I find it ironic how critics of dispensationalism accuse it of fostering a defeatist mentality because it posits a "flight from reality", when in actuality it's the proponents of the spiritual vision model who are rejecting a renewed physical world.
What of Jesus ruling and reigning on the earth for a thousand years ( there are still unsaved persons in this period ) and then the final judgement? At this point the old cursed creation is destroyed and all the "new heavens and new earth" are brought into existence. This is not a "purge and refinement": But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. ( 2 Peter 3 )
Amen! Great stuff Dr. Vlach!
