Hello! I very appreciate your way of reviewing: your relaxing and serious voice without annoying, redundant teenage hyperboles of most youtubers. Finally an adult approach reviewer. Your videos are essential but pleasant and informative, without fancy framings, seductive and trendy music, sponsors, which make a lot of videos ads rather than reviews. You inspire professionalism, taking care of visuals of your videos and graphs, and being sober at same time. Besides, i finally found the comparison i was looking for beetween two coolers i was considering to choose.
However, despite all this good elements to prefer you as reference point, it could be done a criticism: how do you get your results? What tests do you use for stressing your cpu? Do you use a test on a real cpu, or do you apply heatsinks on a heat electric generator (sorry i don't know how it calls...)? I care to be clear: i like very much you don't spend too time explaining boring details of testing procedure a lot of reviews show, but don't you think we should know how you do your tests? At least you could inform us in a short written description you could copy under every your cooler test video, if you don't like to repeat. However, nice to know your "voice" in hardware.

    • @HardwareScientist
      @HardwareScientist  Před 4 lety +3

Thanks for the kind comment! I use a real CPU stress test with power limits to make it output a specific wattage. I will be working on a video going over my test procedure right after my next review!

@@HardwareScientist thanks for your reply : ). It would be very useful to us knowing how you do that. I'll watch your next videos. However, the comparison i was looking for was just between Fuma 2 and Arctic freezer 34...you fallen in the right moment! I appreciate a lot your division in classes (top, midrange, budget) choosing just the coolers i was curious to see in competition. Could i suggest you another budget cpu cooler? It is the Silentiumpc Fortis 3 HE1425 v2. It's a Polish company and seems to be very underrated and ignored. Reviews one will be able to find are not so recent, sometimes a bit old, and there are insufficient for me. I would like to watch you testing it.

Really great review. Best CPU cooler reviews I've seen. I have a suggestion for some video content. Maybe a series like HS recommended CPU for Ryzen 3rd gen and another for Intel. Just to take the guesswork out for some people who want a quick rundown - because it can be really confusing with all these cpu coolers and all the different price ranges. Anyway, keep it up and well done.

Great video, thanks! Your production value is high, but i just have some constructive criticism. You don’t have a lisp or anything, but its apparent you either don’t have a pop filter or don’t mix your audio prior to uploading. You should think about either torrenting FL Studio (the free version does great, you just can’t save projects. No problem if you get it all done in one session which is easy), or torrenting izotope RX7. I would personally recommend RX7. You can remove the plosives - Ssss, Ppp noises especially. You can also repair audio, remove background noise while keeping the integrity of your voice, as well as a lot of other editing tools. It’s not a big deal, but i just think it will take you to where u want to go. Thanks again for the video

I was using a 280mm AIO and ran into the recent 'MSI issue" that has plagued AIOs with the pump in the radiator. However, my AIO was branded Fractal Design, so I thought I was safe. Basically, there is a contaminant in the loop that eventually clogs the cooler. I found a like new Fuma 2 for sale locally for $25, which saved the day. Makes me wish I'd gone air cooling at the start.

Hi Hardware scientist. I watched a couple of your videos and I really like the content, as well as the tone and overall presentation.
Regarding the display of your graphs, I have one suggestion though : I believe it would be better to display the curves as smoothed lines rather than straight lines. You have only a few points, and instead of having angles and lines, a smoothed curve would certainly be more representative of the intermediate values. I think it would be easier to compare the different curves too.

Don't understand why you placed the Fuma 2 on the second place in the ease of installation due the fact that it might be fiddly to put the both fans aligned. But you do forget that you can mount the fans on the heatsink before you mount the cooler on the CPU. Two gaps are available between the middle fan and front tower which allows you to screw the cooler tight with the fans pre-installed.

While this thing doesn't actually fit onto an Asrock x570 Phantom ITX board without you having to (very likely, rather painstakingly) taking off every single heatsink on the board - at least the mounting of the heatsink itself is consistently trivial *unlike* Noctua coolers which can send you off onto an adventure in three-hand-installation.
The performance of the cooler can also be augmented by using stronger fans, so the fact that it's trivial to mount and unmount remains an extremely strong point - since you'll likely have to repaste your CPU, or even upgrade it if you're rocking an AM4 CPU.
You don't want to dread the day you have to mount a heatsink, as that's a good way to never get anything done with the system internals.

many Scythe coolers come with bent/damaged fins because Scythe's boxing is horribly flimsy. This is a big negative to the Scythe coolers. They need to invest more on protective packaging.

I don't know why warranty would even matter much on air coolers... It's easy and cheap to get new fans... If some shit breaks on your heatpipes then you're doing something very wrong.
The fuma 2s weakness is it's fans. Another review showed how it performs with a set of noctua fans and it beats the higher prices noctua coolers.
For the price tho they are like under 50bucks now I think at some places they are great. Installation was the most painful ive experienced with air-coolers.

I had some difficulty installing it with the fans on - had to take them off to get the cooler mounted properly.

Idk what's gone wrong and where, but your Freezer 34 eSports Duo results are way off. The 34 eSports Duo is WAY louder than the Ninja 5 and Fuma 2 at any given noise level. The eSports Duo is absolutely awful in comparison to both of them.

Your review goes against any other review of this Cooler.
Schyte Fuma 2 outperforms pretty much any cooler of it's category and better, at lower noise levels. In fact, it matches NH-D15 Chromax performance.
Don't know your methodology but you seem to be the only review of this cooler that says otherwise.

It doesn't match NH D15 performance... but its only sligthly worse. And yes its a bit off that NH U14S beats fuma 2, just because Fuma 2 has a better surface area.. Weird indeed.
