  • Working to mimic @Tesla #Model3Performance acceleration from zero to twenty-one mph for our Backyard Launch Roller Coaster :)
Turns out we'll have to achieve 21 MPH in less than one second. Can we do it? We'll see! Stay tuned!

Can't wait to see this! You're doing what I've dreamt of doing ever since I was a kid playing Roller Coaster Tycoon. Keep it up!

Will have you not thought about a friction wheel launch, they are so simply yet really effective

      Hi Richy,
Yes. We talked about that and it's a good idea. For this coaster, we're trying to do something that's never been done in a backyard. That's why the electromagnetic launch and eddy current braking is so exciting. Still might need some friction wheels at the end of the ride, though. :)

Will Pemble i cant wait to see it will, you know your big coaster that you built, instead of a chain lift on the hill i would of put friction wheels ... it seems a lot easier than having a chain lift

Are you concerned about the power draw at all? I'm curious to know if there will be a problem with that and what the solution would be. Don't want to grey out the neighborhood. 🤷‍♂️

He needs to just plug it into the Tesla 😂

@@WillPemble Are you going to make your own LIM/LSM fins or are you going to have a company like InDriveTec make them?

I want to build a medium small scale coaster in my parents garden. As a first timer I’d like to use wooden supports with a rail on top. What tips could you give me.

I made a video about that a while back. Maybe check this one out: czcams.com/video/gJOu0Dez-OM/video.html
Also, read the comments as the #PartyPeople usually come up with ideas and suggestions that make things even better :)

Yes, that's a thing that only works properly in real life and is really hard to notice on the internet.

      Okay, PartyPeople. Let's play nice.
To be fair. the slomo thing wasn't as dramatic as I had hoped. But, it did allow me to count the frames and come to a pretty accurate number for the acceleration curve we want to achieve.
      SO - I give myself a B+ for science, and a C- for cinematography.
You guys all get an A+ for great comments and suggestions.
More on this topic will be in this Saturday's video :)
