- Just a quick peek at installing 3/4" square aluminum tubing across the floor of this 2020 Sprinter 3500. 3/4" foam board insulation will go between the joists next. Then a 1/8" layer of mass loaded vinyl sheet, all topped off by 1/2" maple plywood. The result: A super solid, well insulated subfloor on which to build a fully bespoke custom RV.
The full subfloor video is coming soon. Subscribe and click the bell icon and we'll let you know when it's live. In the meantime, enjoy the silly timelapse!
SPECIAL THANKS to George Mauro for his inspiration and expertise. If we're lucky we get a chance now and then to stand on the shoulders of giants. George is certainly one!

How’s the coaster coming
Oh hi, wanted to know if you're still working on that launch coaster.
First! Very nice!!
After watching all of George's videos I ended up redoing my floor using his same method and it has been the best version of my floor yet. Yours looks great!
Thanks, Mitchell! Actually building it gives one a true appreciation of just how cleverly designed the Mauro Subfloor, which we will now call it, really is!
Nobody:
Absolutely nobody:
Will's timelapses: 🪕🪕🪕
Everybody: "Yeehaw!"
Can’t wait to see what’s next!!!!
Thanks, Chris! We’ll get the full floor install video up soon. In the meantime, I just love a banjo time lapse 😁
that's a nice base for a floor.
side note: where are the coaster updates?
