Great idea, but should have executed correctly. An AMD CPU with Nvidia GPU combo will be nice.

One reason you might be finding that you need SSD drives is that you are using Unraid, which, as the name indicates is not really raid, and isn't designed for the kind of performance you need for streaming media. Get rid of Unraid and use a proper (and free) storage area network solution like TrueNAS with ZFS on Raid5 or 6 and you won't need SSD drives.

I have an original CR-10 and am a tinkerer. I’ve spent umpteen hours updating, upgrading, modifying and discussing 3D printing problems and their solutions, and printing benchy’s and calibriation cubes (and cats). I managed to print a few models, but ultimately I re-boxed it for a year. In fact I brought it out (to start the upgrade process again and got it printing great) but CZcams’s algorhythm started selling me on the Bambu Lab A1… … now instead of tinkering, I am printing, and learning how to make print adjustments and continue designing and tweaking actual 3D prints. My filament collection suddenly exploded. The CR-10S is jealous. “It just works.” is very true although mine threw some axis errors that were quickly fixed by re-lubing them (copious instructions available). The customer service, WIKI and help video collection is invaluable. Alternate parts and beds ARE available on Amazon, but to be honest, other than filaments, I will mostly purchase from Bambu Lab because they are just that good. I would say that the Bambu Lab A1 is not only a GREAT entry-level 3D Printer, it’s one just about everyone would be happy with because it’s reliablility, print speeds, vibration and filament management software is an experience no one should miss. The biggest down sides ARE 1) the copious poop waste in the extrusio calibration, nozzle purging and AMS multi-colour system, 2) the slooow monitoring camera, 3) basically dim bed led, and 4) the reliance on an Internet Cloud Network for remote printing (you could still walk a MicroSD card back and forth). It could stand to have a couple more options for model file handling and live print control. If not for those things (the first of which is inherent in using only one print head for 4 colours and manageable to some extent at cost of quality of filament purges) I would say that it is a near perfect 3D Printer for home and even production (given print quality and speed) use.

For the poop, the next version of Bambu Studio uses the retraction technique to reduce waste filament by up to 50%. It is currently in beta Also the more copies your print of a model the less waste there is. I haven't done multi colour for this reason as most of my parts are functional right now but better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it.

Its jst a lack of knowledge, the first rule when you print multi color is fill the bed simply and that way the waste is more acceptable than single multi print. Thats the way buddy ...

I bought a A1 and have been printing small parts for in the house to solve problems. Really like the speed so i can iterate on the solutions. Haven't printed multi color yet but enjoy the machine.

I got my A1 2 days ago and this bumper was nowhere to be found. The cable is the new one, but no bumper. And also the surprise box was missing. It seems they don’t send those anymore.

the only thing that Bambu has that makes it similar to Apple is the cult like following thats where is ends, if they become any more like Apple then thats where i exit and never look back, 3d printing doesnt need a Apple like company........

I kept my A1 and opted for the bed swap which I did taking the obligatory photos for proof, The swap was pretty straight forward and I sent off the photos to Bambu, However, it is almost a month since doing this and I still have not received the promised voucher. I have tried contacting Bambu about this but have heard nothing. Whilst I applaud their dealing with the potential bed issue I am a little disapppointed that the promised vouchers appear not to be forthcoming in a timely manner.

Screen brightness is the main issue for me with Chuwi devices: the brightness sucks. If you've even heard of a star that your planet orbits you won't be happy with the brightness.

Got it, don’t buy because you all poor fools. Why is it a CZcams job tells us that it is too expensive so don’t buy? We know that but many people want to know if it is worth the investment for their needs. For me, it is worth it and this guy just broke his laptop and wants a refund. That’s it.

I hope the client will then buy a holder for the video card, it hangs heavily, this is very bad for the video chip.

What if a drive dies but you dont have a spare? An you rebuild and have that data spread out over the array?

Not sure if you ever made it, but a tutorial series for unraid would be freaking amazing. Thank you for showing how to do the disc checks. I have like 12 randomly sized hard drives from working on family and friends laptops and upgrading them to ssds. I can't be sure of their quality 😂

I feel like if youre going to compare them to an Nvidia GPU running optix you should use ROCM HIP on the 7700s. It does in fact work with ROCM they just suck at letting anyone know what GPUs work. The Nvidia GPU would still win as blender devs dont really care a lot about ROCMs code path like they do CUDA and other nvidia tech but itd be nice to see
