Our Super Steep Hill Needs Super Strong Wheels!

- This backyard roller coaster has to go from level to straight up in fifteen or twenty feet! That means our wheels need extreme pitch capability. Check out how we're attacking the problem of wheel assemblies that can pitch up or down as much as 60˚ while maintaining incredible strength!

8:11 who’s that good boy in the back 👀
That's Gus The Cat and he is, indeed, a good boy!
:)
He’s no good boy

HE IS A GREAT BOY
Cool! I am looking forward to see the coaster when it is done.
Me too, Daniel!
This one is gonna be our best coaster yet!
Stay tuned!
@@WillPemble I hope is not painful as the barrel roll you added which it was to fast and felt lime the 0g roll on maverick roller coaster
@@adaptablerubenvideos3097 What drugs are you on?
Daniel Kubacki. Me neither
AdaptableRuben videos what do you even mean by “magnum roller coaster”?
Thanks for the ride
Any time, Luke!
Thanks for watching :)
Excellent job Will, in a big fan of you're ingenuity.
That's satisfying to see!
So Excited for the Launch!
Hi Will,
excellent video, it is super fun to watch. Your camera style and the way of taking us along your way is awesome.
Keep it up, can't wait to see more of the magnet stuff.
Thank you. Jacy!
It’s great fun making the videos and the coasters. So glad you’re along for the ride 😁
Pretty impressive man ... Hopefully you keep up the good work
a pre drop before the launch that takes an inversion slowly would be cool and it may be easier to launch the vehicle if it already has some speed.
Really cool.!
Just been waiting
This guy needs more subs and views
Thank you!
I’m so grateful for your support.
Now go wash your hands 😂
Yes sir
I love rollercosters and am new to your channel
yayyayayayayay you uploaded again yayayayay
I feel the same!
Been working so much there’s not as much time to play!
I love your channel
also, how goes the loop/barrel roll/ anything upsidedown
Inversion?

WIRED did a video on it go check it out
Awesome! Youre a genius xd.
I saw you in wired and I thought the coaster was really cool. I was wondering what the most up to date video of the coaster is thanks!
Hey Will,
When will you show us how to bend PVC track?
Emersonac yeah he replied to my comment, said he will do it really soon, he said this around 4 months ago.
Emersonac he actually already has a video about this
Will you still doing this thing? Very interested to see your Linear Synchronous Motor (I assume since you bought magnets) launch vs. the other Will's Pneumatic. Want to see how you arrange the coils, magnets, power supply etc. I'm trying to build one myself at about 1/8th scale. Like a train set but a coaster. Finding it nearly impossible without the proper tools. It won't do the turns, it always binds. The tolerances really have to be perfect. So now I'm thinking just a big launch half-pipe. Thanks!
What metal tubes do you recommend. I’m just starting to get into welding I have a really steep hill and I’ve always wanted to build a roller coaster down it. I’ve also been wondering about the tool you use to bend the metal.
Will looks sort of like iron man
Sweet videos. Just started watching a whole bunch on your page. Can I suggest some shoulder bolts for the tilting? The head is smaller, the shoulder diameter is more precise and shorter thread length for the nut. Keep it up, they're great!
Maybe you can ask mark rober for some big project that you want to make or something like that. Maybe.
Absolutely incredible Will! Love following along with you. Question: does the front of your cart pivot (swivel) on a bearing? or are the front wheels fixed and the cart is able take turns based on give between the track and wheels?
Month 1 waiting for an update
PLEASE I NEED THIS
If you wanted an inversion on the other coaster you built you should have had a drop on rmc coasters like twisted timbers
What kind of wheels do you recommend ? Great video information
When is the next update video about the roller coaster coming
To improve on the welding surface you need to put your ground next to the area your welding at least 6 in if possible note by putting your ground on the vice you're adding resistance to the material to get a proper ground sign sprack a tack 248
Thank you, Sprack!
I will absolutely do that next time :)
So, when you take that bar with the 2 wheel assemblies and attach it to the seat, does that whole assembly need to be able to twist in relation to the seat to handle turns? I.e. do you mount it in a rigid/welded way or via a bolt since the wheel housings at the front of the seat would hit a turn before the wheel housings in the back?
What size steel tubing do you use for the sides of the track? I am looking to build a Half-pipe style coaster that is friction wheel powered and I am working on track design. Should I stick with pvc? Or should I build my self a steel tubing bender? Thanks.
You should make a 2 seater
Can u do a roller coaster cart and wheel tutorial? If u did already can u post a link to ur video? Thanks.
Helllo how is the realer coaster
Pls make one for me for my back yard
Love your car man Tesla performance good choice
Thanks. Super fun ride! I feel so lucky to have it!

Hi
45th!!
Do u do CZcams full time?
Hi Ring,
Nope. My real job is leadership development, management consulting and artificial intelligence. www.goalboss.ai is my company. Very convincing and grownup, actually :)
Hey I want to build a rollercoaster can you help me?
Second!!
Btw this is a little tip I would like to give you don’t talk like you’re only talking to one person talk like you’re talking to a crowd thanks for the amazing vids btw
Butter why does that matter
Hello
4:10
Good video dude! Just curious, how much back-and-forth pitch does the wheel housing need to navigate the hills and valleys? I.e., if straight up and down was 0, how many degrees should the housing be able to tilt forward and back? Like 15 degrees each way (30 total) or more/less?
I ask because I'm in the Early Access program for Dreams, a game creation tool on PS4, and I'm iterating ideas on building working wheel housings in-game in it.
Hi Josh,
Great question, and cool project you’re working on. These wheels can pitch up or down as much as 50 degrees from 0. Way more than enough :)
@@WillPemble Cool, thank you! So, in your case, you've got 25 degrees in either direction (assuming straight up is default), do you think most coasters have 30 total (15 forward and 15 backward)?
I've got some videos on my channel of the tests, but am working with individual wheels atm not full sections yet. I've done quite a few flat rides though!
Hi Josh,
Just watched your video here: czcams.com/video/A7GQGVDNWKs/video.html
Everybody should watch it because it's awesome! What you're doing in PS4 land is very cool. I wish I could set friction to zero on my coaster :)
To answer your question, our wheels have 50 degrees in either direction, assuming straight up is the default. I think that'll be way more than enough.
When will u build a theme park in real life?

Some welding advice ay buddy... try this:
1) Get yourself a chipping hammer.
2) Your welds are not that bad, practice makes perfect!
3) Learn from Abom79 czcams.com/video/Ef9ynmcju-4/video.html
and This Old Tony czcams.com/users/featonyvideos
for not just welding tips but all sorts of awesome fabrication tips/tricks/ideas
As always, Chris, your feedback and suggestions are brilliant. Love the videos you suggested, and I'm going to order a chipping hammer... just as soon as I #WashMyHands!
Be well, my brother!
Will you ever build a coaster for a theme park
