The Bible does not state life begins at first breath. There are multiple passages stating the value of human life before birth. If you are going to use the Bible in your argument, please actually read it. Or, as you already stated, do a 2-minute Google search. "You have been weighed in the balance, and found wanting," is from Daneil ch5 v27, it means you don't measure up. "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he doesn't exist." And the priest in this movie fell for it, hook, line and sinker. The priest knows Satan, demons, hell etc. all exist but he doesn't believe it. Nefarious quickly realizes this and knows the priest is nothing for him to fear. The priest is there to bring comfort to the condemned, to help them deal with the fact they are going to die. He is not there to save a soul or confront evil, he's there just to make dying easier. Many churches today preach the idea that heaven/hell, angels/demons, good/evil, and even God/Satan are just concepts that we create for ourselves. That love is really what it's all about, and they will love people straight to hell.

By the way; no way in Heaven or Hell was this scarier than The Exorcist- and if you don't think The Exorcist was scary, then... well... you're more nuts than I am :)

This is a film about the loss of hope, while another film by Frank Darabont is about maintaining hope when all seems lost. That film being The Shawshank Redemption. The main character in this film loses hope and once loses hope, gives in to the situation around him.

First reaction watch, and bf or hubby is so hunky and hot like a highschool football player w/his floppy sexy hair, I kept imagining him in the gym shower all dripping in water, Sweet Jesus! He's prob str8, but I found myself like if he perhaps broke down front of my house and needed help and knocked on my door, I'd want to chain him in the basement and keep him like in Misery, and he could become bi. Most disturbing movie I ever saw. I saw this around 1980 when I was 12 in a drive in as the last picture in a horror triple feature. My Uncle pulled out of the Drive In 30 minutes into the movie during the sexual assault scene and I was happy he did.

Stephen King normally likes to play a cameo in the movies that he creates from his books like Rose Red this movie I think he was in tommyknockers as well but I'm not sure I would have to watch that again

It's a really fun movie, but it's also a really clever pastiche. It's a sci-fi horror comedy, but it's also specifically a campus comedy and very much a 50s nostalgia film. By 1986 you've had The Thing and Invasion of the Body Snatchers remakes, and the Little Shop of Horrors and The Fly remakes came out that same year. You also had Streets of Fire, The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, Back to the Future, Stand By Me, and Peggy Sue Got Married doing 1950s/60s settings by 1986. In the next couple years you'd have Prom Night 2, Slumber Party Massacre 2, Angel Heart, and The Blob remake, as well. Plus you have prominent 50s elements all over the place, like in Christine, Blade Runner, Cobra, and the countless movie greasers. I think the earnest mid-century nostalgia you see in the 1970s (Badlands, American Graffiti, Lords of Flatbush, Animal House, Happy Days) carries over into the 80s but in a more self-conscious and ironic mode. Night of the Creeps is an homage to 50s sci-horror, but it's also kind of a commentary on where horror is in the mid-80s.

This movie is more disturbing than I remember. You're absolutely right. Burn. It. All.

I love the Resident Evil games. Not the movies beyond the first one though. This movie is the closest to the games, before the movies went full-blown director acting like a teenager, making a R.E. fan-fiction, staring his girlfriend. (Director & Milla got together during this movie, and are married). That's sweet, but he belittles established & beloved characters from the games, to make his wife look more & more epic, and showing off her body. Thinking of the sequels as a lovey-dovey couple's fanfic, makes them a lot more tolerable. And if you don't want to play the games, including the great remake of the RE2, the great RE4 and it's remake, and you really can't tolerate the tank-controls and security cam perspectives of the original games before RE4. Then you can just watch letsplays of them on CZcams, like Gab Smolders' playthroughs. But it is a great experience playing any of them yourself, with headphones. Except maybe the laughable Resident Evil Survivor (check out the AVGN video on that), or, the butchered RE3 remake (look for a video about Nemesis, from a channel called Pastra, titled How Survival Horror's Greatest Monster Was Ruined). Pasta's video has spoilers, so you may want to play, or watch a let's play of the original RE3 and 3 remake first. Oh, and yes, the movies have gotten more, and more ridiculous. But to be fair, at least for a time, so have the games, after the original RE4, becoming very action oriented, like Micheal Bay fell into the soup of games, at least for a time. But I know the original 3 are great, I think also Zero, Code Veronica, and Revelations, though I haven't played them yet. RE7 is absolutely great, and the original RE4. Chronicles & Darkside Chronicles are the arcade shooter Surviver wish it was. And that's what I know about the games. I'm looking forward to buying and emulating all of them for my future gaming PC. If you can't buy them to play on PC, then there is no point trying to get a console and original game disk, because consoles, and scalpers/resellers are just unfair. Especially if you're not collecting consoles, discs, and cartridges, and just want to play these great games. It's better to emulate on PC, if you can't buy one of these games on Steam, in my opinion.

I don't know why it's sofa-king hyper cute how she holds onto his arm. I also like her haircut, and guesses what the plot was. Country hicks hunting rich people. Whether it's that, or rich people having their way with a commoner. Both class based motivations sadden me, because anyone can be evil, and net worth doesn't determine that, like race & gender doesn't guarantee that either. But I am interested in seeing movies with both as a plot. I wonder if you two have reacted to Hollow Man, The Blob movies, the Tremor movies, The Thing movies, Deep Blue Sea, or the Resident Evil movies. I'll check after this. And you two are the sweetest roommates I've ever seen. I dont know if you're friends-with-benifits, or you're like those Mythbuster guys, not even friends, just working together for a show.
