I read Preludes and Nocturnes, absolutely loved it, now started with the Absolute series, its a blast...great video as usual.

Your presentation in this one was fantastic. Love the voice, the background music. Your choices have given me some new things to read and oh my GOSH those Love books look absolutely lush! The fox reminds me of Marney the Fox, a British comic from the 1970s.

Tintin is one of my all-time favourites. Really love the cleanliness of this box, my Tintins are all random books bought second hand over the years!

Are the three hardcover bone books that collect three books each are they sewn bound? Im asking because ive been thinking of picking them up.

I've recently acquired and read through the same Obscure Cities books you show of here (except for Shadow Of A Man) and I'm kind of mixed on them, because I love the artwork, and the stories and mysteries are quite compelling, but there are a few things that I'm not too fond of, mainly the depiction of female characters in the stories, I probably don't need to explain why since you've also read them, but that aspect of the stories honestly made me kind of uncomfortable at parts, which is a shame, because I do think pretty much everything else about them was great. I was also kind of disappointed by the ending of The Invisible Frontier, perhaps I might need to reread it a few times before I fully form my opinion on it, but I kind of just felt like the story fizzled out without much fanfare. I am still interested in checking out the other books in the series though, there's just something captivating about them, in spite of how I feel about some elements of the stories.

I enjoyed this video very much was looking to buy a personal set of tintin becuase i used to read them when i was a child and got them from the public libary I got the Red set its was on the cheaper side which fit the budget. Amazing review

Hello there. I have a quick question as to what you mean by strong vacuum cleaner. I seen in comments you mentioned 2000 watts, but isn't that commercial vacuum cleaners that are around 500 dollars? Or do ya mean a regular strong vacuum? Would appreciate the help, want to get right vacuum cleaner, and perhaps not spend too much if possible.

I had only one option for this. These feeling thingies are restricted to Finns by very tight annual quota from government. Overuse of emotions also leads to subtraction from the next years quota. This, of course, makes sense to anyone reading this. Having said that after last years health issues I realized it's all BS. And I just happened to read Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. Scrooges journey from ambitious and happy youngster to cheap(and even bitter) person would have been enough for tear jerker. But it was the unexpectedly well crafted love story weaving it's way through it all that finally broke my cool. I learned to read with duck stories and those adventures are part of who I am. But I was never ready for the depth of emotions Don Rosa was able to bring to characters that I always considered "ready" and unchanging.

Clumsy by Jeffrey Brown. The story of a long distance relationship disolving in front of my (and the protagonists) eyes. The futility of struggling to keep it together and the drawing style that deceived me to feel like the story was a diary that unravelled while I was reading were an unbearable slow motion punch in the face

Imo, Captain Haddock is one of the best characters ever made.

I've experienced this and have always imagined that if anyone ever lived to 200 or more years, the works of literature that exist right now would probably feel pretty childish to one such hypothetical person

My answer lacks any of the poetry or analyse of your brilliant video, but is as honest an answer as I can think of. The end of Y the Last Man with Yorick and Ampersand saying goodbye had me in buckets, before I'd even read the rest of the series and then reading it again later at the end reading it all hit me even harder. If I hadn't used it already (I think) I'd have gone for the final Calvin and Hobbes strip as that one I cry at a perfect ending told beautifully. It fills me with all the joy of the time we shared together, its a real bitter sweet moment.

In New Zealand as a kid Asterix and Tintin books we all read in the school library, and they always in stock at every major book store in the country, usually next to Calvin and Hobbes.

This showcase was fantastic, I've had my eye on In for more than a year and you just now confirmed that I need to get on this sooner rather than later. The book that got me when i was a kid and still sticks with me is the Daredevil story, Sometimes even Heroes fail - from Marvel Fanfare #7.... what is it about dogs in literature?

This comic was not on my radar but after that beautiful summary about what I'm particular elicited an emotional reaction from you and how this transcends the "sad story about an animal" genre to use the animal as a focal point about the human decisions that went into it, LAIKA certainly is now. A comic that made me cry is the ending of Cosey’s two album series A trip to Italy! One of the most heart breaking conclusion in comics history, for me! Published in english in black and white by Dark Horse in their anthology Cheval Noir.

Thank you so much again for this video and for widening my view on comics. This book passed through my hands a few times and every time it didn't make ik to the cash register. My pick is Three Shadows by Cyril Pedrosa. Just like you, I did not shed a tear just because a young boy died. But what did break me up in tears was the fact that the boy made peace with his destiny and the way he comforted his heartbroken father.

I have two pets whom I adopted almost a decade ago; I can relate about this story, God's biggest mistake ~ creation of the human race

Never reading it again: Cato Zulù by Hugo Pratt - A comic that made my face hurt: Rat-Man by Leo Ortolani - A comic that made me cry: Wrinkles by Paco Roca I was deeply touched by this work. I think Paco Roca was really able to greatly explore the drama of people who suffer from Alzheimer's and their progressive psychological collapse. Everyrhing is told with humor and the story is so melancholic and heartbreaking.

This comic made me weep buckets but one of the loveliest things about is that it never feels manipulative in the way that a lot of content featuring dogs does. Perfect music choice for this video btw!

Angshuman I bought this comic on your recommendation and till date it remains one of the best comics that I have read. On the surface it seems that the trope of depicting atrocities on a mute animal is cliche and would elicit an easy emotional response. But the layering of this comic with the dilemma that surrounds the humans involved is what made this a tear jerker for me. Not to forget the multiple variant endings. Truly an incredible read and I must thank you for recommending the same.
