How to recover your Discord account with lost Authenticator / Backup code | Part 2

    In this video I'm going to show you, how you can recover your Discord account if you lost your phone or your authenticator app generating the 2FA codes. This is an update or Part 2, call it whatever you wanna call it. I still recommend you to check my previous video on "How to recover your Discord account with lost Authenticator / Backup code" and try those methods shown in there for first. So make sure to stick around till the end of this video, to find out how you can recover your Discord account.
    As I mentioned in the comment section of my previous video on "How to recover your Discord account if you lost your two factor authentication", there is a new way to do this which I'm about to show you in this video.

    Ive been trying this for more than a year now and I don't think they do this anymore. They keep sending me the same message saying they can't remove the 2FA no matter how much proof I give them. Is there a different method to this?

    Thank u, after going back and forth with the support, I managed to get my account back. I convinced them that my account was hacked, I am not going to use two factor ever again to risk any of this happening ever again, maybe in the future but definitely not at the moment, thank you for this video it really helped me. Just write whatever he tells u to in the video and u are good to go 👍

    I faced this problem and here's everything that happened in my case, entirely detailed:-
    I thought I'd say something different to make it look less formal but I didn't instead, I wrote everything, word-to-word, as shown in the video. I got an instant reply asking me to confirm further inquiry, I replied with "I agree, please continue", after 3 hours, I received another mail, saying the 2FA has been removed and I'll have to reset my password and log in. It worked one hundred percent. Cheers my lord.
    UPDATE: Yeah it's been a year and it doesn't work anymore

    I have emailed them this exact thing over 3 weeks ago and they have been everything but helpful. They have claimed that they cannot help me get my account back, that disabling 2FA is not something they are capable of, and after I mentioned the fact that I’ve heard of them helping others with this situation and asking why I have been the exception, they have proceeded to ignore my emails for the past 2 weeks.
    I really need my account back. I had 4 years worth of notes and hard work saved on it and my mental health is honestly depending on getting that account back.

    Thank you so much! I really hope I'll get the help from the support. I have been hacked and first I did not even assume it was the case when I clicked a link, seemed so 'official'. Then it was enough to getting kicked out from every device and platform and right after that I've noticed continous purchases. I did not mention this in my ticket when I wrote because I already sent it but I'll definitely add it when I have the response from the support and pray that I'll get it back.

      @@PaulTechLink I got it back! Currently working on getting back the money they've spent on my account. I've screenshotted everything about the purchases, the account block from purchases so they asked nothing from me. They thanked the attached files I've sent and I currently sending them - aside from purchase history - the links and the ID which connected to the hack.
      The support was very friendly and helpful, I can't believe. Thank you for the video, without you I do not think I'd find the way for this.

      @@saintbutunholy that's great! I'm glad you managed to solve the issue. The thing is with them, they are suspicious on these support tickets as it has to do with your account security. But if you provide all the correct info, they normally help you out. How did the hackers managed to spend money on your account anyway? Did they had access to your email as well? or phone number? Don't you have some kind of 2FA set for your cards as well?

      @@PaulTechLink I think that it's really important to provide more detail and if you can, attach images so they can look into it fast and smooth.
      Well my PayPal was connected to my Discord, so they can automatically gift and buy things, since PayPal does not ask me to confirm the purchase for some reason - weird because I use it often and anywhere else it requires, I use Nitro 3 years now and also boost server -.
      This is how they managed to do that. Only 3 purchase was succesful, the other attempts (6 another) were unsuccesful, they tried it once again 4-5 hours later.
      So even if I'd have protection on my PayPal - which I actually have - for some reason if I purchase or gift something on Discord it does not ask me to confirm the purchase. Weird, but maybe this is why they can do such a things.

      @@saintbutunholy oh, right.. I get it.. I though they were using your bank cards. Paypal does have some 2FA only for your login but they do not request permission for transactions if you have funds on it

    Hello everyone.
    If the Discord support team is responding with anything that leads to not getting your account back, wait a week or two and submit another ticket and keep doing this till you find a reasonable person. It worked for me, thank you a ton man.

