Ashenvale PVP has become a daily in SoD, I hope they get rid of some of the dumb rep farming stuff.

I started WOW just prior to Burning Crusade and played about 3 years and then quit to have kids. Now my kids are early teens and I started back and it has been very fun. I play when it is convenient and when I have something else to do I log out.

Considering how my friends are playing the MOP remix.. I've come to the conclusion many many of the people who still play do so for the drip and mount/pet/toy collection.

Yup. Magic is gone. The proposition of playing a new MMO should feel like you’re going on this shared, grand adventure. Except to me, and many other ex-WoW players, that proposition means losing 90% of my free time, grinding the same content repeatedly until it’s no longer fun, and dealing with toxic players who have made the game their life’s purpose. No thanks MMO, not interested.

for the glaive rogue story, i think it couldve ALL been avoided if they had just played it smart. shouldnt have changed the name, and they shouldnt have actually played on it for a few months atleast. couldve easily avoided a ban by just becoming forgotten for a while.

Wow is definitely a game!

I did a lot of things for my WoW sub back in the day.

Not sure which is worse... Activision's terrible design decisions and terrible #metoo culture, or WoW's terrible fellow players. I enjoyed the heck out of WoW back in the day. Now? I don't want to touch either Activision or other WoW players. They're both filthy.

Have to remember MMOs are locked to only those with PCs and an internet connection. I played back in the day, due to a hilarious series of events, was in my 20s. So I got back in last year Sept., and played a few go rounds of HC, then my IRL buddy told me to level something up. So I leveled a warrior in ERA classic, saw naxx AQ, and leveled a hunter as well from HC start. It's cool that there are still little pockets of people getting geared and progressing in classic ERA for their first time.

Mythic + and Arena provide endlessly replayable source of obstacles that exist independent of BiS itemization.

The FF music reminds me of my time trying to solve those darn puzzles in FF10 lol

Microsoft bought Activision Blizzard a little while ago, and this week Microsoft announced it will be introducing AI into its XBOX games, starting with Minecraft. I know WoW isn't an XBOX game, but I can see some possible uses for AI in WoW. For example, the quest text could be converted into AI-generated audio, unique to each NPC, which audibly speaks your character name as part of the quest text. Also, I would like to see the game allow me to audibly speak "Accept" when a quest appears (or is spoken), and I shouldn't have to click on anything. To induce immersion, I would like to see the gold quest rewards get boosted by 10% if I audibly speak the NPC's name when I "complete" a quest. There should never be any need to click on an NPC if I'm facing them - their audio should start immediately, starting with my name.

Sod is the best for old and new players.. you hit the nail on the head with saying retail is "bloated" it became overwhelming and just "too much" long ago..

I think you would really enjoy the world and progression that has been recreated in the Horizon XI classic plus private server of Final Fantasy XI online. The team has done a great job of presenting the original experience while adding some tweaks that add to the original design vision without sacrificing gameplay integrity. A truly unique and rewarding mmorpg that if you’ve never played this is a great way to experience it. Horizon XI is free very active and easy to get started with their launcher taking care of everything you need. I hope you’ll consider giving it a look at some point as it addresses much of the complaints you and many others have with modern WOW.

Great video homie! I really like the idea of you trying out Runescape and doing a new players take on that game. That said... Runescape is much more of a time sink game than WoW. Not to say it has more content but you will find yourself hving to click trees for 70+ hours and do the farming skill for weeks just to experience a lot of the quests. Again, Great video! Well yea, you never see anyone when leveling, and you have no need to ever speak to anyone you would meet or group up. So when i realized the last time i had fun in wow was when i leveled another outlaw rogue i quit because it took me 5 days to do and im out of classes to level and im not paying 15 bucks a month to have 5-10 days of fun out of it. Because of the fast leveling players already started to wait out for more content to be added and buying the sub sporadically... But what when you are a veteran who doesnt give a shit about anything new added anymore because its lame and the old stuff just gets skipped as you are pushed into the latest expansion again...? I am sitting around looking for a reason to return to the game... and i dont see it. I see them do tehsame shit they did before without any realization what the issues are ( because they make them worse whenever they change asomething)

Being called grand titles is the developers insecurity making them bomb player with them... YEp the world feels dead, not providing challenge because you are overleveled by like 200 levels of power by now... Boosts kill the investment into the game. They are a short gain and a long term loss.

