"March Madness"- Lake Ontario Browns & Lakers!
In this video, Capt. Bill Saiff III is fishing with Capt. Pat Loveland for early Spring Browns and Lakers! A mild winter has left the Eastern Basin of Lake Ontario "Ice Free" as of March 1st. This is an unusual occurrence so the boys are taking full advantage of the opportunity! This video has lots of fishing tips and it takes a close look at the NEW line-up of Bill Saiff Outdoors tackle. Northeast Troller is building Flashers & Spoons to BSO specs and the results have been outstanding! Check it out! Visit us at www.BillSaiffOutdoors.com and PLEASE SUBSCRIBE to this channel.

Do you run a dodger in front of them or is that spin n glows just hooked to a swivel? Thanks.
Man, I love lake trout. They’ll chew when nothing else will.
Great show !
Great video...learning alot
Where can u purchase your files from do u have a link? Do u ship 2 the USA? Thxs
maxima ultra green is good stuff. perfect color
I know this is old video but I have a question on the "wingers". Do you need to increase the size of the downrigger ball to use these? what size ball would be adequate to fish just spoons as deep as 100 feet down? and is it safe to fish wire divers still with these out but fishing higher with the dipsys? thanks hopefully u get this. super deadly info on here thanks again
Love your videos.
Thank you
Excellent!! Thank you
Nice work! When do you use a cowbell rig? Different times of season or??
What lb test do you use for the rollers? Also do you keep the same swivel on for kings later on
Nearly as big as trout in NZ
It was a very nice fish but nowhere near a giant
Awesome
Perfect
Awesome Fish!!
What does a number 4 or nunber 7 water gremlin split shot weigh? You always referance them by nunber but i cant even find those nunbers anywhere and ive always kept track of my weights by their actual weight. Also are they tin or lead? Im not sure but i would assume a #7 tin weighs less than a #7 lead. Appreciate any info you can give me.
Great fish! Congrats!
Shame didnt state the weight!. Nice fish though.
He guessed 20 lbs while it was coming in. Then said it was closer to 22 lbs.
Love the content Bill! I will be heading out this weekend, Hilton, Hamlin area for lakers. Being that there is not a ton of structure out there. Where would you suggest starting for getting lines wet in terms of feet of water. I plan on using Magnum dipseys with flashers and spin glows. Does this sound like it could be productive to you this time of year for lakers? Thanks!!
I would start looking in 30-40 feet of water. Last week we had the Lakers in 45-51ft. and we were catching them 35-38 ft down.
Thanks Bill! Am I able to buy some flashers and flies you recommend directly from you? I noticed in your videos you said something about being able to purchase some of your recommended tackle.@@BillSaiffOutdoors
AWESOME
Great Brown Bill
Awesome
Do you prefer medium or medium heavy for spring browns? Or both are equally as good as the other
You want medium or medium/light.
@@BillSaiffOutdoors ok, i have some medium baitcasting rods, would those work as well until kings ans id just switch back to my mh rods then
@@jaredballen8205 that would work.
@@BillSaiffOutdoors great, thank you. Good fishing to us all
He so sweet when he is instructing everyone
I saw on another video you are using visious fluro so i just recently ordered a spool of 10 lb. What main line are you running? How much and what pound fluro you running? I appreciate all your informational videos they have definitely helped me on my one trip a year.
I primarily use the VICIOUS Fluoro in 15lb. Test for our spring fishing!
From what I understand is that it is an alternative version of a meat rig. Like a meat rig and a mag spoon had a baby.
Sort of......however, the SUPER BAIT rolls just like a meat rig.
That’s a breeder so you should release him
Great video Bill! Which specific model Okuma Dead Eye rod do you run on your boat? Also, in previous videos you've mentioned the 8'6" Blue Diamond rod for riggers. Is that the medium or medium/heavy? Thanks!
Thank you for sharing and teaching us along the way. Are you using bags to slow the troll speed of that 150? My boat goes 3 mph using my 150.
Yes we were using bags.
Thank you! I got one brown so far this year using your techniques in the Niagara area of Ontario. Weather permitting I’ll get out soon. Got it on a sodus point buckeye stinger rigged just you show us on planer boards
Perfect! I am glad things are working!
Huge
March 2nd was our first trip of the season out of I bay never have fished the South shore this early. Much welcomed bonus to catch these ealry season Browns. All I troll with is the 150 merc with troll control 8 seasons no issues👍 keep up the good work BSO team! (UV caddy shack is our favorite spoon!)
Nice catch guys.I have a question for you,how do you like trolling with that 115 Yamaha.Thats the motor I have,is it safe to troll with just that,I really don’t want to buy another kicker.
That motor is a 150 Yamaha. No issues trolling with the 4 stroke!
@@BillSaiffOutdoors excellent,I did mean 150,lol
It was a great time ! Pick up a few tricks of the trade
Awesome
Awesome
man those look good nice job thanks for sharing info
when mr big gets to that over 20 size each one u land u remember.
Love the colors on these fish
They are nice at that time of year!
Interesting, in the spring when I fish brownies with Uncle Ken in lake Michigan they are mostly chrome, not colored. Yeah stringers and silver streaks do the damage with monkey 🐒 puke and blue dolphin usually being the top guns 💯
omg nice job girl holy smokes nice job everyone and I mean that
Congratulations
A Eastern basin giant!
Most folks in Rochester don't realize this is in our backyard 😂😂😂. Great fish!!!
Nice catch guys
wow unbelievable
Good eater size
It’s almost time
