  • Explains how Matthew 24:30-31 refers to the gathering of Israel after being scattered as a result of the Abomination of Desolation of 24:15. This view is shown from: (1) the context of Matthew 24; (2) the storyline of the Bible involving Israel being gathered after a time of scattering; and (3) intertextual connections from Old Testament prophetic sections such as Zechariah 12; Daniel 7; Isaiah 27; and Nehemiah 1.

Amen. And throughout the passage, Jesus makes many allusions to Joel that most miss. Many miss the use of hyperbole and "day," "time," "hour," etc. in reference to a particular time-frame that appears to include everything from initial regathering to distress & judgment to Messianic restoration (and completed regathering). It is noteworthy that the chapter in not particularly linear and that this is what confuses many. For instance, Jesus mentions "the end" and language concerning his coming some thirteen times in this chapter alone. Clearly, he does not return thirteen times, but he is answering his disciple's three-fold question in different ways, from multiple perspectives, yet in the order that they asked. Also, Luke is NOT a parallel chapter. Luke happens IN the temple, then Matthew steps out of the temple and clarifies from questions from four of his disciples named in Mark 13 from outside the temple upon the mountain itself. I really appreciate your work!

I have a question since you brough up Daniel 12. As Premils and I made the switch with full confidence yesterday, we believe in the resurrection of the Just and Unjust at separate times. Nonetheless, Daniel 12:2 seems to mention both groups being resurrected at the same time. I mean what is going on there is the statement "at that time" being used as a very broad timeframe?
    Daniel 12:1-2
12 “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people-everyone whose name is found written in the book-will be delivered. 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.

In the light of this interpretation how are we then to understand the re-gathering of Israel from among the nations foretold in Ezekiel 36 vs 24, which wasn’t referenced in the video? Is this the same gathering that is spoken here in Matthew 24, or is this a previous re-gathering? Many appear to understand the Ezekiel passage as fulfilled prophecy in the light of Jews returning to Israel since 1948? Is this a correct understanding, or is it a premature understanding?

@@james8996 Calling a pastor false because they have a different interpretation of Matthew 24 is absurd. The Olivet discourse is arguably the hardest section of the Bible. Historically, there are about 8 interpretations of Matthew 24. That should give you an idea of how hard it is.

Whenever the resurrection of the dead in Christ is described, there is no mention of the angels gathering His people. However, we do see angels involved in gathering the Jews and Gentiles who survive the apocalypse.

Thank you. I have been working my way through your videos since I found your channel, and you may address this in another one, but I am confused about the spiritual condition of the Jews between the abomination of desolation when they flee from Jerusalem (Rev. 12:14, 17) and Zechariah 12:10, Jeremiah 31. They obviously do not take the mark of the beast, but are they "saved" having already accepted Jesus as Messiah and don't cry out for His return until the end of the Tribulation period, or is there another category? Not saved but protected?

It's a great question - I've been wrestling with a similar type of question as understood say Ezekiel 20:37 and the passing under the rod judgement was the Jewish equivalent separation judgement like the sheep and goats gentile judgement/seperation at the end of the tribulation when Christ returns. Would this separation happen after the 'elect' have been gathered? Does the 'elect' comprise both believing and unbelieving Israel from all over the world? Any help in clarifying my understanding would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance

The Revelation 12 crowd are not Jews!!! The woman fleeing into the wilderness is the church. The man child caught up into heaven is the Lord.

    • @davidwoods6015

The futurist's ideas do not include the church or the gentiles. . That's because they have bought into the notion that Israel is the sole object of consideration after Revelation chap.4. Because in that chapter 4 in their mind is a so called rapture of the church into heaven for 7 years ( gentiles) so Israel as God's chosen people go thru a great tribulation refined with fire. . Now of course I personally don't believe one ounce of this futurist nonsense . But that's my explanation of your question, "where are the gentiles,," in end eschatology!!!!
