Dial In with Jonny Ardavanis: Big Questions, Biblical Answers, is a series that seeks to provide biblical answers to some of the most prominent and fundamental questions regarding God, the Gospel, and the Bible
In this episode, Jonny Ardavanis sits down with Pastor and Professor Joel Beeke to discuss the necessity and nature of prayer. Dr. Beeke not only discusses the crucial component of prayer within the believers life, but details how believers practically should pray.
Furthermore, Dr. Beeke responds to the the routine rebuttals: 1. Why should I pray if God already knows all my needs? 2. Why should I pray if God is sovereign?
Dr. Beeke mentions his work on prayer which can be purchased here:

THANK YOU HEAVENLY FATHER, for allowing a wretch like me to speak with you! Glory to The Lord Jesus Christ!
Dr. Beeke's writing has blessed me so richly. So cool to see him on your podcast!
Every interview is great and very concise indeed! What a group of godly pastors found to sit for a few minutes, that is from God! Thank you and as I listen more to this ministry I find gold in it.
Thank you Dr. Beeke and Jonny for this video. Prayer is something I definitely struggle with, my daily prayers feel so weak… because they are. I’m excited to follow Dr Beeke’s advice on prayer. May God bless y’all for helping so many who struggle because of our sinful flesh.
Wow, this was actually timely for me to hear and learn about. I am at a phase in my life where I honestly feel like I have been taking prayer for granted for the most part. Pastor Beeke mentioning something like prayer as “a breathing of the soul” was a good imagery to instill in me how I may actually run out of the spiritual oxygen I direly need to live before the face of God daily.
Thank you for this, sir. This was a much needed reminder for me-and I am quite certain for most people nowadays-to pray as much as we can.
Lord, may You give us grace to seek You daily in Your Word and in prayer.
In Jesusʼ Name.
God bless all of us!
What a very fruitful and incredibly helpful conversation! Thank you so very much for sharing.
This was definitely helpful 😊
God bless this ministry. I'm looking forward to landing a job so that I can give to ministries like this. God bless 🙌
💕
That was great
What is he explaining in minute 8.36... a formula of 4 letters... (sorry english is not my first language)
A.C.T.S: adoration, confession, Thanksgiving, supplication.
Lord, teach us to pray!
Just make sure You don't say anything about praying in tongues, OK!? We trust what the Bible says, unlike those other Christians!
1Co 14:4,13-15: ⁴ He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. … ¹³ Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret. ¹⁴ For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. ¹⁵ What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.
