He had nothing left to gain after 2016 but a lot to lose, those golden years with family and a child growing up. Motorsports is still pretty dangerous too so theres always a risk there. All these comments about 'why he retired', the life of a f1 driver has no time for family, youre always traveling, training, and you have about 2 weeks off. Look at Nico Rosberg's youtube channel, hes still very passionate about F1 and gives back to his fans with his insights and detailed hotlaps. he even has a sim. yes you can be rich and you can be talented and gifted but its another thing to share and create a community, which hes done with his family and his community.
