- The "Transition Period" occurs in May and June. Its the time frame when Brown Trout move from their shoreline haunts onto bait schools located in deeper/cooler waters. Targeting these fish requires the use of Down Riggers, Dipsey Divers and Weighted Planer Boards. In this video, Capt. Bill Saiff III takes a comprehensive look at utilizing all 3 techniques! Looking to hear what line and pound test you use. What lb leads? Mono ,braids.
We us 15 lb. Trilene Big Game as a carrying line. Out fluoro tippet is 7ft. long and it is also 15 lb. test. Currently, we are using Viscious 100% Japanese Fluorocarbon.

Hi Bill. I've been a fan of yours since the 90's when cabin country was on PBS here in Massachusetts. Have you ever thought of putting those old episodes on CZcams? Zachary Trost does this with his father's show Michigan outdoors. It would be great to see those episodes again. Cabin Country was a quality hunting program that wasn't trying to sell a thousand products. Thanks Bill.
I will look into that........ I did have an opportunity to film with Dad in September! We got some great KIngs and he did a nice job. I will be editing that video after the 1st of the year. Be watching for that one!
