    I too run this tyre on my r3. Im close to 15k kms actually. Yeat its almost flat now at the centre but enough rubber is left for another 3k atleast. The highlight is there is no drop in grip even at this point. Obviously tyre life depends on riding style. As you said its best tyre i every used for r3.

    Which one is the best out of the MRF vs Apollo Aplha H1. Also, does it make sense to go for Michelin Road 5 for my BMW G310r which costs 20k a pair? I was thinking I can install Alpha H1 twice in that amount and have newer tyres along the riding stages of 25k usage ahead... Is the Alpha H1 good enough or should I wait and go for the Road 5? I love your content, very informative! ❤

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  Před měsícem +2

      Hey thanks. Nice to see you on my channel.
      Michelin Road 5s are great tyres but even I didn't buy it because of the price. If you have the money, it's the best tyre right now you can buy.
      H1s are a great balance between grip, price and tyre life. All rounder. They are good enough. I have already used 2 sets on R3.
      Hope this helps you in deciding.

      @@HighwayToHill are Apollo Alpha H1 better than Michelin Pilot Street tyres which come standard on my bike? Will it be an upgrade? Also, I do have the budget for Road 5 but don't want to go overkill if it's not required. (If road 5 is for 600 cc+ and installing it on a 310 could be overkill). Hence, I ended up coming to the alpha h1 as it comes standard on the Triumph Speed 400, where its handling is praised by the reviewers. I would love your take on this as you have extensively tested and ridden the H1s! ❤️😀

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  Před měsícem

      @@ketanupasani709 I would suggest, go ahead with the H1s. Road 5s can be an overkill. That's why I never bought it. H1s are better than the Pilot Street 1s. I think what you have now are Pilot Street 2s. H1s will edge them over. Definitely an upgrade.

    • @HighwayToHill

      I would say TVS is better in terms of feel and feedback. Grip levels are pretty much the same. TVS is softer though so slightly more grippy.

    • @sarge12k
      @sarge12k Před rokem +3

      This is a good question actually. My main activity on my bike is hill riding, and though the TVS has performed very well, the edges of the tyres have worn out after only 4000km. I am not sure I can afford 13k every 3-4 months for these tyres. I've heard Apollos last twice as long, and I want to test them out for my next set of tyres. If they are not as fun as the Eurogrip, it will be a tough choice between the two. Do I want a long-lasting tyre which allows me to ride a lot and practice my skills (Apollo)? Or a short life tyre which I have to conserve by riding my bike less, but those less times are very fun (TVS)? I think H2H has already given his verdict on this, and I will give mine once I've tested the Alphas. But if you're in a hurry, my friends are running Alphas on their NS and RS and it is performing very well for those bikes.

      @HighwayToHill  Před 6 měsíci

      Yeah... It is soft. There is a 140 size available which should be perfect fit for MT15. Life might not be too long but handling and grip is good. I think it's great for city use too.

    Thanks for another useful contribution to the Indian biking space. Your video was one of the reasons I bought these tyres.
    My use case is the opposite of most people, where I linger on hills mostly, and after around 4000km, the sides of my tyres are worn out until the indicator is flush with the surface, although the center of the tyre still has plenty life left.
    I have an R15 V3 and my pace is on the faster side, so other users should see much better results than this. Although I doubt they can even try, as the availability is pathetic and finding latest stocks of these tyres is next to impossible. Got scammed with late 2019 stock from Torque Block myself.

      Yea, these tyres suit your riding.
      TVS needs to improve this situation. I have spoken to dealers and they don't wanna touch TVS tyres. Lot of headaches. I couldn't find the tyres in Chennai, home base for TVS... So that says a lot.
      I'm shocked that Torqueblock sent you old tyres... 😢

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I'm yet to use the MRF Steel Brace. It's probably my next set. For touring I would recommend Apollo Aplha H1. You can get close to 15000 kms of tyre life. It can easily handle high speed runs. TVS Protorq Extremes have like 10000 - 12000 kms life. Not the best option for a tourer. I hope this helps.

      For rr310 i suggest protorque my rr310 is a precision tool and not load heavy on rear tyres so even the tvs will last longer... the issue is 70% of weight is on front tyre so even with lesser power and torque the front tyres are the ones thats gone for me i ride fast and i mean triple most of the time ... the rear still has 40% life the front is gone literally surviving on abs and control now as new tyres are shit now a days all stock are 2 year old i am waiting for the dealers to get new stock...using alpha h1 and cornering is unstable when the rear has too much pull the ktm 250 onwards bikes can never use a apollo either get the eurogrip for performance or get apollo trampler xr only if you commute and tour calmly ..I am buying huaqvarna 401 so I will swap the protorque and apollo trampler xr among my rr310 and 401 @@chinmoysahu2499