    They got back to me and said: *"I'm very sorry to hear that you got locked out of your account. Unfortunately, we aren't able to remove two-factor authentication from accounts due to security reasons, and the only way you'll be able to regain access is if you saved the backup codes from inside Discord when you initially set up the two-factor authentication. If you don't have access to these codes, then you'll have to create a new account."* So I'm officially screwed 😢😩😧

      for some reason they are suspicious on your accounts activity.. you should maybe wait a bit more and then submit another ticket. And make sure you follow the exact same steps like in the video. If you insert the wrong details, they won't help you

    After reviewing on the backend, there are no signs that your account got compromised, so we aren't able to remove two-factor authentication from your account due to security reasons, and the only way you'll be able to regain access is if you saved the backup codes from inside Discord when you initially set up the two-factor authentication. If you don't have access to these codes, then you'll have to create a new account

    Thanks for the update.

    Sadly, our system only gives us the option to remove the 2FA on accounts if the account in question was compromised. Since the case happened a couple of months ago, our system no longer shows traces that your account was hacked so the option to remove the 2FA on it is unavailable.

    I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience but let me know if you have any other questions.

    I tried this a month ago and their support team won't stop sending me useless replies. "Have you tried looking for back up codes?" "Can you send screen shots of what you see?" etc. And half of their questions I already answered. I wish they'd just be upfront and say they won't fix it or they'd handle it like they did in the video. :( Thank you for the help!

    Okay, now this guy, he is legit in what he is doing and how he is explaining. More than anything, this definitely earns a like and a subscribe. I kid you not, this helped me to regain my account after it completely locked me out completely. Just like most people, I had no damn access to my 2FA authorization codes and it made me pissed off. Once I did this process, I continued to email the support team to explain the situation and they were able to remove the 2FA and let me reset my password completely. Trust me, it does work and I wish Discord wasn’t assholes about having to remove the 2FA. Stupid, especially when you have either email and/or phone connected to one account.

      HOWWW, they didn't remove the authentication for me! I still needed them and ofc I hadn't. that's how I ended up on here. they just further removed my access from the account, and now I absolutely have no control over it. It's just like I need to log in again, which I obviously couldn't!

      “Thank you for reaching out to us! I understand that you are trying to recover your account. However, you are required to provide the backup codes in order to get back to your account.

    it's been roughly 2 years since i've lost my account with 2FA. sending emails regarding the 2FA never really worked, but i've never tried saying the account has been hacked.       You have to reset your password. They normally send a link to where you can do that or you can just do it by yourself by using the "forgot password" option

    So after emailing Discord & them saying they cannot remove 2Fa due to security reasons, AND seeing all the latest actual comments saying the same thing and that Discord isn't finding signs of a compromised account, this method probably doesn't and wont work anymore. I guess Discord caught on and actually started investigating instead of just disabling 2fa after the "well the hacker enabled it not me" got common. If anyone's had luck recently though, lmk

      don't know.. it seems like a random thing.. I get comments everyday from people that do actually manage to recover their account. So it's one of the 2 things, either people are inserting the wrong data when submitting the request or the discord support team has doubts whether the request is legit or not

      for some reason they are suspicious on your accounts activity.. you should maybe wait a bit more and then submit another ticket. And make sure you follow the exact same steps like in the video. If you insert the wrong details, they won't help you

    I have legit tried everything as of right now, this is my last resort, I even have the backup codes but they dont work when using them, I only cant access my phone with the 2FA because it got stolen or I lost it but I have discord backup codes in my PC yet they dont work for allowing me to log in, tried literally everything so now I wrote to support as I found your video, I will keep you updated and ow man god bless you if this works out I have spent way too much time on this and I need the data I have from the account. Will keep you updated how it went, thanks for the guide sir. Im willing to pay solid money for getting my account back.     I did this, but they didn't turn my 2FA off temporarily. they just further removed the access I yet had, so now I have to log back in, and I have no way to, cause the reset password they sent me, still requires backup codes or authenticator code :///

      Say you clicked a link or executed a program someone sent you, if they ask for it, just say you deleted it. And if it still doesn't work, try again in 1-2 weeks, they disabled 2FA for my account in a few hours (on the first try, they didn't ask me anything).

    I got flagged as being a potential bot (because I sent a bunch of friend requests to some people I wanted to hang out with in rapid succession). I verify that I’m not a robot, and everything seems normal.
    Then I open the app back up later and it turns out I’ve been locked out for “suspicious activity” and am being forced to reset my password.
    I have my 2FA set to use my phone number, not any codes. So when I try to reset my password, it asks me to verify the changes… with a code. Not my phone number. I have no codes to enter in, so I have no way of resetting the account and getting back into my account.
    Is there ANY way to get back into the account? Or even another method to reset my password without relying on a code I don’t have? Maybe a way to procure a code to enter in? Anything?

