I am waiting for the mt as well... Currently i ride the aerox... Have become a fan of Yamaha ever since... Considering i have never ridden a geared motorcycle do you think the switch from the aerox to the mt03 will be a very big leap? I drive manual cars... So i know the working of clutch amd gears... How steep will the learning curve be? Or should i opt for a smaller motorcycle?

Hey thanks for your message. It can definitely be a big leap in terms of power from 15 bhp to 42 bhp. But I made a similar leap... I went from Honda Unicorn to Benelli TNT 300 and then R3. When I got the Benelli TNT 300, I already had 10 yrs of riding experience.
The only concern is that you haven't ridden a geared bike. Never learn riding on a new bike. Get a 2nd hand 125-150cc bike. Learn on this and only then get a new bike. It's easy to learn on smaller capacity bikes. Since you already drive manual cars, it won't be a big issue. I learnt geared bikes first and when I went to learn a manual car, it was easy for me compared to someone who has never used a clutch.
      Cheers! 😎👍

@@HighwayToHill Thanks for the detailed explanation... The problem is to find a friend's bike to practice... I always fear that it will get damaged... Hence I learnt my driving and scootering skills on my own new vehicles... I didn't even know how to ride a cycle prior to riding a scooter! Thankfully I haven't met with any accidents yet... Have been doing long highway drives and rides easily since 2021... Just wondering if bigger bikes like the R3 or the MT03 will be much more difficult...

@@debdeepdutta2148 If possible, pick up an old bike for around 15-20K and learn on it everyday.
Bigger bikes are actually effortless on the highway. They're made for open roads and that's where you will experience their maximum performance. I have done 700-800 kms in a single day on the R3. Just add a windscreen on the MT03 and it will be even more comfortable with it's upright seating. Cruising 100-125 is a breeze.
      😎👍

@@HighwayToHill Yes... Thanks for all the info.... Just one more question... How has been the Yamaha support for the R3? In case you need to order spare parts, how much is the waiting time considering it has been discontinued for the past 3 years?

@@debdeepdutta2148 When the bike was on sale... I could get parts in a week. After Covid, supply chain and logistics issues escalated and it would take 2 months or more. Consumables are available. Other parts was taking time. But with bike on sale again soon, I'm expecting the situation to improve. Service is hit and miss. Some centers are good, others aren't.

So R3 charges that premium of 30 to 40k extra like in BS4.
Btw, MT03 is likely to be 20k cheaper than R3.

@@varun1036 Not sure but I don't think it will change a lot. In fact without the fairings, it might actually return 1-2 kmpl more. City I get 23-24 and highway I have seen 28 kmpl avg.
