Do you have any advice for creating these eva foam patterns? I made one for a tiger mask, though I started from making a 3D model not a clay one. I’m pretty happy with it, but there is a difference between the model and the foam version; if you have any tips for better accuracy/method I’d be incredibly grateful!
Yes, I have actually started writing an eBook about that very topic, I have tons of tips and tricks to help get around that distortion problem. After all my dinos are done, I'm going to focus the book until it's done

For the bevels, I have a lot trouble with getting those cuts to be smooth. Do you think cutting them straight and then going back with a dremmel might help?
That would help! I've done it plenty before. You may also want to sharpen your blade or get a new blade entirely and see if that helps!

Hi there - total beginner here. I've got my pieces printed and I'm ready to cut them out, but I'm unclear if the "Bevel back" on the pattern = "Bevel in" or "Bevel out." Thank you for clarification. Can't wait to make this!

Any idea when the other Dino patterns might be available? I scrolled the comments but didn’t see anything. My kids are really looking forward to the parasaurolophus and triceratops!
The Triceratops pattern will be posted this week on my shops, and parasaurolophus will be sometime in June! Their will be detail instructions with the patterns, but it may take a bit to get a video done for each of them
Triceratops was just posted! No video yet, but the tips in this video will help. Parasaurolophus is the next one I'm working on!
Do you think there would be any issues with using 10mm foam? I was going to use my kids old play mat. The only issue i can see is it’ll be a little smaller on the inside, and I’m gonna have to scale down for my toddler at least.
The 10 will distort the shape, especially if f you are planning on scaling the pattern down to fit a child. I would find thinner foam, like 4 for that. If you scale the pattern up, the 10mm foam will distort it less
Hey! Thanks for this tutorial! I really want to get a skull dog mask but they’re really expensive 😭 so I’m thinking about making my own. I can’t make it out of cardboard though because it can mold and stuff *I learned that not too long ago acctually* and I want to be safe about the masks I make
It depends on how you treat it/the humidity of where you live. If you look at the ultimate paper mache'd channel she has some great finishing methods that are durable
Would you continue ont he raptor cosplay in videos? After my bear costume, i wanted to make a Dragon, but my biggest thing is making the skin / scales. The only things i can find are casting it like prosthetics would be and gluing it all together. But i dont have the means to do that ;~;
I have some ideas and I will try to get a video on it soon, though the next video ony dragon taxidermy might also help you
@@KazplayVideos Well ive done non moveable taxadermy before and with non moving i can use bedsheets with elmers glue, or foam clay. But since yours in moveable, it would have to be soft yet durable to move it around and still looks like skin, so yeah i will look forward to that video on some ideas i can use for a dragon costume.

I think that would be difficult, not something I would recommend be tried by a beginner

Am i able to print the bottom jaw at 95% and the top at 100% to make the jaw a little more inset? this could allow me to add teeth i think.

In its raw form, just balancing on the chin is enough to open and close it

I don't have experience with leatherworking, but I have seen at least one person make my kitsune mask pattern in leather. Looked way cool! It probably would work but you'd have to modify the pattern slightly

Just from sitting on your chin, you can add elastic if you want!

The pattern is a digital download with the pattern and the instructions. You print it off so you can cut and assemble the mask yourself

You say the thickness of the foam that you need, but you don't say the amount? How much foam do we need for this?

I like TNt cosplay supply foam, it comes in big sheets and you can easily get at least a few masks from one sheet. Used the regular density (Eva 38 I believe? ) the Eva 70 is overkill