    Wow just wow. I’ve been logged out of my account for over a year. I thought all was lost. I tried everything. But they wouldn’t remove the 2fa. I tried your steps and they came back with I’m sorry but we cannot remove 2fa you will need your codes to remove it etc… If you would like to delete your account please email back. I replied. Thankyou for your reply. If I enabled 2fa I would of saved my codes but I didn’t the hacker did. I received an email back saying your account is disabled and another email saying we’ve reset your password and removed 2fa. RESULT!!!!!! This method 1000000% works. You just need to keep emailing back making sure you’re saying it wasn’t you who enabled the 2fa it was the hacker!!!!!! Booooooom

      I've seen many of my viewers are still having issues with this, either because they didn't followed the steps like in the video or because they do not know what to reply back. This is still an account security problem, so if the support team has any doubts, they won't restore your account, so that's why is best to reply back like you did, even if they gave you a NO in the first place. Obviously, I cannot do that myself for each one of my viewers.

      @@aaathoms i tried the method in the video, don't bother trying it they won't help you, i made a new one and fortunately enough the server that i was MOD in trusts and loves me too much so they invited me back with my new account and gave me all my roles back especially the SUPERSTAR & SPAM QUEEN, these roles are exclusive to me ❤, i requested to delete my old one so they can give me back my main phone number and email, i recommend making a new one and requesting to delete your old one then update the new one with your main number and email after they delete it, also remember to activate the SMS backup option and take a screenshot of the backup codes on discord for the 2F authentication, goodluck

      @@TrognarTheUnwise It's because I deleted google authenticator in 2020 and forgot to disable 2FA on that account. Now I use authy, it's so much better. If this doesn't work for you, try again in 1-2 weeks, it worked for me on the first try.

    To any new people coming here, THIS DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE. Discord no longer allows support agents to even temporarily disable 2fa as many people abused this to compromise accounts. If you lose 2fa, backup codes, and are not logged in to view the backup codes by entering password, YOUR ACCOUNT IS LOST, AND CAN NEVER BE RECOVERED. But if you use apps like authy, and had enabled backup, then you have a chance. If you forgot the authy backup password or master password, you can always keep trying passwords and you will NOT be locked out for entering too many wrong ones. I am not sure about google authenticator tho, never used it.

      Honestly just keep trying, if one ticket doesn't work and you don't get the response you need, send out another ticket after a week. That's what I did and I got my account back :)

    Honestly Discord Support is just a bunch of bots. Always the same copy paste "oh no we are sorry to tell you but you're fucked".
    They literally gave me the option to DELETE my account. So I can't recover it, even tho I have access to my email and password, but I can delete it.
    makes no damn sense, good video though

    So I tried this and now my account is locked and it told me that I HAVE to have my Authenticator codes or I have to delete my account. Would love a way to resolve this considering I only made the request after watching this video. Now I’m at risk of losing my entire account (which btw I literally use for part of my job)

      for some reason they are suspicious on your accounts activity.. you should maybe wait a bit more and then submit another ticket. And make sure you follow the exact same steps like in the video. If you insert the wrong details, they won't help you

    I sincerely apologize to hear that you do not have access to your Discord account.
    Unfortunately, we can't delete or remove the 2FA from your account, and we don't have any alternative recovery methods at this point in time, either.
    Since Discord does not collect any personal information to tie to the account, our current policy is that your 2FA backup codes (that you download when you enable the 2FA and connect with your mobile device) act as your only form of official verification and proof that you are the owner of the account to disable the 2FA. At this point in time, users must manually choose to use these backup codes to disable the 2FA on their own account and verify/confirm the disabling of the 2FA.
    If you're unable to disable the 2FA and you would like to permanently delete the account, please confirm and explicitly tell me the registered email address that you want to be removed and I'll be more than happy to get the process started for you.

      @@ah-ql6mz I received an automated response a few days ago saying they’ll have to temporarily disable the account (likely to prevent the non-existent hacker from using it) and asked me to respond so they could move forward with it. Other than that, I have not received any further responses as of yet.
