Given the extra power of the Ford Lotus Cortina I'd argue that you were impressive just holding it, never mind looking for an overtake. That said you did lap that first A40, M*n* and Spridget? at about the same time.

Brought back the memory of being a passenger in the Imp at Curborough Sprint venue last year for some 60 seconds..Blooming eye opener in what a combination of an Imp & driver can achieve..Learnt a lot in way of technique that day.

AH so YOU were the Imp behind the winning Anglia! Superb drive sir! Unfortunate flywheel explosion - lucky though! I knew a guy who lost 3 toes to a shattered flywheel in a Cortina on a rally once!

Started off in Minis back in '82 but bought a Sunbeam Stilleto in '84 for £30 and ran it around all summer while my Mini was off the road. I loved it, and really wish i'd have kept it. Happy days!

Hello James, l ve met your Dad and his Dav once or twice before you'd started plugging mud in an Imp as a teen. Good to see you're taking his efforts even further success-wise. Shame about the rod break. I'm still using heavy sunbeam rods in my 1040, can't afford flash steel ones! I see you and Simon use a neat (VW?) oil heat exchanger. What's it off? I fancy fitting one myself. Are they a simple screw on to the spin on filter block? Keep up showcasing the Hillman. 👍

Crazy amounts of negative camber, few circuit racing Imps use such extreme angles. 1 to 1.5 degrees would be more normal.
