I believe that if you carry a lot of tools your bike will breakdown :) so i dont carry them, also i carry old school puncture kit from stanley touchwood never have to use it ever.
@@Sheil400 Interesting... I do carry basic tools... Bunch of spanners, chain lube and cleaner and a couple of puncture repair kits 😎
Bro why did u not choose vredestein ??
It's slightly expensive and also they don't have a 110/70 section for the front. That's my stock size. They do however have a 120 section for the front. Didn't want to upsize the front tyres. Want to keep the front as light as possible.
What is the R3's rear rim width? It would be embossed somewhere on it.

I was checking out the new steel brace tires and rhe lightness of these tires was surprising considering my current 140/70 MRF Revs-S (R15M/V4 stock) tire is way heavier.
Actually I have been trying to find out the exact weight of these tyres but no luck. Not mentioned on the box or anywhere else. When I picked up the tyres, it didn't feel too heavy. Rear might be around 5 kgs or less I suppose.
i just installed pro torque extreme on my 2022 RC 390. They feel better than m5 sportec.

Oh really? Maybe they made a different one for Speed 400s. And this for retail sale. How are the tyres? Grippy?
@@HighwayToHill Man I typed my reply 2 times and both the times they were not uploaded due to internet issues lol Whew, I will type it again. The Speed 400 is my first motorcycle so I don't have a reference point to compare the tyres to. But yes, I have been riding with them, doing highway trips and these just make me feel like I am in control all the time of the handling and braking. I am just now experimenting with slight decrease/increase in tyre pressures to see what works best for me. I was riding a Suzuki Burgman before but this is completely different in terms of wheel size and tyre compound. I was surprised that I felt comfortable leaning more than I would on the motorcycle at a long curvy stretch on the highway at 100-110. Maybe that's not just the tyres but the tyres were a factor too I felt. In wet roads, I ride in a sedated manner but still whenever I had to brake suddenly, I could do so without any issue. Unrelated to the tyre, I have been trying to improve my skills starting from the basics such as gripping the tank with my knees, holding the motorcycle with the heel pressed to the heel plate and my toes on the footpegs, my upper body completely free and relaxed to maneuver the motorcycle, been practicing emergency braking, my major crash taught me to be more aware and cautious while touring on road. I am also not stepping out on the motorcycle now without riding boots and leather gloves (with a helmet of course) Will go to track riding school in future, but any recommendations/tips to improve my skills and experience as you've been riding for a long time now? Thank you!
@@gurucharanchundi 2 times!! 🥹😢😳 Gosh! But I really appreciate that you took the effort to type again. Thanks man! I have actually never usee MRF tyres ever in my life. Thanks sooo much for sharing your experience. Will be helpful for so many others who watch this video. I started from scooters too and then moved to bikes 100 cc 150cc 300cc... Since you mentioned about riding gear, please do get knee+shin guards if you don't have already. It's been a savior for me many many times. Hey... Thanks for your comment. 😎🙏
Man! I relate to the incident happened to you. I took delivery of my Speed 400 in August of 2023. It was my first motorcycle coming from a Suzuki Burgman. Two months in and I was learning, having fun, rode about 2.4k kms and boom! I was on my way to Hyderabad from Vijayawada in the highway. 30 kms more and I would have been home. There was a turnaround approaching as I was cruising. I slowed down and switched to the leftmost lane anticipating that vehicles from the opposite direction would make a u-turn on the highway. A couple on a passion pro or a splendor (I didn't make out the motorcycle) were making a u-turn. I saw them, they made their u-turn and it looked like they were done making the turn. They were in the middle lane. I was on the left lane going around 70. They were at a much slower speed as they just made a u-turn. And suddenly, without indicating, the motorcycle swerves complete left crashing into me. I was thrown off the bike, both the people on the other motorcycle were thrown of their bike, my tank bag and rear bag went in different directions. I got up, fearing I may have injured myself seriously and thinking I'm not able to feel anything due to the adrenaline. People on the road helped pick my motorcycle up, help get the two people up. I checked on my motorcycle, there was smoke coming from the exhaust pipe, my gear lever bent, instrument cluster misaligned, and that's all I noticed at that time. This was around 8:30 in the morning. The couple got up, they had scratches, the uncle tells me he was coming to a stop on the left because there was a bus stop apparently. And I didn't have the awareness to be extra careful and watchout for any such happenings. I was glad that they were not seriously injured as there were trucks and cars coming from the rear and the uncle wasn't even wearing a helmet. I waited by the tea stall I crashed in front of for 4 hours for the RSA to arrive as my motorcycle wouldn't start. Of course it would not have happened had he checked his rear view mirror or used the indicator. Or if I had slowed down even more prior, had the skill to be aware and careful to avoid this altogether. But I learned something that day. I was geared up top to bottom in Viaterra Spencer gear and Viaterra boots, grid gloves, an MT helmet so I came out scratch free. Well. I had a scratch on my lower back because I didn't zip up the rear 180* zipper on the Viaterra Spencer jacket and pant. I realised months later that the zipper was stitched improperly and couldn't be zipped due to manufacturing defect. Viaterra repaired it for me free of cost but had I realised that when I got the jacket I wouldn't have had that scratch. My Speed 400 was in the showroom at Hyd for 2 and half months while I was miserable being away from it :) The bill came out to 60k and insurance covered 46k. I did have zero dep but that was the amount the insurance company covered. So yeah it was an experience. I learned I should be more careful, develop my skills, and stay safe on the road. I did brake at the time but we were just too close for the brakes to have done their job I guess. I have been practicing emergency braking and it feels great to know the potential of the brakes, the grip that the tyres offer, been rev-matching and braking at the same time and I just sometimes remember the crash and think about the 2 and half months of riding I missed. I have a lot to learn on the Speed 400 and just felt like sharing my crash experience.
Hey.... Awesome to see you on my channel and share your experience. I hope people read it and learn. Sometimes you can do everything right and still be on the receiving end. But yea, always something to learn and improve ourselves. I hate that feeling of not being able to ride. I get soo depressed. Totally understand. Once again, thanks for sharing! 😎👍 Ride on! Be safe.
Break pads cost the set of two?
Front brake pads 3250₹ Rear brake pads 850₹ 😎👍
@@HighwayToHill why bro that much of price difference
@@ajithabhimanyam.8217 Front brakes do most of braking so the components are of better quality. As far as I know rear brake pads on R3 are rated FF. I think front are HH quality which is superior. Pads material is also different. It can take more wear and tear. So mostly front brakes in bikes will be more expensive than rear.

Heya, i need your quick answer as i am going to order tvs protorq extreme. Back tyre life how much km?
15000 to 17000 kms Depends on your bike power, torque, riding style etc.
I've done same thing on my R15 v3. But after removing that wide part the fender part become so flexible that it was dancing on even the slightest bump. I figured out that instead of removing it fully I've to cut the extended wide part and keep the middle part for reinforcement.

Hey! Is motul's 20w50 better than yamaha's recommended 10w40? Do you still use it. Would you recommend 20w50 for my R3 or suggest other
Hey... 20w50 won't thin out as quickly as 10w40 when temperature goes up. Because I was in Chennai and was riding during summers also, I was using 20w50. It lasted 5000 kms and had consistent smoothness. Not tested or anything, just speaking out of how my bike felt to ride. But nowadays I'm finding it difficult to get 20w50 so I get 10w50 or the recommended 10w40. I think depends on what kind of conditions you ride in.
