This was a good comparison, however the pricing is very different here. The phanteks is £50 which the dark rock and dh15 are over £80. This pricing here makes much more sense based on there performance.
You also didn't mention that the phanteks cooler comes in 5 colours, black, red, blue, orange and gold. Which means you can buy one to match the other parts. 👍

As an user of Noctua myself, i wanna say, that after almost 8 years, my NH-D14 is still working just like new. Virtualy silent, damn effective, and needs very little to no maintenance at all. It keeps my 6700k at 4.6 ghz at under 60 celsius when gaming, and i do game for very long periods. Noctua is right on that warranty man, they realy know their stuff! Also, great video man! This is simply the best video i've ever seen on cpu cooling! Very well explained, perfectly presented, just top notch! 10/10

Me too. My D14 cooling a 6700K OC@4,7GHz in small and quiet Fractal Nano S ITX case. No problems keeping the CPU@100% at max 67°C . I give the D14 some airflow from the front and exhaust all air out the back of the case. D14 does the rest. It also has no trouble dissipating the heat coming up from the GTX1070 underneath.

Boots and runs simple tests at 5.1 if I push 1.4V, but that's the limit for now. Good chip, though. Not delidded, using regular Kryonaut. Is really nice to see a scientific comparison between these models, and not a simple showdown, what matters is the temperature performance, I would love to see a video like this with AIO water cooler of one, two and three fans, it would be really nice, most guys just compare the FPS and the frequency which is insane, besides, if the computer can'T handle that workload, it's relevant how many FPS you obtain, you need to have good temperatures, that is the most important thing in desktops in my opinion, good temperature control, so you can last really long using your pc below 70 °C and lower even

Good review and from the number of comments I am happy to see that so many people still prefer the large air cooler with its quiet operation and peace of mind that it offers. I am a bit puzzled though about the experience you had with the bequiet. I went immediately after watching this to bequiet ‘s channel to watch the pro 4 installation and as I currently have the dark rock 4 I have to disagree. It was the easiest and most pleasant installation of an air cooler for me. I honestly don’t know if the socket has something to do with it as I have a ryzen cpu but I doubt it.
Btw I installed the dark rock 4 without removing the motherboard.

awww, i thought i saw a Scythe in the thumbnail and got excited. i got my Ninja 4 for $40+5 AM4 adapter, and both it and the Ninja 5 ~$60 have temps within a degree or two of the D15. and VERY close to the ease of the install of my U14S

Dude, you should put your system in the description including your case. I really like the Grand Macho, it just so cool for the size like bodybuilder lol

This is some interesting data, actually if you look closely at the NH-D15S you can see that at higher RPM you actually get diminishing returns. It’s hard to see but it looks like it actually increases in temp in the middle of the graph. It looks like if you could stop where the NH-D15S hit its lowest temp, you can get a quieter and better performance cooler than the Dark Rock Pro 4.

I'm looking for a nice air cooler at the moment to cool my 2700X. The Le Grand Macho looks most compelling to me. It's quite, pretty good performance, and doesn't block the RAM. Thanks for the video, helped a lot! Edit: Oh, and has Macho on the name. It doesn't get any manlier than that hahaha

I have TR Macho HR-02 since 2012 cooling my 3570k @ 4,2 Ghz in a Zalman Z11 Case, very good temps (36'C idle, 70'C full load)
