We don't have any passwords. You either have to contact Discord support or try to guess the password until you'll get it right.

In the same place you enabled 2FA for your discord account. Click the gear icon at the bottom left of the Discord app, and in the first window that opens (My account) there will be an option to turn off 2FA.
What if we don't logged into the other devices 😢why tf discord having so much complications they can simply put sms services like other tech giants 😢
I just want 2fa backup codes i even e-mailed discord to reset my 2fA but they are saying as usual (we don't store people's data and other.... ) & labh! labh! labh! 😒

I have logged my discord account into my PC some months ago, and my PC's hardrive got currpt and boom 💥 i don't have any PC at this time. so i don't even bother because I really don't needed that account at that point ☝️ and it was sudden incident that my PC gets shutdown permanently 😭

My phone gets malware and hacker hacked my phone i reset it and now i really want that discord account.
Discord install - sign in - email✔️ password ✔️ shows incorrect -forgot password -reset link send to mail - new password entered - next slide-then this F**kinn (put 6digit or 8 digit back up code )
Google authenticator because i reset my device , it's gone in my authenticator the cloud synchronisation was not an option that time or i didn't find.

So you didn't use 2FAS for securing Discord but used Google Authenticator? Then your Pc got burned and phone hacked and you lost the Google Authenticator codes and now can't log in into Discord. That's the whole timeline?

Well... yhen we can't really help you since you've used another 2FA app and didn't use any of our systems. For the future in our or other apps always use the cloud backup system. That way you'll never lose any codes.

If you have cleared your data without making a backup, the only thing you can do now is contact Discord, explain the situation and ask them to disable 2FA on your account.

My account got hacked by an ex-friend who proceeded to lock me out of my account after deleting phone number verification and telling me to delete the 2FA cus "he changed it to another app" 😢
For extra pain points: i had 0.78 BTC on that account in a 1 user group chat

If you still have access to the account, then follow the instrucitons from the video from 2:00 onward. This process will let you see your backup codes and use them.
But if I have to login in my account I have to type 8 digit back up code which I don't have please help me

Damn that was a good idea checking what other devices I was logged into I remembered my Old Android phone... and for a moment i was in it... then it updated and logged me out and my old laptops are out of the question as my nephew Harvested the Hard Drives of every laptop in my possession that were either Broken or Didn't work.
Had my phone not needed to updated that would have been a MAJOR pain out of the way.

@@2FAS so I lost my old phone which the 2fa code and login info, and now when I try to log into my account it as for code which I can't asses as my old phone is lost, and i can't disable 2fa like you show, as to disable it I need to login into my account first (hope it make sense, English isn't my first language)
If you're on Android and haven't made a cloud backup, then the only thing you can do now is contact the Discord support and ask them to temporarily turn of 2FA (and explain the situation. If you're on iOS, then the codes are stored in the cloud automatically. All you have to do is connect the app to the same account (make sure that cloud synch is enabled). and everything will be restored.

If you also don't have the backup codes, then I'm afraid Discord support is your only option to restore everything. But I have to warn you from the experience of others, they are reluctant to help with this problem.

If you had backup enabled before you reset the phone, the only thing you need to do is enable it again. The codes will be restored.
And ignore those messages, these are bots.
