    Very informative, thanks for the review. Just one question. How's the flexibility after break in with Grid, mainly the finger part. Does it feel bulky or can we move fingers freely without any stiffness?

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey... Thanks a lot. I understand your question and honestly I felt the same when I saw the pictures of GRID before buying. The reason is that the finger part looks bulky. This was my concern too. But the leather is very soft there and you won't have issues with movement or comfort.

    You can use Armour all leather care to restore your leather gear bro. Its really good, i use it on my shoes and gloves after every 3 to 4 thousand kilometers.

    I didnt get viaterra so got the rynox
    Does the glove get spoilt if youuse it in rain?

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  Před 2 lety +1

      Ya same.... I got Rynox because I didn't get Viaterra Grid. Well, water and leather don't go well. It will become super stiff once it dries and sometimes cracks might also appear. May shrink also and might have weird smell. Take some cotton with some oil and rub it. I have a helmet spray so sometimes I spray a little bit inside the gloves.

    Hello brother. I am planning to buy used R3 next month. Will it be a wise decision to buy R3 now ? I heard about the spare part issues so i am really confused. Regular parts is easily available aftermarket but i am concerned about the major parts like clutch plate pressure plates chain set and all. So please help me out. Can we get all parts aftermarket or is it better to drop the plan of R3 ?

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  Před rokem +1

      Just yesterday one of my Insta connections got a used R3. Getting the usual service consumables won't be an issue for example air filter (easily available with Yamaha) , oil filter (Denso is easily available with Yamaha) , engine oil, brake pads (Ebc, Vesrah) , tyres (Apollo, TVS) , chain/sprockets (Rolon, DID etc) and even battery (Exide, Amaron - not 100% match spec but can be used without any issue). All these are not an issue. You can get aftermarket. Major parts will be an issue or even body parts can take a few months to arrive. If you are ok with this, get one. I hope this helps.

      @@HighwayToHill Thankx a lot for helping out. Much appreciated. And you just tell me what about clutch n pressure plates ? Is it easily available with Yamaha or aftermarket available ? Because i didn't found any source for it. And generally at how much kms R3 asks for a clutch set change ?

      @HighwayToHill  Před rokem

      @@purnendu7806 I'm at 58K kms and still haven't changed. I'm not aware of aftermarket options. Yamaha may take 1-2 months to get this.

    That's not carbon fibre. It is just a pattern on TPU. The viper is mostly for rain, not for bugs. You could wipe off bug guts. Personally, I think Rynox leather feels better. Goat leather vs full grain leather. The design of Grid is definitely better. Percentage of leather doesn't mean much as these are full leather gloves. The percentage variation is mostly due to the liners used and the way different makers calculate things.

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  Před rokem

      Cheers! Thanks for your comment. Rynox leather feels much better. I agree. My GRID gloves are torn at a couple of places by now. One near the thumb at stitching area and other where the gauntlet extention starts. Both are at stitching areas. Looks like single stitching which has failed.

    • @VarunBhargavan
      @VarunBhargavan Před rokem +1

      @@HighwayToHill I was looking for short-cuff gloves, and Viaterra launched the short-cuff version of Grid on cue. Would prefer a version of Holeshot with external stitches on the fingers (or, better, short-cuff Kruger). Rynox also has somewhat better skills in making leather gloves. The fit feels more refined - like you won't feel the stitch seams inside as much. But I'm not fond of the TPR sliders they put in most new models. The Gravel gloves have a fantastic fit and finish. They would be the best summer gloves for on-road if they used a bit tougher material and hard-plastic or super-fibre sliders.

      @@VarunBhargavan Yea... I'm sure my next set of gloves will be Rynox. When I compared and purchased Rynox Storm Evo v Viaterra Grid (v2), for me Grid came out on top. However, Rynox has improved the Storm Evo in its v3 avatar. Totally agree that Rynox has a better feel on the skin.

      @@HighwayToHill I came across your video while searching for comparison videos between the Storm Evo v3 and Viaterra Grid. Are you saying Rynox v3 is superior to Viaterra Grid v2? I am split between the two as the prices are almost the same. Thanks in advance.

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  Před 11 měsíci +2

      @@shubhamchaturvedi3025 Yea, I would suggest Rynox Storm Evo 3 over Viaterra. Rynox fits very well and is a lot more comfortable. I have been using Viaterra for a year now and I thought after the break-in period it would get comfy. It still hasn't. And if I don't ride for a week, it gets too stiff. Hope this helps.
