For years, people have been asking me to build roller coasters in their houses. But, never found the time or the right project. That is, until Lyle's grandmother asked me to build a coaster at her house!

How long do the coves need to be?
When using the hole saw do I have to drill at the middle of the hole saw.

I think this used to have an inversion
Actually I put an inversion in the track after this was filmed. But, sadly, it didn't work out very well. My first attempt at a heart line roll wasn't quite as awesome as I had hoped. Super fun to build and super pretty to look at.. But a SFMM Green Lantern level beating to ride!

I usually ended up between 18 and 24 inches. The more stress on the track (hills, turns, etc.), the closer the ties should be.

@@WillPemble depending on the g force levels in the turn into the top of the top hat
Thats actually not a rollercoaster its a stair lift which is used to help the elderly get safely up and down stairs. There are many manufacturers for stair lifts as well

You are, of course, absolutely right! The stairlift in this video is the AmeriGlide Rave 2. A fantastic product. The customer service and technical support we got from them was outstanding. Best of all, this has been a game changer for Lyle’s grandmother. Mobility is a hugely important issue for older people. ❤️❤️❤️

How much did this cost to make?
A super rough guess. The materials cost less than $1,000, the labor was a bit pricey because we were working on a very tight schedule. I reused the wheel assemblies from a previous coaster, so we only really had to buy PVC, lumber, and a thousand screws :)

Where is the bottom wheel?
In this video, the bottom wheels (called up-stop wheels) hadn't been installed yet. I was just testing the new wheel assembly design. The final cart and wheels definitely had up-stop wheels.

That's Hollywood for ya! Ben is a super talented creator. From my perspective the real star of that show was this carpenter named Malcom. He helped me with the build every step of the way, brought mad skills, great ideas, and insanely hard work all day, every day. SHOUTOUT TO MALCOM!
