So here’s how to use smart summoning for Tesla cars (in EU)
    1) Open your app and activate smart summon
    2) Walk towards your car until you are in range
    3) Your car has now successfully smart summoned you.

I have heard many places that this is a pure EU-regulation issue. They've basically rendered summon useless by a regulation that requires remote controlling to be within 6 meters of the vehicle (which is why you feel you have to walk next to it like it's on a leash). Which is kind of absurd for a feature such as summon, because why would you summon your car if you're right next to it?
Only really useful in the EU for that 'someone parked 5cm away from my cardoor'-situation.
To be clear, this is purely an EU-regulation issue, so NOT Teslas fault.

Looks like I made the right decision not to get FSD on my Model 3 performance. My standard (free) autopilot does everything yours does - all the autopilot on back roads/city streets. the only things you get for the FSD money is: auto lane change (kinda ok), auto park (never as quick or good as a human) and smart summon (well, this vid shows you how useful it is in the real world). even when FSD is fully ready and deployed, it will only be in the US - UK roads will need another 4-6 years before FSD is allowed in the - our roads are just not designed with FSD in mind. I'm glad I saved myself ~£6k.
