- Helllooo everybody and come along for the ride as I birth the Marquette Golden Eagles program on NCAA 14.
In this episode, our Golden Eagles attempt to end this Year 5 season on a high note as we’re back in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. Last year Marquette defeated a highly talented UCLA team in a dramatic triple-overtime thriller. They’ll have their hands full in this one going against the nation’s top passing attack led by Mike Leach’s air raid scheme. Tyler Bruggman led the nation in passing en route to a Davey O’Brien Award and has been the perfect conductor in the offense.
Marquette’s defense can stand up to the challenge early on although they’ll allow a couple of big hits in the later stages as each offense gets going in the second half following a slow, low-scoring first half of play. The Golden Eagles seek their first 10-win season in program history but it'll take a full team effort throughout all four quarters to bring it home.
In the next episode, we’ll embark on our Year 5 Offseason as Marquette seeks to continue to climb up the national rankings and solidify themselves as a legitimate title threat. We'll start the episode by putting a bow on the Year 5 season by reviewing player stats, All-Americans, Award Winners, and bowl results headlined by #1 Army against #2 South Carolina in this year's National Championship.
After officially wrapping the Year 5 season, we'll start the Year 5 Offseason which begins with Lance Leipold being offered the head coaching job at one of the hallmark programs in the nation.
