FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE WHO CUTS THE EARS OFF TO GIVE THE, A DIFFERENT AND MORE REALISTIC SHAPE-
As a fursuit maker I had a heart attack when you just _starting gluing fur down_ but it turned out great! If anyone wants to sew in markings (for a solid, even color without sacrificing softness that paint just can't do) definitely check out some fursuit making tutorials. I use the tape pattern method! Works wonderfully ^^ just be careful when peeling the tape off the mask, it likes to peel up some of the paper in my experience!

@@DunEquineOfficial You don't sound rude at all! Unlike most fabrics, faux fur has very very little stretch (there is stretch fur out there, but it's *very* expensive). So, just draping a flat piece of fur over a curved shape usually doesn't go well, and you end up with wrinkles. I really don't know how it turned out so well in this video!
Or you could air brush something like this to preserve the softness just don't chunk it to much

i been looking for a tutorial like this for a while because i am trying to make a really good looking mask for my sister for her birthday as one of her gifts i am going to be giving her early cause idk when the next time i will be able to see her, i might give this out a try and see how it turns out with the felt and the left over cat mask i have i am going to be using to create my own different kind of mask out of.

@@Clenentime616 I wouldn’t recommend Hobby lobby, mainly because it’s conservative. Michaels works well too, and Howl fabrics for high quality fur.
@@aeriisonpaws oh ok! Yes I’ve only seen fur from hobby lobby and I couldn’t remember the names of other place! But the felt at hobby lobby is very cheap! Abt 25 cents a piece (where I live)
@@Clenentime616 The felt at Michael’s for me is 50 cents apiece, still fairly cheap. It’s also a bit stretchy too.

You can try find a good tutorial on how to make one out of cardboard

I mix it with fabric softener! Then throughout the painting process I brush it so it won’t do that

Wow, this mask is AMAZING! My first mask has been a bit of a trainwreck so far.... But hey, it's an experiment and a learning process! I'm definitely going to go for EVA foam (and maybe posable ears) if I can on my second mask. I'm curious, can the ears swivel with the wire? I get the feeling I might need to do more rigging if I want a bigger frame of movement...

I don’t have that type of elastic so is it okay just to use the normal one?
Is it ok if i use felt around the dace instead of all fur?
Also can i use a thinner foam for the muzzle?
Just asking cuz i dont have enough fur / right type of foam for that but im close :3
You could use felt but you would probably want to smooth out the base a lot more. I also don’t reccomend using thinner foam reason being that it can make it less stable, so maybe try gluing layers of thinner foam to make thicker pieces!

not to be rude or anything but YOUR MASKS ARE EXSPENSIVE GIRLIE 😭 I dont got that kind of money ...
Expensive for these reasons I believe: the amount of supplies, using a whole big sheet of fur for only 1 mask - 7 dollars - the labor - the talent (it’s hard to find people with such amazing talent) + Eva foam + felt + a TON of hot glue + the wiring + shaping & sculpting the snout, ears , etc , the thick elastic.- how much time it takes to make masks like these - plus it’s not messy like other masks where you can see all the dried hot glue and cardboard & foam sticking out , ( also the amount of REALISM put into these masks) hope that helped why masks like these are so expensive :D🐾🪶🍂🍁
