    Great video, but I haven't found the exact answer to my question. I have a front panel that can fit either x3 120mm fans or x2 140mm fans If the fans performance is relatively identical, which setup would be more benefitial? Since you can only fit two of 140mm, would 120mm extra fan overpower 140mm setup?

    Hi, I'm doing so diving and came across this. Figured I'd ask you incase you might know or could point me towards a solution. Assuming identical fans what setup is expected to move more air, 3x 120mm or 2x 140mm? Comparing the area of the circles 120 = 11309.73, 140 = 15393.8. 3x120 = 33929.19, 2x140 = 30787.6. Of course this involves alot of assumption regarding fan speed. where a configuration with larger fans could operate at lower speeds and for a small sacrifice of airflow might be much quieter.

    So if you run a 140mm at the same RPM you were running a 120mm at, ie. say 120mm was 1000 RPM - and then you ran the 140mm at 1000 RPM, the 140 will then cool MORE at that RPM - but will it be louder? The motor engine for example?

    A Cooler Master NR200 will fit (barely and only if no glass panel) a UH-12A but it cannot fit a UH-D15. My thoughts are this is good for a small form factor computer that can squeeze it in.

    TBT 2010 i used the 120mm from arctic to mount them on a Mora 2 Radiator -they have been the strongest and cheapest too back in 2010. Now i just purchased the 280mm AIO Freezer 3 from AC and was wondering if i can replace them because they drill max at 1700 rpm "only" but are labeled at 1900 rpm - i guess it depends on how they are positioned upside down and so on.... anyhow i gues you saved my time and money maybe to . i just will ask AC why my fans dont spin at 1900rpm as labeled - its confusing - their data sheet says its a DC fan but with pwm ?

  • @Sugalime3D_FPV
    @Sugalime3D_FPV Před 2 měsíci

    The problem is that the cases are made for 140 AND 120 mounting. But that's often bad because the holes or cutout are usually only for 120 fans. Holes snf mounting for only 140 mm fans would be better. And if you want to use your 120 mm fans, you should just use cheap adapter...

    In my country, hardware store employees compare CPU cooling using torture tests like Cinebench on CZcams channels. According to the results, the liquid inside liquid cooling systems gradually heats up during long-term use, causing the CPU to lower its frequency as a protective measure. And this cannot be overcome even with larger fan-equipped liquid cooling systems.Eventually, the liquid inside closed-loop systems starts to boil. CZcamsrs sponsored by liquid cooling often publish short-term test results, which people respond to. Yes, liquid cooling appears to perform better in the first few hours. But as the match prolongs, things change. Testers recommend at least a 4-copper-pipe tower-type air cooling system. The most hassle-free results are obtained with a system mounted in a case with constant fresh air and mesh type. The negatives of liquid cooling include not creating any airflow to cool motherboard components, requiring maintenance, being prone to malfunctions, high prices, and having a short lifespan. Think about it; these people are sellers and they're saying not to buy liquid cooling. I'll leave you the video link, but the language spoken is Turkish. There are more videos on this topic on their channels, and the results remain the same. Match Result: Copper-pipe tower-type cooling 1, Liquid Cooling 0. czcams.com/video/F7tcNgezjYA/video.htmlsi=q94NuBsNlRm6BwpI

    Most people will think that this video is unnecessary but I disagree! I actually have three NZXT Elite liquid coolers, the 240, 280 and 360, sitting on my shelf as we speak along with the Noctua NH-D15 chromax in black. I've had them for over a week trying to figure out what to do. I have been an air cool builder for 30+ years (1990) and a while back the liquid coolers came out and then started fading away but because of the newer high end i9 Intel CPU's, they appear to be making a comeback. My next concern is that the MSi motherboard I bought has five M.2 slots which over time I will be adding more drives too so what to do? To be honest, I'd rather stay with air cooling but hate the thought of having to remove the fan heat sink once i have it installed whereas the NZXT, I can work around. You builders out there, please give me your honest opinions on these options and concerns Thank you all in advance...

