Hello James, l ve met your Dad and his Dav once or twice before you'd started plugging mud in an Imp as a teen. Good to see you're taking his efforts even further success-wise. Shame about the rod break. I'm still using heavy sunbeam rods in my 1040, can't afford flash steel ones! I see you and Simon use a neat (VW?) oil heat exchanger. What's it off? I fancy fitting one myself. Are they a simple screw on to the spin on filter block? Keep up showcasing the Hillman. 👍
Keep your chin up James! Glad you got away unscathed. Poor imp heart is poorly. Needs the Dr. now. You must have shares in Shrigley now. Steel rods will be unstoppable surely. Thanks for sharing your offroad skills.
That was major! Are there any discussion about the conrods and crankshaft in the imp racing group?

I owe Shrigley a lot I wouldn’t be racing without him!
At least it didn't go through your bonnet!
Very true!
Sorry to hear but the car looks and performs amazing
Thanks!
Like for telling what actually happened; the rod though the block bit is 😪 though.
Commiserations from Down Under... Is the head stuffed as well? With that much metal flying around, I guess it would be a miracle if it survived. 😢
We wanted to save the head but number piston punched it so hard the combustion chamber moved 1/8th inch
@@Jamesibbotson875 : Ouch... not surprising though.
