  • In this video we show how the sub floor was installed, using Polyiso foam board to insulate under the 1/2” pure bond plywood.
We used 3/4” aluminum square tubing to create a sub-structure that would support the 1/2” pure bond plywood and prevent it from crushing the foam board (Poliiso) set between the aluminum tubing. Once our aluminum structure and insulation where in place the pure bond plywood was secured using the factory fittings. We used pure bond plywood because it does not contain formaldehyde (like regular plywood does)
We chose 3/4" Polyiso Foam board insulation over other options because it's hydrophobic, has a good R value of 5, and it's firm consistency helps to keep the airflow under our subfloor; this will prevent moisture entrapment. The other options we explored would have filled the channels in the factory flooring and stopped any air flow, trapping any moisture that may get caught under the floor.
Materials we used for this project:
----3/4 “ polyisocyanurate with an R Value of 5.0 (AKA. Polyiso.) also Ridgid
    Foam Board
    ----Purebond plywood
    ----Loctite PL Marine
