Finally fully caught up on all your lectures. I want to thank you, your work was a blessing to me. I look forward for the rest of your work.
Wow! I am very honored you watched all these. Thank you!
Hello, Dr. Vlach. Thank you for this lecture. I just wanted to clarify that Spurgeon did not encounter classical dispensationalism. Darby's dispensationalism is starkly different from Scofield's. There are of course elements that are similar, but I would venture to say Darby would agree more with you than with Scofield (I'm Brethren, so I am familiar with these topics). Anyway, I've read some of Spurgeon's criticism and, as is usual when arguing with non-dispensationalists, there were a lot of misunderstandings because of terminology. God bless.
I have a question since you brough up Daniel 12. As Premils and I made the switch with full confidence yesterday, we believe in the resurrection of the Just and Unjust at separate times. Nonetheless, Daniel 12:2 seems to mention both groups being resurrected at the same time. I mean what is going on there is the statement "at that time" being used as a very broad timeframe? Daniel 12:1-2 12 “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people-everyone whose name is found written in the book-will be delivered. 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.
One thing people miss is that Jesus is truly God and truly man. He is a Jewish man, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, and the seed of David. He retained his humanity in glorified form because he has to be the seed of David who will return to reign on the Throne of David. The aspects of Israel still being in covenant with God today are even confirmed in the Jewish humanity of our Messiah.
Great Presentation.
Would you have the Age to come and the New Heaven and the New earth at the beginning of the Millennium or at the end of the Millennium? The question reminds me of the passage where Jesus said that the children of this age marry and are given in marriage but that it won't be so in the age to come. Now I wonder if that is a reference to the Millennial reign after his 2nd coming or not. Other times I wonder if it's after the millennium and the white throne judgement. 2 Peter 3 makes it seem that it is at his 2nd coming but Revelation 21-22 make it seem like its after the white throne judgement.
The coming millennium is the first phase of the age to come and the eternal state is the second phase. This present age has multiple dispensations, so too will the age or "ages" to come.

This one was the best lecture so far. Even as an Amil I could not deny the passages concerning the salvation of National Israel. I went back and forth with my fellow Amil brothers but they tend to hyper spiritualize passages. Lots of weaknesses in the Amil and Postmil view. This passage will go into my collection of passages concerning the salvation of national Israel. I have 36 video lectures left. I have some questions but I will leave them till after the last lecture incase you answer them in the upcoming videos.
Thank you!
... and we shouldn't interpret Gen 22,17-18 with out 22,8
I added all your videos from oldest to newest to my watch later playlist. I needed to know that u really understood the other positions before I continued which you do. I been finding weaknesses in my Amil view and have been leaning toward historical premil. I use to be pretrib premil, post trib premil(a few months), prewrath premil, then I ended up postmil, optimistic amil and now amil. I been very inconsistent regarding my eschatology but I have to admit eschatology is one of the hardest subjects.
Thank you for your honesty as you work through eschatology. I hope the videos are helpful.
It’s odd how easy this is if you just take the Bible how it reads. Words have meaning. Well done sir.
Why is post called post which to me suggests that the millennium come and gone - done and dusted.
Clearly, the Bible talks about a literal and physical presence of Christ on the earth ruling for one thousand years and clearly historically this has yet to happen. Like it or not, we are in the pre-millennial age.
Thank you for this! Really enjoyed it! I was wondering if there is any difference between the three positions in relation to the eternal state (after the Millennium)? It seems that Premillennialists don't talk much restoration and "returning to the Garden of Eden" like the other two views do. Is there a reason for that?
Thank you. I cover this topic in my New Creation Model book. Recent premillennialists talk about a tangible eternal state in detail. Blaising is one example. Postmills say very very little about the eternal state. Amills are a mixture on this issue. Hoekema held to a restoration situation.
Dispensationalists are not the only ones who believe God will restore or "make new" earth and its creatures. We don't have to be dispensationalists to have a New Creation framework
Let us reclaim Historic Premillenialism from the followers of George Ladd
That would be a good development.
David Pawson was a great Bible teacher who had a "New Creation" framework
Psalm 2 seems to be hyperbolic about David and symbolic about Jesus
I am premillenialist but, on the nature of Jesusc reign during this age, I mostly agree with amillenialism and some points of postmillenialism
I’m with Dr Vlach as a staunchly dispensational Zionist premillennialist. I pick that a far more critical point for me is I’m not convinced God’s promises made to Israel in OT are transformed/enlarged/spiritualised into the Gentile-dominant (or believers from all over the world) Church. They will be fulfilled on a believing Israel (physical descendants of Abraham through Issac and Jacob) - as Israel. Since the promises hadn’t bern fulfilled understood Israel -> the fulfillment is still in the future. I hold this point as more “non-negotiable” than merely the millennial kingdom itself. Which means I do have very sharp differences with believers from my local Reformed Covenantal amillennial church.
Very helpful! Thank you
Since our amillennial friends believe the church is the new or true Israel, can we go through our NT and replace the word "church" with "new Israel" or "true Israel"???🤔 I tried it and it seemed kinda lumpy.
