This is so timely. I grew up in a Christian home, in a wonderful family that loved and served Jesus together. Despite all of that, I did not know and trust the Lord. I went through all the motions, tried to live a morally good life, and believed I was saved. However, the fruit of the Holy Spirit was not evident in my life at all. From the outside looking in, you might think I was a true believer, but eventually even that facade faded. I did not trust and believe in Jesus as my Lord and Savior until about 4 days ago. It was evident in my past life that there was no real joy, peace, love or trust. Now, I can say with full confidence that He is my Lord and my Savior. I confessed my sins to Him and I am filled with his peace. I am thankful for His gospel and I can share that Good News with others.

I've started reading the book 'The Gospel According to Jesus" and one very helpful part to accepting Jesus as Lord is the fact that there's no such thing as a fully autonomous individual who is his own master. We are already slaves to something or someone I the inevitable sense, so it us better to be a slave to Christ than a slave to short term hedonistic desire that inevitably leads to despair.

What about 1 Corinthians 12:11. I've see where God worked through someone as He saw fit in the gift He wanted to express at that time. I've seen it. I have had God speak to me. He told me to give 500.00 to a pastor who lived on faith. I assure you it wasn't my idea!!! I was 19 years old. I obeyed. The pastor told me his wife just talked to him and they didn't have the money to cover their next bills. I heard God's voice. Period. The fruit was there. I don't care if someone makes fun of me or calls me a liar. I know what I know ans to make matters more real, it was in a Baptist church and I didn't even know what the gifts were.

So basically… be a good Christian and you’ll be a good man

For the past 7 years I've been on a journey I honestly believe that Christ wanted me to show all the people I cheated and stole from that he can really change lives. I can't tell you how much I stole from people or borrowed and never paid back and these sins came to my remembrance and I've been paying back and giving testimony of how Jesus saved me . When we don’t come gratefully in prayer I also believe we come with a lack of expectation. The point that we can come greedily, is also valid. But to me gratefulness and thankfulness means that I trust in Him and that I’m at rest.

John said "what God offers you"? Show me one bible verse that God offered Jesus to me or anyone else. I have searched the Bible for years and have never found a verse that states Jesus was offered to God and God alone, not to any man. I dare anyone here to prove me wrong.