    I loved your video and it explained a lot. I still need to ask, using a MSI MEG B550 Unify X and PC4000 RAM has shown me just how easy it is to overclock an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X Vermeer 3.7GHz normal to 4.7GHz. At that point I decided to search CZcams and Google to answer a question, will a 240mm watercooler be good enough to cool this setup. The answer came back, NO , I would need at least a 280mm water cooler specifically NZXT Kraken 280 or better a 360mm watercooler as you have shown. Noctua's D15 was listed also as a good choice. yet no one took into account overclocking. With todays latest GEN processors AMD 7700X thru 7950X3D series and Intel Core i7 and i9 12th/13th and now 14th GENthat run even hotter at stock I use both a Nocua D14 (for a 5700X not overclocked) and D15 (for an Intel 13700K not overclocked yet) The motherboard for this 13700K is an ASUS Maximus Z690 Hero DDR5 so I might overclock it. I'm not showing off or trying to impress anyone. I've worked on computers since the late 1980's and have 2 40+ year old sons that share or give me their hand me downs. So what I am asking and I noticed you used the latest GEN Noctua D15 ( I'm still using several original model D15's that don't have as many heat pipes) Do you believe these latest Noctua D15 would be good enough, taking into account using a computer case allowing for good cooling either for water or air cooling examples of cases are Fractal design Meshify 2 XL, Torrent, Corsair 5000D or an original Lian Li Lancool II MESH with the MSI MEG UNIYY X well vented. I "Subscribed", Clicked the "Bell" and chose "All" your video's hoping to get more on this. I know I'm asking alot still your advise would be greatly appreciated.

    *48°C vs 51.85°C for 185 watt draw is not a huge gap.(roughly 4°C). So, eleiminating the bottom half does seem right when the gap is that tiny. The Deep Cool Castle 280EX should've stayed IN the list.* *Remember, only 20-ish percent of users want a whisper quiet machine when putting their CPU under 100% load. Most of us EXPECT the fans to ramp up and be loud when we are doing heavy demand tasks.*

    I got to point out that the graphs you are using are misleading. The scale which the X and Y axis indicate are not correct for a good comparisson take 1:52 for example. It looks like the 140 fans produce about 33% more noise, but there is only a mere 2 decibel difference. I liked the vid tho, but be careful with these kind of graphs.

    • @HardwareScientist
      @HardwareScientist Před 8 měsíci

      Decibels are logarithmic so 2dba can be quite a big difference, but regardless the graphs aren’t supposed to show percentage differences, just differences between the products

    I used to run a custom loop in a HAF-X so no problems with airflow etc. Then I decided to downsize and switched to an MSI MAG Coreliquid 360R which is where my problems began. After I bought it , I read about the Sediment problem but it worked fine until a couple of months ago when my PC would shut down when I was playing a video game. This got worse and worse until I had to stop using it to avoid frying the CPU. Reluctantly I ordered a used Noctua NH D15 Chromax which is a big ugly brute but I was able to ditch a lot of wires and the radiator which improved airflow massively of course. I can't be bothered to RMA the 360R so I will flush it and keep it as backup.

    My problem with Noctua it that their visual design still stuck in early 2000th, Jesus when will they change outer case look and will give more color than black and ugly skin and wood pallete? When they will add RGB LEDs ??? Noctua get with times, no matter how good you perform, you are ugly as hell, so go prettify yourself with some fancy led rings that looks as good as Cooler Master !

    I have 3x A14 Chromax as intake and 1x P14 arctic pwm ARGB + a 360 Arctic aio as exhaust (case is Enthoo pro tempered), everything is brand new (literally less than a month of life, I assembled it last week) I immediately tested them and at 100% pwm both the P14 argb and the 3x P14 pwm of the aio sound like a breeze, you hear them but it's so subtle that a pair of closed headphones (or the constant sound of italian cicadas outside my house) will cancel the sound. Meanwhile... the 3 Chromax at 100% sound literally like a Focke Wulf 190 taking off (or a Spitfire with the griffon engine if you prefer)... I could hear them even with headphones on and all the cicadas of the world throwing a party, at first I even thought they were touching something or the screws were too tight. They cannot be all 3 faulty fans, one I'd understand, but 3 new noctuas faulty? I'd go buy a lottery ticket. I know they pull a bit more air at a lower speed and they should last a lifetime compared to others, but the sound difference is really big, I don't keep the case fans at 100% obviously so this is not a real issue, but I'm tempted to return the Noctuas, get my kidney back, and buy 4x P14 pwm to swap them (I have an additional empty slot) to test it, maybe it's the intake filters that makes them more noisy... even tho I saw videos of an A14 spinning without hindrances and the prop airplane sound was the same...
