- In this video, my roommate will be reacting to her very first watch of "A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child" from 1989. We're continuing the Nightmare series for this new Christmas season, and this one is better than most people think.
ABOUT:
The fifth installment of the popular franchise focuses on Alice (Lisa Wilcox), a survivor of the fourth, who believes Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) has been eliminated for good. She optimistically hopes to start a life with fellow survivor Dan (Danny Hassel). The nightmares begin soon enough, though, and Alice learns she is pregnant. When her friends start dying, Alice suspects that Freddy is using the fetus within her as a weapon. Can she fight the demon while protecting her unborn child?

I’m still chuckling over the thought of a goldfish pissing on his grave to resurrect Freddy. 😂
Yeah, this one lowered the body count, upped the jokes (although the SFX were pretty damn good), and made Freddy a comedian with a claw. Although it’s still %1,000 better than the next sequel.

Fetus in danger does sound more accurate yes. I went straight to child because of the form he took but yea you’re more correct

I won't lie, I still watch this from time to time. 1, 3, and New Nightmare reign supreme. The visuals in this are trippy, though.

My parents didn't initially let me watch horror. Older cousins and siblings had me watching at way too young an age. I don't even remember when I first watched Freddy or any horror. It's always been in my memory. I would also sneak and watch it on cable, and change the channel real quick if someone came in. My parents were usually pretty liberal about what I could watch, but I'd get nightmares, and they didn't want me to be scared.
They'd sommmmmetimes allow me to rent or later buy a horror movie, but if I got nightmares, they banned me again.
This is how my mom was too. I wasn’t even allowed to watch goosebumps or are you afraid of the dark.
Elm Street 5 is the greatest
I hope you react to the Chucky show when you finish the films. For me, it's the best thing since part 2... maybe part 3. It seems to be all the best elements from the franchise is show form.
As far as this film and franchise go, when i was a kid, I was probably moat scared of this one and part 4. I'm not even sure if I remember why.
Plot hole! They were all at the same school from Part 4. Alice didn't bring up ALL HER Friends that were killed last movie? Also all her friends in this acted like Part 4 never happened and SO MANY of their fellow classmates died "Mysteriously"? What the heck! lol
I wonder if you watched the UNCUT version of part 5? In Australia we got the UNCUT version rated PG-13 in Australia(M15+ FOR US) I don't know why they bothered The deaths were TAME. Dan's was kinda brutal with the cables running up his arm and crashing deep into his leg. Dan and Great's deaths were cut to pieces and they were more cheesy then disturbing.

Loved all but the remake.
Also, the show was meh. Even the ones with Freddy as part of the story were kinda meh.
