Correction: The acceleration is 20,000mm/s2. I missed a zero when reading the specs off my prompter, but I got the math right ;)
Thanks, I always enjoy your reviews, even when I'm not in the market for the device you're covering.
Great review. Thanks
It's good also for more advanced users
Fantastic review! 😊 Great video.
I love 3D printing content, even if I don't have a 3D printer or the need to print anything right now. Still a very interesting field though, so I like to keep up to date on what's going on.
On that note, have you looked at building your own printer using one of the opensource options, like an Octoprint?
did you have to loosen nuts on the bottom of build plate and adjust in manually ?
No, I didn’t, but if the build plate does eventually drift out of tolerance it can be manually leveled.
@ElevatedSystems. Thank you so much
Power tip - get a smart plug for your printer to control it with your voice(!).
You got some factual errors in the video: the definition of CoreXY, the advertised acceleration. In addition, I would like to add that Qidi has not adhered to the open source license and properly credits Prusa Slicer. Nevertheless, I glad you like the machine.
On their Github page for QidiSlicer they credit PrusaSlicer right there on the Readme file. It looks like it's an error in the "About" file in the program itself. It looks like someone just did a blanket find and replace of Prusa for Qidi across a bunch of files 2 months ago in the source code, but didn't properly check all that was affected, such as items like the license attribution. They do still properly attribute Prusa though everywhere else. I should file an issue for them to fix that.
Edit: I just opened an issue request for them to fix it, including pointers at the changeset that introduced the error.
Thank you for the update @@stew675
An update to this. Qidi replied to my issue request. They acknowledged that it was an unintentional mistake as a result of changes 2 months ago that were too far reaching, and will correct it in the next release version of their slicer.
It's streets ahead!
can this printer be used without internet and without WiFi
Yes, you can just save the sliced file to the flash drive and print from that.
This or the new k1c? And why?
If you are buying now and are printing advanced materials (ABS. ASA, PC) then this, for the active chamber heater, and because right now it's $100 cheaper than the K1C.
@ElevatedSystems I have 10% off on the k1c, so it's around the same price. And I would mostly print pla and tpu. Sometimes petg, but thats it. I probably won't use abs or asa much or even at all. So know that you know that what do you think?
@@Antoan108 neither are great for TPU as you generally want to print that slowly. TBH the best value enclosed core xy printer is probably the Qidi XSmart 3 for basic materials. I’ve found Qidi to have the best dimensional accuracy of most printers.
@@ElevatedSystems can't I just print it slowly even if it's on a fast printer?
@@Antoan108 Yes you can. My overall point is if you're not printing advanced materials you don't need to spend $500+ If you want a firm answer on the K1C vs Q1 Pro, either is a good option, however, I haven't personally evaluated the K1C so I can't give you a fair answer.
