It's 99% the same exact experience. I think this year they added more in the "Top Prospects" menu--now you can search top prospects by team or position. Other than that though, franchise has been pretty much the same for the past decade or so. It's a shame they don't put more effort into franchise mode--there is so much potential and so many cool features they could add but just refuse. They need to stop pouring so many resources into Diamond Dynasty. Sorry for the rant lol. Ultimately, I would just stick with 23 unless you could find 24 dirt cheap as it doesn't pose much of an upgrade. Thanks for watching and I hope you stick around for this series! -JV

I'm glad you checked it out! I would previously handwrite everything up until a couple of years ago. I can't take credit for the template though. Makes a lot of sense. After advancing I regretted not redshirting one of those JR RBs--would've said he got injured in the Spring and took a medical redshirt. Maybe I'll try that next year, although at that point I may just let them ride out their last year of eligibility. I'm excited too! Of course, the expectations rise each season but at this point, we really have the team in place that we've been building since Year 1. All the support has been greatly appreciated! -JV

Exactly! Sometimes the RB can really struggle to get going. I called it against Tennessee (video will be up tonight) and we had a decent result. I think I'm going to leave it in my back pocket for late in games as I think that specific run design will cater well against the defense when they're a little more fatigued and worn down. I still have to try and pull off a step back! Trying to work it into the repertoire but my mind is always on spin move lol. There was a big missed opportunity--this game or maybe the next where I was running up the sideline and went spin when a step back would've been perfect. We'll get there eventually lol. -JV

@@JVidsGaming I never use the FB as much as I think I will😀, but some formations I like are the usual: I Form, Strong, & Weak. But I also like Pistol Full House, SG Wing Offset, and the SG Split Back. I've also been known to sub in my FB (RS from play call screen) for RB in a lot of my 11 personnel formations and sub for a TE in 12 personnel formations. You're going to attract a lot of FB attention by playing your guy in the slot! The yards he averages per game will apply to Play Style for FBs, so you'll probably have an "A" grade for FB play style. Fun stuff!

Haha same here! Hyped up his utilization all offseason just to stick him in the slot most of the time (where he's been killing it). I really want to start getting him some snaps in the backfield though, and I like the creativity out of Pistol Full House, along with the SG sets. I'm definitely gonna alter the playbook slightly and try to show off his versatility a bit better. Appreciate all the feedback! -JV

Great call! I've honestly never even thought about utilizing that. It's funny how I can just get caught in my ways (primarily spins/jukes), and not think about the step back. Deep with a lot of youth. It's going to get really tough to evenly distribute workloads with Mario McBride eligible next season--he's the highest-rated player out of all of them. -JV

I rlly wanted to go for a defensive approach tho so i also picked up patrick, zadorov, bunting, fehervary and kakko. I went to the conference finals in my first season but got swept. Love that you chose the Thrashers! I was thinking of going with them for the next game--last season I did the Nordiques. I don't blame you at all for going after Girard. Really good pickups all around, especially like going after the young guys in Patrick and Kakko. Zadorov brings a great defensive anchor to the backend and Bunting/Fehervary will bring good, consistent contributions. Who did you have as your goaltender? Insane that you made it all the way to the Conference Finals in Year 1! Hats off to you. Nice addition with Hagel in the offseason, did you bring in anyone else? Appreciate that my man! @@JVidsGaming I got pretty lucky in net since i used my number 3 draft pick on a computer generated goalie with high franchise potential. Hes an 85 now. My backup is lukas dostal but so far hes only ever played in preseason lmao. I traded away casey mittelstadt in the offseason for a third and sharangovich to boost my fourth line. Im on Episode 7 of the series now and man u made me regret not going after kaner😅

I've never taken a goaltender in the 1st round but I will go for those franchise potential guys in the 2nd round sometimes and it usually takes at least a few years before they're pro ready.