This is an excellent explanation of the vivid contrast in the views. Dispensationalism interprets history in a consistent literal, historical, and grammatical framework. It takes Scripture at face value and avoids the subjective spiritualizing of the text, as the opposing views do. By spiritualizing or allegorizing prophecy, it is conceivable to make the Bible say anything you want it to say. This is dangerous and counterintuitive, in my understanding. I appreciate Dr. Vlach's even-handed treatment of the subject.
Excellent summary. Thanks so much!
Thank you Dr. Vlach!!
I've often wondered why the view you lean toward, isn't endorsed by more scholars. It is the most likely view, in my mind, considering these early letters to the Thessolonians do not mention spiritual departure at all, but they do mention (several times) the persecution going on, at the hands of the Jews, which contributes to the Jewishness of the context. Additionally, Isaiah 28 helps make the case for the apostasy to be the Jews signing of the covenant, when God, Himself, declares, "Your covenant with death will be dissolved, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand." Certainly Paul could have had this very verse in mind when he penned the definite article "the" along with the word apostasy. This may be a minority view, but seeing how it is the Jews who set the Tribulation in motion with the signing of a covenant, "the apostasy" would be exactly how Paul would have described it. I completely agree with you on this.
Thank you for your kind words and insights. I'm going to look at the Isaiah 28 text you mentioned.
I like when people cite these mantras "grace alone" "faith alone".... If it is grace alone then it cant also be faith alone based solely on the word alone.
@xXOIRIDIUMOXx: I believe that you're understanding "alone" improperly. When we say "alone," we're talking about, categorically, the process or structure of salvation. Hopefully it will help you to see salvation this way: By God's grace alone(source), through faith alone(means), in Christ alone(object).
@@HEREISTAND1521 It makes more sense they way you lay it out. Still a poor choice of words. We should add obedience alone also but that would be works. Works can not save and yet they are a requirement. Cant talk about that though because we have locked ourselves into a dogma.
@@xX0IRIDIUM0Xx : I forgot to add, "wrought by the gospel alone." LOL Good day!
Moses came and struck the heals before Jesus did..... yet the mind of man see's only what he see's, a father who delivers serpents and kills them.... moses was the sepernt, to untangled the serpent mind. To strike the heal, is to break your foundation of belief, to get your head out of the sand, and walk with God, not against him. ❤ If you have not got GOD by your side, you have no legs to stand on, but a cane to hold you up, limping your way through the tree of life, unable to do anything by yourself.
21:20
Excellent presentation and a highly under-discussed topic. The trans-generational “you,” used by Jesus, makes perfect sense, if "only the Father knows" when. It also corroborates Paul’s use of the subject pronoun “we,” in his description of the rapture, which immediately precedes his "comes as a thief,” regarding the “times and epochs” (i.e. the DOL). Instead of two comings of the Lord, Blaising describes the Coming of the Lord as a unified series of events, preceded by, but included as part of this multi-stage coming, is the rapture. Paul and Jesus both seem to teach it is the entire 70th Week that bears the unknown time element. But, it all could've been pending in Paul's day and mind (not just the rapture). A trans-generational “you,” is substantiated by Paul's trans-generational “we,” and other subject pronouns used by Paul, such as “they” and “them.” This explaination is the most natural rendering of the text. How else could a topic be explained if the timing is unknown, except with the use of these subject pronouns? This topic would be a great future Pre Trib Study Group conference presentation.
Thank you!

Some of our elders would say that the restoration has been fulfilled after the Jews were brought back from the Babylonian captivity. How would you respond to that?
There has been no complete and permanent restoration yet. Plus, there are promises of restoration after the return from Babylon. No way the return from Babylon at that time fulfilled all the great promises linked with Israel's restoration to Abrahamic Covenant blessings.
Thanks for your work. Question about the transfiguration passage: Doesn’t Matthew 7:12 kind of suggest that Elijah already did come (John the Baptist) and the Jews did not know him? It seems to suggest the opportunity was there but the prophecy didn’t play out because of the unbelief at the time. Your point about Matthew 17:11 and Malachi makes sense on its own, but leaving out Matthew 17:12, the very next verse, would clear a lot of that up imo. What am I missing?
Hi Dr. Vlach. Thank you for making these videos! I have been enjoying them and learning a lot from it. I am wondering if you're able to cover a topic on Joshua 21:43-45 and Nehemiah 9:22-24 regarding the land that God promised to give to His people. Based on those texts, covenant theologians argue that God already fulfilled His promise in giving the physical land to Israel, so there's no more land promise to be given to the Jews in the future. So, I am wondering how you and other dispensationists defend that claim that there's still a land promise to be fulfilled in the future.
Outstanding again. Bravo
Terrific video Sir. I find the method of simply presenting the texts and allowing them to speak quite persuasive.
Thank you!
I would love to hear what the view of dps's is on JN Darby. How his life is perceived, the church groups he led and the outcomes there. I suggest it is a very important exercise to undertake. Secondly, the same applies to the worldview of those subscribing to the Rapture idea. How will their Christian lives manifest? Why is it that the USA has over more than 150 years, supported the ideas of dispensationalism and birthed at least three major christian linked aberations characterised by heavy gnostic overtones? (Mormons, SDAs and JWs, to which you could add the "faith movement " with their overenacted eschatology ). Thank goodness for ( albeit what appears to be a minority)some excellent scholars
