The jet engine whine from that dozer has got me thinking about an alternate timeline where turbine engines took over from diesels in the late 50s. We'd have JetA1 Creek reviving old turbine-powered Cat T8 dozers. 🤣

That corrugated steel would make a nice accent wall in you shop office when you build that.

Years ago, when I lived in the Gettysburg area, I worked for a GC that had demoed a barn that had amazing Stone walls on each end, the GC reclaimed all that stone and we used it as stone work on a large custom home that we built that is near the Gettysburg battlefield area. It was truly amazing to watch the masons work that stone, cleaning it up and re-using it on the house we built. The house address is 560 Black Horse Tavern Rd for anyone interested.

I worked for Cat for years in Florida. I never understood why you never see crawler dozers here. They are common up the Eastern Seaboard. There must be a reason.

I enjoyed this video, my dad had a similar mill and a woodworking shop. He built himself a solar kiln to dry with.

Amazing work!!

Matt, a 24" chain wrench and a cheater pipe will end your cylinder disassembly problems. Unless the cylinder is bound HARD, all your inertia is dissipated in the slack. A chain wrench around the gland nut works. Sometimes the " slots" are boogered up. In this case you grind the distortion flat. This assures as you bear down on the wrench it doesn't jump off the gland. Once you have a good secure " bite" you can install the cheater..great care here .

Matt, I have removed pins like the one you are dealing with. We would buy case hardened threaded rod. Also, when the rod is used as a puller, put never seen on it. Also, use fine thread..

We used to get TWO videos a WEEK when you was just fixing things up in the woods etc and now you've finally got a top class shop to work out of we're lucky if we get even ONE video every two weeks! And even then it's only you picking up some rotten wood and moving it 200 metres down your farm! We thought once you'd get your workshop done we get more content of you working on big old heavy machinery? Seems like you've forgot us and your roots now you've got your workshop?

Ask the local Agriculture Extension Agent at a nearby college for the best tree species for your area. They will have some growers with bulk seedlings for growing your own tree stocks.