Powwercreep in old zones makes them OBSOLETE. Play gw2 please. You will understand that leveling should work as pacing and unlocking more of the content. Not as a nullificator od the old contents gameplay. This way you get the most game in the game if you know what i mean. Equalizing players power with the mobs isnt perfect because powercreep exists anyway but its a good thing if done backwards because it keeps the game alive even in the old content. The game HAS TO POSE A CHALLENGE or the content isnt a game anymore. leveling should unlock harder mobs and zones for higher level to pace the player in his journey. Not become a mechanism to make the ones you already have access too obsolete for some weak ass ego trip that now you oneshot everything... Yea... Congrats... You broke the game... well done... You can go away now...

It goes against their lazyness, their game that is completable fast throught more money because they got videos to edit and an audience of casuals to tell what they want to hear - that leveling is boring and bad and only thing that matters is the parses of the most recent raid...

level boost are not for new players but people farming raids, wanting to get around the lockout of once per week, bc its per toon. normally power boost a class they already understand how to play. although, marketed poorly.

I'm both a WoW, and an OSRS player. The quests in RS are really uh, idk how to describe it, unique or inspired compared to WoW. Some of them remind me of like those old point and click games where it's more about solving a puzzle rather than doing the normal game play. And a lot of them the stories are actually funny (British humor of course). Like in classic WoW, in RS you're a nobody, you're just some adventurer and not some chosen hero. I'd really recommend trying it out if you got a lot of time on your hands (it is quite grindy). As a bonus as a content creator you can basically do the reverse of Jimmy's video

What new players think of wow? they think this old ass game is easy, they know everything in two days and start making "new" tactics by themselves for every aspect of the game, like they know better but in reality they are trying to "invent the wheel" and ruining their own experience by not following simple rules. The game is known for more than a decade but new players think they will re open it and playing it new ways and never listen.

I've been playing through Cataclysm, and I really feel a lot of the pain points that were brought up in this video. While I understand Jimmy omitting this, I wish that MadSeasonShow had commented on how heirlooms completely destroyed the game. If you play SoD or Classic Era, loot in dungeons is exciting. I see myself at the bottom of the DPS meter entering a dungeon on the lower end of the scale, but a couple of levels and gear upgrades later, I find myself at the top. In Cataclysm, I'm always at the bottom simply because the gear I have from questing and dungeoneering is nowhere near as good as the heirloom gear that everyone else is decked out in. Running a dungeon in Classic Era or SoD feels like an adventure. Running a dungeon in Cataclysm feels like a race to the finish with me struggling to keep up with the tank, who is not even waiting for the current pull to finish before moving onto the next one.

50:30 I am totally an altaholic too, I think a big reason leveling progression felt better than end game progression in my opinion is that acquiring new abilities and integrating them into your kit/rotation felt so much more fun to acquire than simple stats on gear that only effect your characters power output. If they made it so gear or a gear set gave you new abilities (kind of like permeant runes in SOD) then I think I would have stuck around the end game a lot longer than I did.

as having played both runescape back in the day and then having changed to wow and then eventually leaving every expac and after all that time going back to osrs for a bit but then quitting because it just took way too much of my time,I think its safe to say it's hard for both these games to attract 'new' players and probably most of the playerbase is just based on nostalgia reasons I play classic wow or SoD now, for a bit every phase for the rewarding loot feeling and amazing raids with other people and i might get back into osrs for that ultimate 'level up' high even when you mostly feel like content is solo based anyways (no matter how many people are walking around next to you). I think the biggest problem of all is just having an actual life and not enough time to sink in both these games and just feeling almost guilty while sinking too much time in both these amazing games

Almost every encounter was a puzzle while leveling in 2005. Every class had different tools for solving. It was risky and you really could die to the Defias by deadmines. A lot. That's why I love classic leveling.

52:00 that is definitely the reason why i didnt enjoy leveling in bfa not even adding the fact that they added a bunch of spells to the global cooldown. the fact that at the end of legion my character felt better to play than ever doesnt help either.

Another note.... I have really had no issue with the token. You want to apent that money, fine. Personally, i like the journey. I learn the character I'm playing as i progress learning along the way. Get bored, rinse and repeat on a new class/race and atart from lvl 1 in a new zone. Some places/quest/whatever are new to me. Hel, my first alt wasnt until Wrath. And my first horde character was this year, so a totally new experience. (BE lock and rogue, 2 classes ive never played before). The Exciles Reach is okay (played it both sides just to see it from different prospectives). Sorta meh but it does it job efficiently well for getting to 10 quickly, thats about it. I still prefer the original zones tho. My recommendationa for a brand new player lvl1 starting zone. Back story for lore starts there and take your time. Explore. Way easier to explore now. No more death runs from darnassus to stormwind, altho i do miss that a wee bit. Have fun.
