I've done it with a dummy made from many many more layers of masking tape! It's more dimensionally stable (no stretching) than duct tape so it hold the right shape better.
how did you make it? i've been looking for a proper mascot padding tutorial for a long time, and i'm dying to know

Do you think expanding foam (for like insulation) would work as stuffing?
It could work, but I'd you go that route I would use masking tape and a minimum of 5 layers of tape so the expansive force won't distort the shape

@@blackandwhitewolf203 right, 2 layers is a minimum, but if you overlap each tape piece by at least half on each layer, which is in reality 4 layers of duct tape which should hold through the process of making a fursuit. More layers will help it last even longer!

Hi I would like to know where do you buy your fur, I've looked everywhere but I can't find what I'm looking for, more precisely I search on google for faux fur and it shows me fur clothes, which doesn't help me.
Try searching BigZ fabric, Mendel's fabric, Howl's fabric, and your local Joann's store :)

Unfortunately I do not sell the core of this tail, that's what makes it so bouncy! The seller has a year+ wait on orders for cores :( I can make and sell sleeves for it though!

A little note is that this only works for prop pieces, not wearable pieces If you want your limbs to fit in these comfortably you need to add the 3-6mm
You're right, but It does work the other direction too! You can offset the line outward to preserve the inner measurements :) but yes, special considerations need to be taken for wearable pieces, like how tight or loose of fit you want, movement ease etc.

Absolutely useful for something requires a lot of the same thing repeated a bunch in the same size, but would need different thickness for where it got attached.
Definitely useful for me in pattern making! It'll be essential for making this dummy sturdy too

This in my opinion is the best looking tail I've seen in terms of realistic motions and the swaying of the fur while it moves. This really makes me want to make tails like this

This one is silicone and bigger than a pup tail(I believe) I got it from a guy named Jay, he only sells through his telegram group. Search for "Jay's boingy tails"

How many rolls of duck tape did you use??
I would guess about 100 m total? I didn't keep track honestly. I used two small rolls (20m) of the teal color and it couldn't cover my body once. The rest I used was duct tape I had on hand

Do you think this neck structure would work for the king of red lions (the boat) from wind waker? His neck and head is mounted to the boat but swivels to look back at link (mc) to talk
Hmmmm, the king of red lion's neck is pretty skinny so there is probably a better solution. But who knows until you try it out!
