Two issues and I want to know if it can be fixed. 1, if placed in a fire it would be conducting a lot of heat. Is there a metal or way to deduce this for safety. 2. If placed in a camp fire would the heat deform it at all or is it to light heat of a fire

4 years ago, still a banger! About questioning the H in Hema, after danling in those communities for sometime and get really tired of certain attitudes, I have to say... sadly still relevant. And it should always be a questionable H, contrary to how some people there really like to act like they've trully revived those traditions in a rather close form, rather than essentially doing experimental archeology guided by surviving historical documents - not the same thing, this can't be emphasized enough. The European fencing traditions just did not really survive as something continuously practiced and taught, and there was no conscious effort to really document and conserve the knowledge of them for historical preservation reasons. Yes, there are surviving descriptions and manuals from those periods, but those are far from complete, with guaranteed missing "common knowledge, no need to write down" parts of unknown dimensions. As far as I am aware, there is literally no way to tell if any of the interprations today is historically accurate to the time. We can say that it is historically plausible according to those surviving snipets, but being able to claim it is "plausible it is close to how it was as it is at least not outright contradicted by surviving texts" is not exactly rigrous evidence much less proof. Unless some heretofore unknown strong evidence comes to light, that H should be really be HI - historically INSPIRED european martial arts. Calling it "historical" will always be, at the bestest scenarios, a bit naive if not outright disingenous.
